This auction is for a 1957 Ford Thunderbird. The car is with its third owner who has owned it since the late 70s. The car has had 1 repaint since new, it is however in need of paint work, there are two dents (pictured) and some battle scars in the paint. It also had some kind of afterrmarket side molding on it at one time that has since been removed(PICTURED) .The interior is all there and shows some wear, to make car right would advise replacement of upholstery. Mechanically the car is very sound, it has always been maintained, and has been lightly driven once a month to keep the car alive. The engine was rebuilt in the mid 80s, and runs like  a clock, no smoke, no noises and runs very strong. The transmission was rebuilt 5 years ago, the brake system was overhauled 3 years ago. The power steering system and suspension were rebuilt 2 years ago. Cooling system, carb and complete tune up were done 2 years ago. The car has 85650 on the odometer, the current owner said the car had 55000 on it when purchased in the 70s. The car has no rust showing, the undercarraige is solid,a perfect canidate for a on frame restoration to have a very nice "baby bird" . Also includes the hard top (not pictured)

V6 engines will outpace V8s for the 2015 Ford F-150

Wed, 23 Jul 2014

How times have changed. Even five years ago, who would have thought the mighty V8 would be just another engine choice for buyers of the 2015 Ford F-150?
Ford is projecting about 28 percent of the next-generation trucks will have the 5.0-liter V8. That's nothing to sneeze at, but consider this: Ford figures its two EcoBoost truck engines - the new 2.7-liter V6 and the existing 3.5-liter V6 - will also each account for about 28 percent of the F-150's sales (56 percent total). That leaves only 15 percent of the pie for the 3.5-liter (non-EcoBoost) V6. The new F-150 goes on sale late this year.

2015 Ford Focus

Tue, 14 Oct 2014

Sitting down at the pre-drive briefing with Ford engineers ahead of sampling the refreshed 2015 Focus, water bottles clinked as we wet our whistles before Q&A. While pouring a glass, we noticed something stamped on the bottle label: "1L." One liter. We were palming the exact displacement of the EcoBoost engine our group was about to drive. This was undoubtedly coincidence (such bottles litter every conference and dinner table in Europe) but it served to drive home just how small the total swept volume of Ford's wunderkind powerplant really is. It's tiny.
Of course, this isn't our first run-in with the little triple - we've sampled its turbocharged charms before in Ford's smaller Fiesta. At that time, we found it had plenty of poke for the subcompact, but the larger C-segment Focus carries around another 450 pounds or so and pushes a wider profile through the air. Would the three-cylinder have the stuffing to make the most of the Focus' athletic chassis, or would it be a letdown? Would it be the same as it was when we tested it in a Euro-spec Focus a couple of years ago? There was nothing left for it but to head out on the bucolic roads surrounding Versailles the day after the Paris Motor Show and find out for ourselves.

Consumer Reports explains its disdain for infotainment

Thu, 20 Mar 2014

One of the perks of reviewing all manner of cars and trucks is that we're exposed to all the different infotainment systems. Whether Cadillac's CUE, Chrysler's UConnect, BMW's iDrive or MyFord Touch, we sample each and every infotainment system on the market.
Not surprisingly, some are better than others. It seems consumers have come to a similar consensus, with Consumer Reports claiming that Ford and Lincoln, Cadillac and Honda offer the worst user infotainment experiences. Not surprisingly, you won't find much argument among the Autoblog staff.
Take a look below to see just what it is about the latest batch of infotainment systems that grinds CR's gears. After that, scroll down into Comments and let us know if you agree with the mag's views.
