1995 Ford Ranger Splash Flareside on 2040-cars
Woodstock, New York, United States
1995 Ford Ranger Splash. V-6 3.0 liter engine. Power Steering, power locks & windows, remote starter (usually works), AM/FM MP3 player with cd (always works), tow package, bedliner. It runs very well and just passed inspection. The A/C compressor seized last season. I bought a new compressor & kit but it hasn't been installed. I'll include the A/C compressor and kit with the sale of the truck but you will need to install it to have air conditioning. Driver's side needs new power window motor and the ignition cylinder has recently gotten loose. That is a very inexpensive repair but I won't be doing it. The odometer also recently stopped working after inspection and I'm not sure if that's related to the looseness in the ignition???This truck is very reliable and has never left me stranded in the 6 years I've owned it. It runs great and rides very well although the body needs cosmetic work. The filler neck of the gas tank was replaced a few years back and the mechanic didn't put the relay wire back on when he put the gas tank back, so the gas gauge reads Full at all times. Again, that's an easy repair that I won't be doing.
This truck is sold as is with no warranty given or implied. |

Motor Trend pits Camaro 1LE vs Mustang with Performance Pack, surprises ensue
Thu, 16 Oct 2014With the 2015 Ford Mustang firmly on the scene, the inevitable comparisons with its arch rival, the 2015 Chevrolet Camaro are just starting to trickle out. Ford Fiesta 1.0L EcoBoost sales robust in early going
Tue, 13 May 2014Okay, okay, okay, so I was just a smidge wrong. Those that read my review of the Ford Fiesta with the new 1.0-liter, EcoBoost engine will know that while I really enjoyed the torquey little three-cylinder, I was concerned that Ford's decision to force 1.0-liter owners into a manual transmission, steel wheels and one trim level might hurt sales of the new engine. I was also concerned that the promised 45-mile-per-gallon highway rating wouldn't be enough to tempt buyers into trying an engine that's so far outside of what the general public is use to. My concerns, though, seem to have been for naught.
While not doing a booming business on the triple-equipped Fiesta, Ford is seeing a take rate of four to eight percent per month in the engine's first few months on sale. Now, four to eight percent might not sound like a lot - if, like last year, the Fiesta sells around 71,000 units, there'd be barely 5,600 1.0-liter models on the road. It is also small potatoes relative to the take rate on EcoBoost-equipped vehicles across the Ford range, which US sales analyst Erich Merkle estimates to be roughly 35 to 40 percent of retail sales. Still, according to The Detroit News, the 1.0-liter is getting adopted at roughly the same rate as the sparkling Fiesta ST, which should be a solid indication of just how well this little engine is doing.
The 1.0-liter's success "really speaks volumes, not just to what we're doing with the Fiesta, but with EcoBoost in general," Merkle told Autoblog.
Ford will probably never offer two RS models at the same time
Mon, 18 Mar 2013Autocar has some sour news for fans of go-fast Ford products. According to Roelant de Waard, Ford's president of marketing in Europe, the automaker will probably never offer more than one RS performance model for sale at the same time. That statement runs contrary earlier rumblings that suggested Ford would launch its next-generation Focus RS in 2015 and follow the hatch with a spate of other vehicles with an RS badge. But de Waard has made it clear that Ford of Europe is now focused on squarely on the next Mustang, even though there may be more RS models on the way eventually.
"What is clear is that the RS shouldn't be a series, or a car badge that we have in our portfolio all the time. It is an extreme car - something more than ST," he said.
That philosophy makes plenty of sense. We loved the old Focus RS - shown above in RS500 trim - because it was generally bonkers and plenty exclusive. Diluting either aspect is sure to end in disappointment for everyone involved.
