You are bidding on my 1999 Electric Green Metallic Mustang SVT Cobra show car.  I am the second owner and purchased this car in July 2000 with 12,800 miles.  During the first 20 months this car was my daily driver and 20,000 miles was put on it. In December 2001 I purchased another daily driver and at that time the Cobra became my specialty and hobby car.  At approximately 34,000 miles, the extensive modifications began.  I estimate that there is over $20,000 in modifications on this car; most records are still retained.  This car was primarily a show car but in the mid 2000's was drag raced on a few occasions.  In April of 2007, the car received substantial power through the addition of a Paxton Supercharger and other related modifications.  At that time the car became an exclusive show and cruise night car. Since December 2001 the car has averaged approximately 2000 miles per year and, of course, has always been garage kept. The Cobra has been a big part of my life but after 14 years and many car show trophies it is time to let someone else enjoy her.  I will now list most of the modifications and some background of the car.

This car performs well and is a pleasure to drive.  I would now like to comment on what I see as imperfections.

-In June 2013 when I had the tires mounted and oil changed, I asked my mechanic to look it over.  He found the following:  slight seep rear trans seal (I have monitored this ever since and have not seen a drop of fluid); both sides rear lip bent at rocker panels (I believe I did that when jacking the car up).

-The paint is in incredible condition for its age.  There are 2 scratches that are very difficult to see on the bumper and driver side of the car by roof.  Some very slight chips and thin paint can be noted but, again, very difficult to see.  There are a couple of slight stains on the rear rug but cannot be seen when mats are in place.  The passenger seat has a tiny black spot most likely a marker in my pocket, it is extremely hard to see.

Overall, an incredible car that gets a lot of attention where ever I take it. Most cannot believe that it is a factory color.  I have tried to be as open and honest as possible but encourage any questions.  I do have a lot of collectibles that go with this car and would be happy to include them if the winner so desired them.  This is a unique car that I have tried to tastefully modify.  The reserve, in my opinion, is reasonable for this car.

2015 Ford F-150 configurator is ready to go to work

Thu, 25 Sep 2014

Ford is inching towards the on-sale date for the eagerly anticipated, aluminum F-150 pickup. While we're preparing to drive the new truck (expect our take on it sooner rather than later), the best-seller has reached another, albeit more minor, milestone as its online configurator has officially been switched on.
We took to Ford's consumer website to mess about with it and see just how ridiculous of a truck we can build. Among the fun things we discovered were these two nuggets - the most expensive truck we could configure was not the top-end Platinum model, but instead the King Ranch, which rang up at $65,955. The other exciting discovery? The new truck would be available in a questionable shade called Blue Jeans (shown above with the optional contrasting Caribou paint). Yep, Blue Jeans.
You can head over to Ford's consumer page and build your very own aluminum F-150 now. Take a look.

Former Ford CEO Mulally won't run for president

Mon, 15 Sep 2014

Alan Mulally will not be following his successful term as president and CEO of Ford Motor Company with a run at an even bigger presidency. Rumors that the 68-year-old former Boeing exec would make a run at the White House sprouted after his apparent dodging of a reporter's questions about a potential candidacy during a forum in Indianapolis.
"I really think it's important that we all pull together. We really need to pull together around a compelling vision for our country and a comprehensive strategy to do it and work together. We really need to do it," Mulally said at the conference, according to The Detroit News.
He's since clarified by saying, "[I'm] honored at the suggestion, but that is not a role I am considering."

2015 Ford Mustang GT road test ride-along

Wed, 24 Sep 2014

You've no doubt already pored over our first drive of the 2015 Ford Mustang, where author Jonathon Ramsey proclaimed that "this new car shames the old, redefines the model and gallops far ahead of anything else in the segment." And following Ramsey's first stint behind the wheel of Ford's new coupe, we sent him back out with another 'Stang to capture some of these same impressions over a backdrop of the car moving quickly along gorgeous California canyon roads.
But this also gave our author and editors time to read through the hundreds of comments left on that original Mustang review. You readers are indeed a vocal bunch, and one particular comment about how the automotive media is so willing to bash an outgoing car as soon as the new one arrives really caught our attention. In this video, Ramsey stands by his written text, saying the new Mustang is "massively better than the one it replaces," and in doing so, addresses your comments while providing more insight into just how good the Ford truly is.
We won't spoil the rest for you. Check out the feature video above, and as always, leave us your thoughts in the Comments section below.
