1971 Ford Torino on 2040-cars

Purchased this car from a local lady that had owned this car for many years. The drive train had been removed. The car was very solid with one very small hole in quarter panel and another in driver side floor pan which we replaced. Installed 351 2V Cleveland with automatic transmission from a 70 cougar. I had transmission professionally rebuilt last summer and installed all new... -timing chain -gears -alternator -fuel pump -plugs -wires -repainted 2 years ago -carpet -dash pad -tires on front -magnum 500 wheels -professionally reupholstered seats Car has been garage kept and driven less than 100 miles since restored. Has new headliner, still in box, needs installed. Car has absolutely no rust issues or bubbles in paint but does have some orange peel and does not shine as it should. Seems like it was not buffed and wet sanded as it should have.Don't bid expecting $30k car, but very straight and solid. Would be a great driver for summer, or sand and repaint for sharp ride. Car looks good from 20 feet but paint is not great. Shines better in photos than in person. I would suggest inspecting before sell ends. Car does need attention in the following: instrument bezel is foggy, needs radio, wiper and heater work, and has exhaust leak as you can hear in the video. The reserve is very fair on this car and I have described car honestly. I strongly suggest calling with any questions before bidding and please don't bid unless you are serious and have good feedback. Ford hybrids getting update to improve fuel economy
Tue, 16 Jul 2013Ford has announced that it is introducing "calibration updates designed to improve on-road fuel economy for owners of the 2013 Ford C-Max Hybrid, 2013 Ford Fusion Hybrid and 2013 Lincoln MKZ Hybrid."
We can speculate that these changes are at least due in part to lawsuits over mileage claims of hybrid vehicles. The automaker is enhancing 2013 models starting in August by raising their electric cruising speed to 85 miles per hour from 62 mph, optimizing the use of active grille shutters and the climate control system, shortening the engine warm-up period by 50 percent and reducing electric fan speed to minimize the fan's energy consumption.
It bears mentioning that Ford is doing pretty well in the US electrified vehicle market this year. The company claims to have grown its share in the segment by 12 points to 16 percent while taking a high number of Toyota Prius trade-ins in the process. Conversely, Toyota has experienced a five-percent drop in new-Prius sales over the same period. Additionally, Ford states that it has increased its share of the US vehicle market by one percent this year, more than any full-line automaker.
Ford Police Interceptor with 2.0L EcoBoost rated most fuel-efficient police sedan
Tue, 26 Nov 2013Back in September, Ford announced a non-pursuit version of its Police Interceptor Sedan, which swaps out a choice of two V6 engines for a fuel-efficient 2.0-liter EcoBoost inline four-cylinder. This Special Service Police Sedan will be marketed to law enforcement agencies looking to cut fuel costs and don't need the extra power.
For college campuses, detectives and the like, this new police car has now been certified with EPA fuel economy estimates of 20 miles per gallon in the city, 32 mpg on the highway and a combined rating of 24 mpg. These figures represent a decrease of two mpg in city and combined ratings compared to the civilian-spec 2014 Taurus. These police cars still offer active grille shutters for better aerodynamics, although we're guessing agencies upfitting their cars with light bars and push bumpers aren't exactly concerted with aerodynamics. The true benefit of the SSP version is when it's compared against other police sedan options like the Dodge Charger, Chevy Impala, Chevy Caprice and even the V6 Police Interceptor Sedan.
Ford claims the new Police Interceptor Sedan SSP is the most fuel-efficient current option for police departments, saying that this car can save $1,720 per car over three years and almost $260,000 over the same span of time for fleets with 150 vehicles. Ford hybrid sales rebound following MPG controversy
Sun, 31 Aug 2014Ford hybrid customers apparently have very short memories. With two EPA fuel economy reratings in the last year, sales of the C-Max, Fusion Hybrid and Lincoln MKZ haven't been too terribly dented, Ward's Auto reports.
All three vehicles saw sales dips following the August 2013 rerating, although sales of the MKZ Hybrid had begun to rebound as early as November of that year. C-Max sales, meanwhile, took slightly longer, with sales on a steadily improving course as early as February of this year.
The second rerating, in June of this year, has had an even smaller effect on the Blue Oval's hybrids. The C-Max has actually been subject to a sales increase, while both the MKZ and Fusion saw minor sales drops (less than 400 units between the two in the month following the rerating).
