Mustang Mach 1 on 2040-cars
Dorchester, Nebraska, United States
My eMail : frediymkknauf@web.de This was the last year for the first-generation Mustang, though it had changed vastly since its launch in 1964 as an early 1965 model. The 1973 Ford Mustang suffered another weight and size increase thanks to safety regulations. A 5-mph bumper was now required in front and a 2.5-mile bumper at the rear. The bumpers added four inches to the length of the car and 50 lbs weight. Production increased to 134,817 units, partly due to the news that there would be no convertible in the downsized model around the corner. The heart to this Mustang is a 351- 4-barrel Cleveland engine creating around 266 HP and 301 Lb-ft or torque. It was rebuilt and has approximately 32,000 miles on it, since being completed. The 351C is connected to a Ford C6- Auto Transmission, which some refer to as the Hold on tight to the steering wheel and plop down into the brown leather seats and interior, which not only looks sharp, but makes for a comfortable ride when cruising this Mach-1 around town or down the highway. While cruising, roll down the windows, step on the gas and feel free to turn on some retro or modern tunes as you?ll enjoy the sound produced by the Sony speakers as both you and them cut through the wind. Other options on this Mustang include: A/C, AM/FM Radio, CD Player, Power Brakes, Power Steering, & Radial Tires. This 1973 Mustang Mach-1 will be tearing up some roads and chewing up some asphalt for a happy new owner very soon. Will this be you?

1969 Ford Talladega GPT Special is a SEMA showstopper
Thu, 07 Nov 2013Rad Rides by Troy has unleashed upon the SEMA crowds this custom 1969 Ford Torino Talladega GT Special, and it's a beauty. The car calls to mind the classic Holman Moody stock cars that circled NASCAR tracks in the late 1960's, driven by the likes of Mario Andretti, Dan Gurney and David Pearson, who won the Grand National title in both 1968 and '69 in a Ford Torino.
Even though it has plenty of stock-car influence, there's nothing retro about the car's design or powertrain, other than the fact that the engine is based on a Ford Boss 429 block. Fuel injection, aftermarket aluminum heads and a high-tech custom computer system combine to send 750 reliable ponies to the rear wheels through a Tremec five-speed manual transmission. Brakes measure 14-inches all around, with six-piston Wilwood calipers up front and four-piston units out back.
There's custom bodywork abound, painted in a two-tone Tennessee Whiskey Gold and Daytona Sand finish. Check out all the amazing details in the image gallery below, and scroll down to read all about it in designer Troy Trepanier's own words.
Ford dinged by OSHA for asbestos at Buffalo plant
Sat, 20 Jul 2013Ford has come under fire from the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) for violations regarding asbestos exposure in a company metal stamping plant in Buffalo, NY. OSHA has cited Ford for eight violations in total, according to an Automotive News report, and faces fines of up to $41,800. 537 workers are employed at the stamping facility.
The violations include a pipefitter at the facility being exposed to asbestos-containing material while working on a steam line, other workers exposed to the material without respiratory protection and work areas that were not designed to limited the number of workers in contact with asbestos. Further, areas in which asbestos was present were not properly restricted, and levels of asbestos in the air were not monitored.
According to an unnamed Ford spokesperson in the AN report, the company feels that the OSHA citation is erroneous saying, "We have fully cooperated with the local OSHA officials and we don't believe the citations are warranted." Ford also maintains that it will work with the authorities to resolve the issue.
Vaughn Gittin Jr. takes his dog for a drift
Tue, 09 Sep 2014
Vaughn Gittin Jr. spends a great deal of his workday going sideways, but he's usually alone in the endeavor. For a guy that is clearly a dog lover, we imagine that can get a bit lonely.
That won't be a problem for Gittin in this latest video, which features the racer hanging out with his good pal Brody (a dog) and everyone's favorite hot hatch, the Ford Fiesta ST.
