1970 FORD TORINO GT CONVERTIBLE.

THIS CAR IS ABSOLUTLY AWSOME.... VERY RARE..THERE WAS JUST OVER 3939 CONVERTIBLES MADE IN 1970. THIS ONE HAS THE ORIGINAL WHITE COMFORT WEAVE INTERIOR AND IS AN AUTOMATIC ON THE FLOOR WITH CONSOLE. THE CONSOLE WAS JUST RECENTLY RESTORE TO A NEW COND. IT HAS A BRAND NEW BLACK CARPET AND BRAND NEW DASH IN IT.( IF YOUR A TORINO GUY YOU KNOW THE DASHES IF YOU CAN FIND ONE COST UPWARDS OF $700).THE CAR WAS ORDEREDD WITH AN UPGRADED FMX TRANSMISSION AND SHIFTS BEAUTIFULLY. THE MOTOR IS A 351 CLEVLAND 4V AND HAS PLENTY OF GET UP AND GO TO SMOKE EM. I JUST PUT ON BRAND NEW FRONT AND REAR BUMPERS AND A BRAND NEW WHITE CONVERT. TOP BOOT.. THE TOP IS WHITE AND IS IN GREAT SHAPE EXCEPT FOR A VERY SMALL TEAR ABOUT AN INCH LONG BUT DOES NOT LEAK AT ALL..( IT DOESNT GO ALL THE WAY THRU).THIS WAS IS A TRUE AR. CAR THAT SPENT 90% OF ITS LIFE THERE AND THE OTHER 10% WAS IN CA. UNTIL I PURCHASED IT.THERE IS ABSOLUTLY ZERO RUST ON THE CAR ANYWHERE!!!.. THE CAR IS AS STRAIGHT AS AN ARROW TOO.THE SPEEDO INSTR. BEZEL WAS JUST RESTORED WITH NEW PLASTIC CHROME ( MOST OF THEM YOU SEE ARE WORN YELLOW AND UGLY)THE TOP GOES UP AND DOWN PERFECTLY.THIS CAR ALSO HAS HIDEAWAY HEADLIGHTS THAT HAS RECENTLY JUST BEEN RESTORED AS WELL TO NEW COND. AND THEY WORK PERFECTLY. WHEN I GOT THE CAR IT HAD A BROKEN UP GRILLE SO I CHANGED IT TO THE HIDEAWAYS..THE CAR HOWEVER DID NOT COME FROM THE FACTORY WITH THEM. ..THE PAINT IS OK.. IM NOT GOING TO LIE AND SAY ITS PERFECT BECOUSE ITS NOT, IT HAS THE TYPICAL NICKS AND SCRATCHES IN IT FOR BEING A DRIVER.. I USED TO DRIVE IT TO WORK ALOT AND I LIVE 70 MILES EACH WAY FROM MY WORK SO IT DOES HAVE SOME FLAWS BUT DRIVES PERFECT.

MY PLAN WAS TO BRING IT TO MY BUDDY WHO OWNS A LOCAL BODY SHOP AND HAVE HIM TAKE IT DOWN TO THE BARE METAL AND REPAINT IT  BLACK WITH THE FLAT BLACK HOOD AND I RECENTLY PURCHASED A REAR DECK SPOILER ( FORD PART) THAT I WAS GOING TO HAVE HIM PUT ON BUT DUE TO RELOCTING I DECIDED TO SELL IT.THE SPOILER WILL BE SOLD WITH THE CAR..AS WELL AS A BUNCH OF BRAND NEW PARTS I PURCHASED WHEN I WAS GOING TO DO THE REPAINT..THE PARTS ARE AS FOLLOWS: ALL BRAND NEW.. ALL THE EMBLEMS ( G.T.(2)..HASH MARKS(10)..QUARTER TORINO EMBLEMS(2)..NEW TWIST HOOD LOCKS..NEW WEATHER STRIPPING FOR DOORS AND TRUNK.. NEW ANTENA..NEW LASER STRIPE..BRAND NEW WHITE DOOR PANELS ( THES ONES ON THE CAR ARE FINE BUT THE DRIVER SIDE HAS ABOUT AN INCH RIP IN IT UNDER THE ARM REST..VERY HARD TO SEE)..THE PARTS ARE STILL IN THE BOXES AND TOTAL $1500-$1800... THEY ALL GO WITH THE CAR.

'Born of a Blue Sky' brings the Amelia Island Concours to you

Fri, 03 May 2013

The Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance has more clout every year and is getting a reputation as Pebble Beach minus the madness. Held in March this year, it celebrated Ducati and the 50-year anniversaries of Lamborghini, the Corvette Sting Ray, Porsche 911 and the Ford GT40.
Justin Lapriore was there, and seemingly everywhere, getting footage of the various wares on display on the lawns and the sand and the runway. The resulting video, Born of a Blue Sky, is a 16-minute survey of some of the finer sights and plenty of engine sounds. Check it out below.

2015 Ford Transit

Wed, 11 Jun 2014

As a segment, fullsize vans are stealth-fighter invisible on most consumers' radar. Visit a dealership for any of the four brands that offer them and you'll be lucky to find even one on display. These are commercial vehicles primarily, even more so than pickup trucks. Vans are the shuttles for plumbers, caterers, carpenters, concrete layers, masons, electricians, florists and flooring, and a huge part of this country's productivity is accomplished using them. At the moment, Ford is the 800-pound gorilla in that room - fully 41 percent of commercial vehicles wear a Blue Oval. So when Ford announced three years ago it would be ditching its commercial bread-and-butter E-Series, it meant the Transit that would be replacing the Econoline had huge, 53-year-old shoes to fill.
We were still a bit nostalgic about Econoline vans going away until going directly from the Transit first drive in Kansas City to an E-350 airport shuttle. Climb up through the Econoline's tiny double doors and bang your head on the opening, crouch all the way to your seat then enjoy a loud, rattle-prone, creaky, harsh ride on beam-hard seats while struggling to see out the low windows. This is an experience nearly every traveler has had. By comparison, the Transits we'd just spent two days with were every bit of the four decades better they needed to be. It cannot be understated just how much better the Transit is in every single way. The load floor is barely more than knee high. There's a huge side door, and hitting your head on a door opening is nearly impossible. Stand up all the way if you're under six-foot, six-inches - no more half-hunching down the aisle. There are windows actually designed to be looked out of. The ride is buttery smooth, no booming vibration from un-restrained metal panels and no squeaks. Conversations can be held at normal levels rather than yelling over the roar of an ancient V8. The seats are comfortable. The AC is cold. There are cupholders.
Enough anecdote-laying, what's in a Transit? We're talking about a very fullsized unibody van that's enjoyed a 49-year history in Ye Olde Europe. This latest iteration is part of the "One Ford" initiative, so it was designed as a global offering from the get-go, eschewing the body-on-frame construction the E-Series has used since 1975. Instead, the Transit integrates a rigid ladder frame into an overall frame construction made of high-strength cold-rolled and boron steel. The suspension is a simple but well-tuned Macpherson strut array up front with a rear solid axle and leaf springs.
