Rare 1966 Ford Thunderbird Q Code Car With 428ci/345 Hp Big Block on 2040-cars
Chattanooga, Tennessee, United States
This is not a Show Car
but a Super Cool Weekend Cruiser.
I am helping a Dr.
friend liquidate part of his car collection, as he is not longer able or
interested in enjoying and he wants someone else to enjoy (look for others to
come). He has owned the car for
7 years and did the following work sparing no expense by professionals: New
paint job with gold flake white color (beautiful); accent stripes, (2 slightly
different colors, that match the dash panels beautifully, new interior,
including headliner; complete exhaust system replaced; new brakes, new tires
and American Racing Wheels (perfect condition),
replaced the 4-barrel carb with after market Edelbrock (needs adjusting, and I
am in line with my mechanic to get that done, runs good at highway speeds, sluggish
when starting); Remote Pop-out door
openers (notice no handles) that are very nice. The car has rare electric
driver seat (manual passenger), and swing away steering wheel (easy entry
access). The power windows, even the power vent windows work great. All glass
is very good!
The car needs a new
trunk pad (available online for $115.00), and the radiator tank needs painting
(see pics) looks like it may not have been painted, or painted poorly. A couple
little nicks and a small piece if chrome trim around the passenger side head
light is missing ( I had not noticed this until a 74 yr old tire kicker who
spent 2 hrs with his magnifying glass pointed it out last weekend) and there is
a small scrape on the bumper
(got a little too close to his garage wall). The inside rear view mirror is
missing (arm is there) and the remote mirror on the drive door is cracked
(remote works good).
The car rides and drives
like a dream and has tons of power.
This car is not perfect
but a fantastic value, as you can cruise with it now (I have carried it out 3
times, and even my wife who hates old cars thinks it's "Hot".)
Classic Example of
Muscle and Luxury Indeed! The car is Beautiful, you will be impressed!
Please read this
carefully! If you have a feedback less than 20, don't bid unless you talk to
me. I will cancel and ban your bids. I learned the hard way (cost me $125 last
listing) that I can cancel your bid. If you are legitimate
and don't have to borrow the $$$ from your rich uncle or wait until your tax
refund comes in, we can deal. Do not show up and waste my time with a
silly low ball offer. If the car does not sell I am going to buy it
myself. My wife loves it, and I
have already made room for it.
I will try my best to
answer all your logical questions asap, so please contact me. The car is for sale
locally so I reserve the right to end the auction, so don't let it get away if
you want it!
Good Luck, thanks, steve in Chattanooga |

Rolling footage of the 2015 Ford Mustang hits YouTube [w/video]
Thu, 26 Dec 2013Just in time for the holidays: Ford took the 2015 Mustang to Route 66 to cook up rolling footage, and we've been given some of the leftovers ahead of the meal. There are no burnouts, no donuts, no revving, and thankfully, no music. It's just two minutes and 26 seconds of the new pony car running free in the desert.
So in case you needed more visualizing help, the video below will help you start imagining how you'll look in your 2014 Christmas present to yourself...
Mustang-themed pinball game debuting in Chicago [w/video]
Wed, 05 Feb 2014Believe it or not, but new pinball machines are still being made. Chicago-based Stern Pinball still makes them and has found a niche selling modern machines to individual buyers and arcade distributors. For its latest cabinet, Stern partnered with Ford to create a pinball game that pays homage to the 50th anniversary of the Mustang, including the next generation. The new machine is being unveiled at the Chicago Auto Show on February 6 and goes on sale in March.
Stern is offering the machine in three variants. The pro-level machine is meant for arcades and public spaces and retails for $4,995. All of them come with background and cabinet art by Camilo Pardo, who designed the Ford GT, and Top Gear USA host Tanner Foust is the game's announcer. Depending on where players shoot the ball, they activate events that simulate drag racing, rallying, drifting and racing the Mustang, and hitting targets lets players shift the gears up and down.
An upgraded, premium table with added art will be added later for pinball machine collectors. The third model is a signed, special edition with art of the 1965 Mustang and 2015 Mustang on the machine and chrome and Mustang badges on the speaker grilles. Prices for these editions will be announced later.
Ford opens 88 new dealerships in China in a single day
Mon, 23 Jun 2014"Ford opened 88 dealerships in China last year." "Ford opened 88 dealerships in China during the first half of 2014." "Ford opened 88 dealerships in China last month." None of those statements - even the last one - would seem unbelievable. Saying "Ford opened up 88 dealerships in China last Thursday," though, is a bit more dramatic.
Yes, on June 19 alone, Ford opened the doors on nearly 100 showrooms in the People's Republic, boosting the Blue Oval's total presence in the country to 750 dealerships. Of course, while an overabundance of dealers in the US proved troublesome for American manufacturers back in 2008 and 2009, there's no such concern in China. Considering the country's huge population and the breakneck pace of the local auto industry, you could be forgiven for being surprised Ford only has 750 outlets at this stage.
What's notable about this most recent push, besides the sheer volume of new stores, is their location. Over three-quarters of the new dealerships are in so-called Tier 4 cities, which are smaller towns that still contain millions of people. This fits with Ford's strategy in China of avoiding the bigger battlegrounds that are already dominated by competitors and focusing on setting up shop in newer markets that may have been overlooked, according to Automotive News.
