INTRODUCTION: After much debate, I have decided to list my 2008 BULLITT Mustang (#5716). I am the original (bought new), owner and I am selling it because it has sat in a garage, under cover, approximately 95% of it's life as evidenced by the low odometer reading of 3,593 miles (as of 8/6/13). This is a GREAT car . . . fun to drive but, I have other cars that I drive more often and I feel this Mustang needs to be enjoyed on a more frequent basis. Even though it only has 3,500+ miles, I have changed the oil and filter twice, with the second sevice occuring just a few days ago. I only use Ford Motor filters and synthetic oil. In addition, during the Winter months, Sta-Bil is added to the fuel. The rear seats have never been used by anyone and the passenger seat, less than a dozen times. The inside of the car still has that "new car" smell. As a senior-adult owner, the car has been driven with care and is the nearest example to a new Bullitt Mustang without the price and, perhaps best-of-all, dealership emotional challenge! The underside is as clean as the rest of the car since it has never been driven on wet road surfaces or during inclement weather. Now, understand that I don't need to sell the car and I am not interested in any trades, etc. If, it doesn't sell I will continue to enjoy it. I believe it is fairly-priced, especially when you consider the miles and overall condition.
VEHICLE CONDITION: This vehicle is in "like new" conditon without any mechanical or cosmetic problems.
HISTORY: This Bullitt Mustang is #5716 of 5,775 produced in 2008. It rolled-off the Flat Rock, Michigan Assembly Plant on 5-21-08. Two, original letters signed by Joanne Andre, Ford Research Unit Representative, North American Customer Relationship Center, describing the vehicle and it's production features will accompany the vehicle. Performance Note: Keep in mind that the overall performance specifications for the 2008 Bullitt Mustang were not available in the standard "GT" line until 2010.
PAYMENT & SHIPPING: FULL payment within SEVEN days of close of auction via Certified Cashier's or Official Bank or Savings and Loan Check. The vehicle will not be released until the funds have cleared my account. Pick up or transportation of the vehicle is the new owner's responsibility. I will store the vehicle for free for THREE weeks following the auction end date. A daily charge of $15.00 will be assesed thereafter and the vehicle will not be released until the balance is paid-in-full. All documentation and paperwork (including Title), will be mailed separately to include an extra, un-used fob and key. PLEASE HAVE YOU FUNDING PRE-ARRANGED TO ENSURE A SMOOTH AND PLEASANT TRANSACTION. The winning bid will be automatically-cancelled if payment is not received within the time prescribed.

2015 Ford Mustang to offer solid-rear axle, sort of
Tue, 17 Dec 2013One of the biggest knocks against the last Ford Mustang was its solid-rear axle. Not one to actively court criticism, Ford dutifully swapped out the old-fashioned rear end for something a bit more modern in the redesigned 2015 Mustang, adding an independent rear suspension across the board.
While an IRS Mustang is great news for those that value handling and ride comfort, there's one big group that it's bad news for - drag racers. See, a solid-rear axle is a big deal for drag racers, because not only is it more durable and cheaper, but it's better for the hard launches that can make or break a race.
To satiate this vocal demographic, Ford will sell a body-in-white version of the Stang, complete with a nine-inch rear axle, that will debut at the 2014 Performance Racing Industry show. The news came from gas2.org, which cited an unnamed employee of Ford Racing at this year's PRI show.
Shelby GT500 and Roush Stage 3 go head to head at the drag strip
Wed, 07 Aug 2013The Ford Mustang is a brilliantly affordable source of horsepower, with a base 300-plus-horsepower version available for well under $30,000. Jumping up to about $35,000 will get you a solid 420 horsepower from a high-revving V8, while those with some extra disposable income can get a pair of 600-plus-horsepower monsters. Both the Roush Stage 3 with its Phase 3 package and Ford's factory Shelby GT500 even crest the 650-horsepower mark, with 675 and 662 ponies, respectively.
Naturally, someone needed to find out which of these hi-po Mustangs was the quickest. And while this video is quite obviously a dealership commercial, at least there's some solid drag racing between two of the most powerful performance machines available for under $100,000.
With two NHRA drag racers at the wheel, the Stage 3 and GT500 go head to head for three races. Scroll down below to see the results in the full video.
Is Tesla's next project an F-150 competitor? [w/poll]
Wed, 13 Nov 2013What's the future look like for Tesla after it launches the Model X CUV and possibly a smaller, sub-Model S sedan? Would you believe a pickup truck? Yes, Tesla could be looking to use its EV know-how to take the fight to Ford and the F-150, based on comments made by company founder Elon Musk.
"If you're trying to replace the most gasoline miles driven, you have to look at what people are buying," Musk said during an impromptu Q&A session following a speech at Business Insider's Ignition conference. "[The F-150 is] the best selling car in America. If people are voting that's their car, then that's the car we have to deliver."
And while the idea of electric pickup may sound kind of absurd to some, Musk makes a very valid point - if Tesla's goal is to replace gas miles with electrical miles, it simply can't afford to ignore pickups.
