A 2009 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 for sale by original owner.  Gently used for 300 to 500 mile trips on highways and otherwise garage kept.  Still has mirror like gloss to white paint and center blue stripe with only a small scrape on the aluminum hood paint stripe that was present when I purchased the vehicle from a local Ford dealership.  No accidents on vehicle but I did scrape the side of a tall side walk with the drivers side tire and caused some rim and tire cosmetic damage(see tire in trunk).  This was replaced with a new tire and rim at about 1,200 miles on vehicle.  The old tire/rim  is still good and will be included with the vehicle to be used as a spare if desired.  The vehicle never saw cigarette smoke nor any form of perfume scents and still smells factory new.  I live in South Texas, so no snow or salt, and the vehicle may have seen two or three rain showers in its entire life.  It has factory HID headlights and I installed HID kit for fog lamps in order to match.  Another non-stock items in this vehicle is an SVT Strut tower bar that is beefier than the stock one that was placed when the vehicle was about 3,000 miles old.  The vehicle also has an SVT "cue ball" style transmission shifter and the original is available if winning bidder decides to take and install later.  These vehicles do not come with keyless entry pads built into the doors, so I had a genuine ford external keypad color matched and placed as shown on the last photo.  This can easily be removed by any Ford or Auto Body shop without paint damage if desired.  The last non-stock item is the battery that was replaced after my trickle charger died without my knowledge and caused the original battery to sulfate.  The vehicle still has time left on the genuine Ford Extended Service Plan (Vehicle Warranty) that was purchased new with the vehicle and expires on May 4, 2016 or 100,000miles, which ever comes first, and is transferable to new owner.  So if anything happens to the car mechanically, it only costs you the $100 deductible to repair until the plan expires in a little under 3 years.  Serious inquires only please.  I hate to let such a well kept vehicle go, but getting older and prefer bigger SUV for long trips.  Please feel free to email me via ebay for any questions prior to bidding.  Carfax of this vehicle is included in the pictures of the vehicle.  Thank you for your time.

Ford builds two-millionth EcoBoost engine

Tue, 17 Sep 2013

Ford's EcoBoost engine lineup is only four years old, but it is growing into an important and popular global engine. As proof of its popularity, Ford just produced its 2 millionth EcoBoost engine - a 2.0-liter inline four-cylinder - which rolled off the assembly line in Louisville, Kentucky under the hood of an Escape.
Ford now offers five EcoBoost engines around the world ranging from the 1.0-liter inline-three to the twin-turbo 3.5-liter V6, and the automaker is expanding production of two of its engine lines to keep up with demand. Earlier this year, Ford announced that the 2.0-liter EcoBoost would be built in Cleveland, Ohio starting in 2014 and, more recently, Ford said that it will be doubling production of the 1.0-liter EcoBoost in Germany. That turbo-three will also be produced in China at a new Ford engine plant in Chongqing.
Scroll down for Ford's full press release on this EcoBoost production milestone, including a breakdown of where all the engines were made.

Ford and GM link bonus checks to quality scores

Tue, 29 Apr 2014

The poor first quarter earnings of Ford and General Motors are having an effect all the way up the food chain. Both automakers struggled with recalls in the first three months of the year, and, according to The Detroit News, they have responded by increasing the percentage of bonuses tied to vehicle quality for salaried workers, including top executives.
GM announced that 25 percent of bonuses (up from 10 percent) for all salaried workers would be tied to its vehicle quality standards. The automaker revealed in its financial report that it spent $1.3 billion on recall-related repairs in the first quarter, and net income was down 86 percent.
Ford also increased the quality proportion of bonuses for about 26,000 salaried workers all the way up to CEO Alan Mulally from 10 percent to 20 percent. The company announced in its report that the amount paid out in warranty and recall claims was about $400 million higher than expected in the first quarter. Its net income fell 39 percent from the previous year. "The change reflects how critical quality is to our overall business," said spokesperson Todd Nissen speaking to Autoblog.

2015 Ford Expedition stays the course, adds EcoBoost power

Tue, 18 Feb 2014

The era of the body-on-frame, fullsize SUV is rapidly vanishing in favor of smaller, unibody crossovers. However, Ford still sees life in the segment with the reveal of the updated 2015 Expedition, now available (solely) with the company's 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6. The new truck will make its public debut at the 2014 DFW Auto Show in Dallas on February 19.
The loss of the previous 5.4-liter V8 in favor of Ford's 3.5-liter, direct-injected, twin-turbocharged V6 engine might rankle some of the Expedition's fans, but Ford claims that the change gives the SUV better fuel economy, more power and increased low-end torque than before. Unfortunately, official engine specifications won't be released until later this year, but Ford says engine output will be similar to the 365 horsepower and 360 pound-feet of torque that this powerplant produces in other applications. The EcoBoost is mated to a six-speed automatic transmission, and the SUV now uses electrically assisted power steering, for an even greater fuel economy advantage. Ford claims this also allows for better maneuverability at low speeds and better feel at high speeds.
Exterior styling is basically unchanged for 2015. The front end has the same three-bar chrome grille and headlight design, but the lower air dam gets added chrome and LED lamps. The rear gets more brightwork on the hatch, and there's a chrome-tipped exhaust pipe. As before, Ford is offering the Expedition in two wheelbase lengths - 119 inches and 131 inches. A new, optional, continuously controlled damping system alters suspension settings constantly based on 46 parameters and offers comfort, normal and sport modes (just like the Expedition's sister, the recently refreshed and decidedly less-attractive Lincoln Navigator).
