1999 Ford Ranger Xlt Extended Cab Pickup 2-door 4.0l on 2040-cars

Year:1999 Mileage:194759

Hartville, Ohio, United States

This truck is in Very Good condition.

It has brand new tires as of a couple months ago and a new set of spark plugs and wires as of a few weeks ago.  Brakes were serviced last fall.  Has had regularly maintenance of oil and etc.  AC works and runs cold, heater also works well.  There is a 2" towing ball attached to the bumper.  Also has power windows and a working cruise control. Frame is in great shape with only a very little show of surface rust, no pits or rust flakes!  The body does have several small dings and scratches, but nothing major.    A few other minor interior issues like a "door ajar" light that doesn't go off, some bite marks in the dash from previous owners dog, a whine from power steering which has been checked and double-checked and I'm told is common to many Rangers (fluid has not leaked), cruise control set button bracket is loose but works, power locks do not work, interior light sometimes stays on for a very long time before going off (has not affected the battery).

I purchased this vehicle about a year ago from a gentleman in NC who had used it in VA, KS, and OR with a lot of highway usage. I do not think he was the original owner, but most of the mileage was his.  I drove the truck primarily for work in a seasonal sales job during the warmer months (rarely in winter) so it has not seen typical Ohio winter use.

Reason for selling - We now live across the street from where my wife works so we no longer need the extra vehicle.

Your timely payment is greatly appreciated - a non-refundable down payment of $500 is required within 24 hours of the close of this auction via PayPal.  The balance remaining to be paid via PayPal or in cash before truck leaves premises and title transferred.  Seller prefers to have bidder pick up the vehicle, but is willing to ship it if bidder makes arrangements.  Seller will not be responsible for shipping.

I purchased this truck a year ago for $3,000. Current Kelly Blue Book value is listing at $2,600-$2,700 with all the appropriate options for this clean vehicle. One day left - happy bidding!

Chris Harris pits Fiesta ST against Mercedes G63 AMG in 0-60 battle... sort of

Thu, 01 Aug 2013

Vehicle performance tests are serious business, with reputations made or broken by things like braking distance, top speed, and lateral g-forces. King of the metrics, though, is the 0-60 run, which for unknown reasons has become the benchmark for what truly makes a car a performance machine.
Now, Chris Harris from Drive has turned the whole idea behind the sprint to 60 on its ear. Taking a new Ford Fiesta ST, Harris asks a simple question: would the ST be quicker to 60 on its own, or on a trailer being towed by a Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG?
It's a fair question, really. The Fiesta Harris tested hit 60 in 7.2 seconds on a slightly uphill section of runway. It should be noted that Harris quotes his ST at 182 horsepower, which is about 15 ponies less than what we're getting in the US, so these numbers might not hold up all that well against an American model. The G63 AMG, meanwhile, is a 536-horsepower monster, powered by a twin-turbo V8 that, able to propel the big SUV to 60 mph in just 5.2 seconds without towing a Fiesta.

Ford Escort returns, just not for US

Sat, 19 Apr 2014

Ford is set to give the burgeoning Chinese market its very own C-segment model, while also reviving one of the brand's more notable nameplates. The new Escort, which will make its world debut at the 2014 Beijing Motor Show will be built in the People's Republic at the Changan Ford joint venture facility.
The Escort's exterior is best thought of as a mix of the finer points from the US market Focus and Fusion, with the Aston Martin-ish grille and narrow, wraparound taillights presenting a clean look at either end of the car. It's all fairly true to the concept car from last year's Shanghai Motor Show. That said, this exterior job is almost too clean. There doesn't seem to be a lot of character or substance beyond the typical Ford looks.
There's a similar issue in the cabin - it all looks pretty nice, but the design is rather plain, particularly when viewed alongside the display-filled cabin of a US-spec car. Still, there looks to be a fair amount of space in both the front and back seats, and the trunk isn't exactly tiny, either.

2015 Ford Mustang production to begin on July 14? Not quite, says Ford

Thu, 10 Jul 2014

Mustang6g.com believes that it has unlocked start date for 2015 Ford Mustang production citing a Ford dealer communiqué. According to the report, job one on the 2015 hardtop will allegedly start in just a few days, on July 14, although units that are known as "OK to Buy" won't enter production until September 9. The cars built between those dates are most likely final pre-production cars for the executive test fleet, and will likely include the cars we'll be driving at the media launch.
Sun worshippers, meanwhile, would seem to have a longer wait. Job one on the droptop supposedly isn't slated to start until September 14, with production models starting on October 27. As is the case with the hardtop, these final pre-pros are for the execs and media to test, while actual dealer orders will come from vehicles made after the October date.
After speaking to Ford, though, we wouldn't put a great deal of stock in those dates as reported. We reached out to Said Deep, Ford's North American Product Communications Manager.
