1966 Ford Thunderbird Convertible No Reserve!!! on 2040-cars
Lawrenceburg, Indiana, United States
Overall this is a great car. I bought it intending to restore it but am forced to move soon and cannot take it with me. The car currently runs well after having the heads completely reworked over the holidays. It starts right up and runs smooth. The brakes are not working after sitting all winter and I have never gotten the top to go up or down. I have driven the car out on the road after it was repaired. That said the car needs restoration but can be made a driver in less than a day with some brake work. Heads rebuilt completely - 12/13 New Starter - 12/13 New Alternator - 12/13 New Water Pump - 12/13 New Thermostat - 12/13 2 Barrel Carb Completely Rebuilt - 12/13 Restored Air Cleaner (Not correct year) - 12/13 New Coolant Hoses - 12/13 New Shift Lever - 1/14 (Does not slip out of gear) I am selling this car with a clean Indiana Title at NO RESERVE!!! The restored price of this car is $65,000 - It is considered rare due to the Factory Air, Electric Wind Wing Windows, etc. It also has real wood at the top of each door panel which is fantastic. You cannot go wrong here at my price. |

Watch Piquet and Mansell bend some sheetmetal in Ford Fusion GP
Tue, 12 Feb 2013As we told you about before, there were four episodes planned for the Ford Fusion GP campaign in Brazil, and the whole series has now run its course. The Ford ads pit Brazilian Formula One driver Nelson Piquet against English F1 pilot Nigel Mansell driving the new Fusion, the two coming together again after their partnership at the Williams F1 team ended in a miserable state more than 20 years ago.
They're lined up for you below, in reverse chronological order. You should watch number three first, though, as it adds a bit more spice to the NASCAR action in the fourth.
2013 North American Car and Truck/Utility of the Year finalists announced [w/poll]
Wed, 12 Dec 20122012 is almost in the books and automakers are spending December gearing up for the 2013 auto show season, which tips off next month at the Detroit Auto Show. Traditionally, the latter opens up with the announcement of the North American Car and Truck/Utility of the Year awards, and this year figures to be no different.
But up until this moment, we didn't know which six vehicles would be parked ahead of the stage as finalists, with executives and engineers waiting for the winners to be disclosed. Whittled down from October's "short list" of nominees (11 cars and 10 truck/utility vehicles), the finalists are as follows:
2013 North American Car of the Year:
Project Ugly Horse: Part V
Mon, 11 Feb 2013The Slippery Slope
I've had a healthy appreciation for cars that stop since one truly unfortunate incident with a runaway 1971 Lincoln Continental.
It's funny how quickly a party can turn from, "We're all having blast" to "What happened to the front of the house, and how many stitches do you think this is going to take?" Standing in a Mustang salvage shop in Kodak, Tennessee, I couldn't help but feel I had strayed into the latter territory with Ugly Horse. There was a supercharged 5.4-liter V8 plucked from a rear-ended Cobra sitting off to my left. The shelves were lined with second-hand Roush and SVT components galore, but I couldn't stop staring at a set of rotors with the approximate diameter of my chest.
