1994 Ford Ranger XLT. This is a very nice looking pickup, with the exception a few door dings which one would expect on a 19 year old vehicle the body overall is very straight. Also the interior is not perfect but on the other hand not bad for the age of the truck. The majority of the dings on the body are on the upper arch of the rear wheel opening on both sides, from being parked too close to another car in a garage. There is one small chip in the windshield and other than that all the rest of the glass is excellent.  The truck does have the sliding rear window. The factory radio has been replaced with a JVC brand player model KD-S36 player, which is in the hole but not hooked up. The truck still wears it's factory rally wheels with centers and the tires are Goodyear Wranglers with approximately 50% tread left. There is a factory Ford bed liner that looks brand new. The battery is approx. 1 year old and the clutch was replaced less than 6 months ago. the truck will start, run, and drive and sounds good as it should, but it has a freeze plug leaking that will need to be replaced before it will be road worthy. The bad freeze plug is on the right side of the engine up front under the exhaust manifold. With this fixed this truck has a lot miles left on it. The engine is the economical 2.3L  4 cylinder with a 5 speed manual transmission. The truck will need to be towed or hauled to it's new home. This would be an ideal 1st car for a new driver or an excellent work truck. I have tried to describe this truck to the best of my ability but have probably missed something that you need to know, if so just ask. If you would like to inspect the truck prior to the end of the auction again just ask and arrangements will be made.  Truck comes with a good Missouri title.

Ford Mustang hit by Moore' Oklahoma's EF5 tornado lives to do another burnout

Fri, 07 Jun 2013

Oklahoma recently saw the destructive power of an EF5 tornado, but in the aftermath of the devastation, we've also been witness to the incredible resilience of the human spirit. Moore, OK resident Jack Haden survived the storm but found that his 2003 Ford Mustang wasn't quite as lucky. As you can see in the image above, the tornado's 200+ mph winds did quite a number on the car, but while most people would have likely called their insurance company and scrapped the car, Haden had other plans.
After finding the car and seeing that its V6 still fired up, Haden spent a couple hours getting the car, um... roadworthy(?)... by removing the doors and front clip, cutting off the roof and putting on some new wheels and tires. He noticed that driving it around brought some comic relief to an area that needed a reason to laugh and smile. Check out the KSBI TV news report video below showing before and after pictures of the tough 'Stang, as well as a video showing the newly lightweight coupe doing a smoky burnout.

Toyota, Ford decide to end hybrid collaboration before it starts

Tue, 23 Jul 2013

Not all so-called Memorandum of Understanding pacts end in actual collaborations. For instance, after a two-year "feasibility study," Toyota and Ford have just announced that they will not be developing hybrid systems for use in light trucks and SUVs as previously planned, and the two automakers will instead continue to develop their own hybrid technology independently.
The would-be collaboration was first announced in August of 2011, and would have seen a rear-wheel-drive hybrid platform that would "improve the efficiency of trucks and SUVs while still allowing them to be driven in the way customers expect," according to our initial post on the topic.
Keep in mind that this announcement isn't to say we shouldn't expect hybrid pickups and SUVs from the two automakers, but that they probably aren't coming very soon - Ford says it will have a system "before the end of this decade" and we haven't heard much from Toyota on the hybrid truck front since the 2008 A-BAT Concept (pictured above) - and that they will not share any components between them (and they never have, for what it's worth).

Ford recalling 370,000 Crown Vic, Grand Marquis and Town Car models

Fri, 30 Aug 2013

The Detroit News is reporting that Ford will recall some 370,000 Crown Victoria (pictured), Mercury Grand Marquis and Lincoln Town Car vehicles from model years 2005 through 2011, for an issue regarding the lower intermediate steering shaft. 355,000 of the vehicles in question were sold in the US, with the other 15,000 sold in Canada.
The report indicates that corrosion of the lower intermediate steering shaft could cause a "loss of steering," presumably because of a partial or complete failure of the part. The report points out the dealers will inspect and replace the offending steering component for recalled cars, and may also secure a lower steering column bearing and replace the upper intermediate steering shaft as needed. The company is unaware of any reports of the faulty part causing any accidents or injuries.
Ford helpfully lists states in which corrosion is more likely to have taken place, mostly in the Snow Belt, as you might guess. Connecticut, Delaware, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, Virginia, Wisconsin, West Virginia, and the District of Columbia are listed.
