This beautiful 100% Southern CALIFORNIA Mustang has Never ever, not even once, been out of the L.A. and San Diego area. If you think all the survivor mustangs are gone or unavailable...look no further. Factory Power steering, Disc brakes, original ice cold Ford A/C, Original tri-color Deluxe Pony interior, Original wood style steering wheel, original AM radio, original seat belts. It is only when you drive a car like this that you realize what it is like to drive a factory, NON modified car. A real pleasure considering well over 90% of mustangs have been modified! This was a one owner car until my wife and I (non smoking, senior citizens) purchased it. Garaged 100% of the time when not driven. Driven about 200 miles per year. Purchased new by family friend in Long Beach and always garaged. Original perfect running, rebuilt stock 289 V8 with hardened seats for lead free fuel. Original, rebuilt smooth C4 Automatic transmission and balanced drive shaft. This car has had rebuilt power steering, and brakes with all genuine Ford parts. Engine burns or drips NO oil. Stock original exhaust in great shape. This car truly drives, sounds and rides as the day it came out of the factory. The spinner wheels are original, I understand that was the last year for spinners. No modifications, rattles, thuds, squeaks or grinds. No rust or body damage, original laser straight panels. Bumpers are original and just replated. Only one repaint and it is a Stunning high dollar paint job, 100% original color. Pony seats are the original from factory. Original carpet just replaced. Original factory Deluxe Tricolor dash/interior. Perfect headliner, all glass and tinted windshield is perfect. Gauges all perfectly functional. Plenty of go power, remarkable acceleration and still great economy on regular gas. No floor rust, no body rust, deep side pockets in trunk are original and rust free. The underside of this car has NOT been detailed. The needs are: 1) welting on the left drivers seat shows wear. I will include a new set of seat covers and welting. As the seats are all original, I personally would just replace the welting and not the seat. 2) Small crack passengers side dash, not visible from inside, only through window. 3) The car needs to be enjoyed.

Ford adds third shift at F-150 plant to keep up with demand

Tue, 06 Aug 2013

The signs have been very positive for Ford's F-Series line of pickup trucks as of late, and after 24 consecutive months of increasing sales of the best-selling F-150, the automaker has added a third production crew at its Kansas City Assembly Plant that includes 900 new hourly workers to meet demand for the truck. This the first step in Ford's plan to add 2,000 hourly jobs at the plant to help meet demand for its trucks and to begin production of the new Transit van, the automaker says.
Despite some tough new competition, sales of the F-Series are the strongest they've been since 2006, according to Ford. The automaker sold 60,449 F-Series in July, the best sales figure for the mid-summer month since 2006, which also represents a 23 percent increase compared to July 2012. From January to July 2013, sales were up 22 percent compared to the same period last year.
Ford has committed to creating 12,000 hourly jobs by 2015, and with the 900 new employees added to the assembly plant in Missouri, the company says it has completed 75 percent of its goal. Ford has also invested $1.1 billion to retool and expand the Kansas City Assembly Plant to ready it for Transit production. Take a look at the press release below for more job and F-Series sales information.

Next Ford Raptor spotted wearing aluminum skin

Wed, 07 May 2014

Well, look at what we have here. Judging from these spy shots, Ford is indeed working on the next generation of its off-road-ready F-150 Raptor pickup truck. We've made no attempt to hide our appreciation for the Baja-style truck, which combines most of the usability of a fullsize truck with heavy-duty suspension components to make a kind of performance vehicle that is unique in the market.
What we haven't known, until now, is whether Ford would push forward with its Raptor program now that it has a completely new F-150 to serve as its base. And that's especially true since Ford made the bold move of switching the bodywork of its best-seller from tried-and-true steel to aluminum. As you can see above, the front and rear of this silver truck are clad in current-gen Raptor bodywork, while the center section that houses the occupants appears to come from the upcoming 2015 F-150.
Dissecting the views above, we note a few interesting tidbits. First, there looks to be a bulge in the truck's hood. Second, we see a new grille between the current Raptor's headlights, sporting a mesh finish and two horizontal bars. Lastly, our eyes can't help but lock in on those burly A-arm suspension pieces down below, not to mention all that ground clearance the specialty suspenders bring to the table.

How Ford's light lab keeps the sun shining on the new Mustang just right [w/video]

Thu, 02 Jan 2014

Anyone who's bought one of those old school metal shift knobs knows they're really cool until they sit in a parking lot in the sun for a few hours. Then they're not cool at all. Likewise, features such as the aluminum dash on the 2015 Ford Mustang can be all kinds of neat right up until the sun hits it just the right way and sends shards of blinding light through the cabin. The Ford Visual Performance and Evaluation Lab is where engineers figure out how to make sure that doesn't happen.
Cars like said Mustang are parked inside the 30-foot reflecting dome under 6,000 watts of lights that can mimic the sun at any time of day and in any weather condition. Engineers can then spend cold, overcast days inside, testing for interior legibility, glare and reflections on every interior and exterior surface as if it were bright and sunny. They can also learn how a car's sheetmetal and colors will look out of doors, all year round.
Ford showed off the lighting lab without the music and interviews three years ago when the Explorer was being prepared. You can watch it at work again in the video below, and read about it in the press release below that.
