This 1978 Ranchero was purchased new in Tulsa, OK and has always been in this area. The engine, transmission and other mechanical parts have been taken very good care of but the paint and body has not. It has a 351 Windsor engine, automatic transmission, AC, power steering, power brakes, remote left and right mirrors and cruise control. It has blue interior and dark blue paint. The AC compressor engages and it cools a little and may just need freon to cool. The engine is quiet and doesn't rattle or smoke. The transmission shifts good. Both front fenders are dented but the exterior body panels are not rusted through. All of the glass is good. It has had the carb rebuilt, new belts, brake work and other things that are on receipts. The data plate info: Color- 3AVW, DSO 52, Body- 97D, Trim LB, Sch date- 25A, Axle- 1 J 2:50, Trans- X, AC.

Jurassic Park made a big impact on these Jeep drivers
Thu, 12 Jun 2014For a certain cohort of young folks, Jurassic Park is a touchstone film from their childhood. Not only did it play into practically every little boy's love of dinosaurs, the movie included some great action scenes and special effects that still hold up today. In its latest video, The Aficionauto takes a look the Jurassic Park Motor Pool, a California car club with over 40 fans who created replica vehicles from the iconic film.
The club is made up of an interesting cross-section of people. Many of them were Jeep Wrangler fans that already loved off-roading and Jurassic Park, and liked the idea of bringing them together. Like any close-knit club, it ends up being about community and people coming together to share their interests. It's quite a heartwarming video. Also, be sure to stay until the end because The Aficionauto teases a future Jurassic Park-themed vehicle. Scroll down to check out the motor pool.
Martini Mustang is a 'what if moment' gone right
Wed, 23 Oct 2013Feast your eyes on a masterpiece. This is Steve Strope's Ford Mustang in the classic fastback bodystyle, and as you'll notice, it sports the signature colors of Martini Racing, a livery that's as legendary as any Gulf Racing-styled car. But the red, white and blues of the Martini stripe down this Mustang's middle tell only a very small part of the story, in the latest video from Petrolicious.
What would you guess is under the hood? A 289-cubic-inch V8? Maybe a 302, or some absurd Ford crate engine? Maybe Strope went all Tokyo Drift - he's actually responsible for the "Hammer" Plymouth Satellite driven by Vin Diesel at the end of the movie - and found an RB26DETT to drop into the pony car? You'd be wrong on all counts.
This mad, mad man somehow finagled a Ford-Lotus engine from a 1966 Indianapolis 500 car into the Mustang's engine bay. Yes, a Mustang with an engine designed for a 160-mile-per-hour, open-wheel racecar. That's like someone in 40 years dropping McLaren's 2.4-liter V8 from the MP4-28 into a Scion FR-S. It'd just make a monster.
