1969 Ranchero with the very rare Rio Grande Package . I believe less then 900 were built . The Door VIN tag was unique with the Rio Grande Package as it has a 6 digit DSO and exterior color is blank as thay were painted in one of three colors with black out hood and lower rocker area . Also the tag reads Special Performance Vehicle reguardless of engine option . This car was built with the 351 Windsor 4 barrel motor , automatic trans, power steering and power disc brakes. Delivered to district (72) San Jose California new . If not for signs of rust under the vinyl top this would be a rust free car . The car has not been undercoated ,no hidden surprises ,the underneath of this car is clean and straight, I took one picture of the underneath to give you an idea . I think the car was restored once back in the early 1990's , now show it's age with a dent in the tailgate and a few minor issues elsewhere . ZERO rust in any of the lower body panels to deal with , Just the roof issue I mentioned earlier . I have only driven it local as I left it registered non op . The engine sound good and I see no leaks , trans shifts , brakes and steering OK but I hear a differential noise on deaccelleration that will need to be addressed . Other then that you could use this car as is or restore and have a VERY RARE Ranchero . I don't think there are many left and many people don't even know they made one. 2015 Ford Mustang Convertible makes inappropriate appearance in Detroit [w/video]
Tue, 14 Jan 2014With the polar vortex fresh in the minds of Autoblog's Detroit-based staff, we're finding it funny that any manufacturer would choose January in the Motor City to show off a new and highly anticipated convertible to the general media and public for the first time. But Ford has done just that, giving us our first real peek at the new Mustang Convertible in the flesh.
The new Mustang Convertible is more or less unchanged from the standard coupe, with some subtle styling tweaks to accommodate the retractable soft top. Engine and transmission choices are identical to the hardtop, although we should expect slightly lower performance due to the hardware for the roof. Like the coupe, neither prices nor performance metrics have been published yet for the convertible.

2015 Ford Focus gets more Aston-y [w/video]
Tue, 04 Mar 2014With more and more members of the Ford brand adopting a new familial face, the Focus has been left looking like an odd man out. At the Geneva Auto Show, though, it properly rejoined the family, adopting the now familiar Aston Martin-ish grille that's proliferated throughout the range.
Overall, we're liking the refreshed Focus' look. Aside from the new grille, the headlights have been restyled and now look like elongated versions of the lamps on the Focus ST. Functionally, those headlamps are bi-xenon units, complete with an adaptive front lighting system. Out back, the rear retains the same overall look, which has been smoothed out for 2015.
In the cabin, the second-generation of Ford's much-maligned Sync system makes its debut. Sync 2, as it's called, is supposedly more intuitive than the first-gen system. Ford is promising "one-shot" navigation functions for the system. Saying "I'm hungry," should bring up a list of nearby restaurants. Of course, we'll be reserving final judgment until we can test the new system in person.
Jurassic Park made a big impact on these Jeep drivers
Thu, 12 Jun 2014For a certain cohort of young folks, Jurassic Park is a touchstone film from their childhood. Not only did it play into practically every little boy's love of dinosaurs, the movie included some great action scenes and special effects that still hold up today. In its latest video, The Aficionauto takes a look the Jurassic Park Motor Pool, a California car club with over 40 fans who created replica vehicles from the iconic film.
The club is made up of an interesting cross-section of people. Many of them were Jeep Wrangler fans that already loved off-roading and Jurassic Park, and liked the idea of bringing them together. Like any close-knit club, it ends up being about community and people coming together to share their interests. It's quite a heartwarming video. Also, be sure to stay until the end because The Aficionauto teases a future Jurassic Park-themed vehicle. Scroll down to check out the motor pool.
