Hey guys! I Need something bigger, so I am selling my Mustang 5.0. It is 2011 Ingot Silver Mustang GT 401A  (premium plus the Cashmere trimmed interior upgrade package) 6-Speed manual with the Brembo Brake Package, Security Package (full alarm, immobilizer, and wheel locks), HID Headlight Package (bi-xenon directional headlights), 3.73 rear axle, and Comfort Package (heated front seats, power driver AND passenger seat). MSRP was 37,695 on this loaded Mustang.

I have added (all through Ford Racing):

-Ford Racing "F" 1.5" Lowering Springs (installed and aligned by Ford with camber bolts and an adjustable rear panhard bar) ($500).

-Ford Racing Power Pack (ECU tuning to this specific VIN, K&N, and GT500 Axlebacks) ($900).

-Boss lower front splitter w/ fog lights and Boss lower rear valance ($700).

-GT500 rear spoiler with gurney flap ($300).

-Boss 302 flat hood graphic, gloss black roof, and flat black rear deck graphic ($500).

The car is still under it's 3-year bumper to bumper warranty with only 29,500 miles. It also still has the 5-year/60k power-train warranty as well. So there is some peace of mind that you are covered and get the advantages like buying a new car!

Besides that, the car has brand new Pirelli P-Zero OEM tires up front and brand new BFG Sport Comp 2s in the rear (255 front, 275 back). Brakes are around 70%, and it is 2k miles from the next oil change (Ford semi-synthetic every time at regular intervals). Only service has been done at Ford. Everything is in the car fax. No accidents. No dents. No scratches. Super clean car. Excellent, fast, reliable Mustang 5.0 you can drive everyday to work like me, or take it out to the track.  This car has never seen a track up to this point. It should be noted, this car has never felt "armor-all." I used only Lexol Leather Cleaner and Conditioner for the interior.  I also only use Meguiars on the paint and premium fuel in the tank.  She is well taken care of.

Thanks for looking!

Ford to build Explorer in Russia to meet demand [w/video]

Fri, 12 Apr 2013

The current Ford Explorer is sold in more than 64 countries, and this three-row vehicle continues to grow in popularity worldwide. To keep up with demand, Ford began producing the Explorer at Ford Sollers Elabuga Assembly Plant in Tatarstan, Russia, a joint venture facility. This partnership will build Russian-market Explorers only, and production of export vehicles not destined for Russian buyers will continue to be built at Ford's assembly plant in Chicago.
Before this plant went online, Ford would ship Explorers to Russia (and other regions around the world) as partially assembled knock-down units where final assembly would eventually take place. While there is no indication as to how many Explorers Ford Sollers will build for Russia, Ford did add that exports of the SUV were up 65 percent last year (from 2011) accounting for more than 24,000 units.
Scroll down for a press release about the Russian Explorer as well as a video (bad music and all) showing the SUV being produced in Tatarstan.

Ford F-150 EcoBoost in NHTSA probe for acceleration issue

Tue, 28 May 2013

According to Automotive News, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is launching a probe into 400,000 Ford F-150 models over possible acceleration problems. According to the article, NHTSA has received 95 reports "alleging incidents of reduced engine power during hard accelerations" on 2011 to 2013 F-150 models equipped with the company's 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 engine.
Automotive News reports that Ford has issued three technical service bulletins "related to intermittent stumble/misfire on acceleration from highway cruise in humid or damp conditions," according to the government agency's documents. About one third of the 95 reports NHTSA has received cited humid or rainy conditions when these problems allegedly occurred.
These technical service bulletins have allowed dealers to address a "condition related to moisture accumulation in the charge air cooler during extended highway cruising at constant throttle in humid or damp conditions," AN reports, citing NHTSA documents. Furthermore, the TSB outlines details for "reprogramming the powertrain control module with the latest calibration and installing a new CAC and air deflector plate."

Jay Leno and Lee Iacocca reflect on 50 years of Ford Mustang

Mon, 30 Dec 2013

Lee Iacocca oversaw the birth of the Ford Mustang back in the 1960s, rocketing the new pony car nameplate into million-unit sales territory in its initial go-round and cementing its place in the history books. Thus, we were immediately drawn to this latest episode of Jay Leno's Garage, in which the funnyman hosts Iacocca for a look at the origins of Ford's most iconic sports car. The legendary auto exec is looking notably more frail than when we last saw him, but if we're being asked around as a video guest when we're 89 years old, we'll consider that evidence of a life well lived.
Serial No. 0001 is on hand for the occasion for Jay's romp through history, as is the historic Mustang 1 showcar from 1962. Of course, the all-new 2015 Ford Mustang GT (in prototype form) makes an appearance at the end of the episode with chief engineer Dave Pericak, as well. Get some, below.
