2009 Gmc Sierra Crew Cab Z71 on 2040-cars
Deville, Louisiana, United States
Hi, I am selling my 2009 GMC Sierra Crew Cab Z71 Off Road truck with less than 39,000 miles. This truck is a one owner and has never been smoked in or taken off the road. I purchased this truck new in November of 2009 and have been the only user of this truck. This truck is in excellent condition with no flaws at all. Everything works and operates properly. I am selling it because of a new business opportunity that I am involved in and I need to upgrade to a 3/4 ton vehicle. The Kelly Blue Book on this vehicle with all options included is $28,500.00 and the NADA book value is $28,900.00. I am advertising to sell my truck here locally and reserve the right to cancel this if it sells. I do not have a shipping company arranged to ship the truck but I will work with anyone to arrange for the shipping. Also, I am located approximately 40 minutes from Alexandria airport. This truck is the SLE 1 package and has steering wheel controls, digital air condition display panel and dual power seats. It also has keyless entry, tilt cruise and power windows and locks. Again the truck is in excellent condition and with very low miles. Everything on it is stock except for the window visors and the running boards. Please feel free to contact me at any time to inquire about the truck. My phone number is 318 305-4388 and my email address is chadmcneal12@yahoo.com Thanks and good luck bidding.

GM tells NHTSA pickup truck electronic glitch is 'inconsequential'
Wed, 26 Feb 2014
General Motors has been enduring some serious problems with recalls recently, and it is hoping to avoid launching another major safety campaign. 200,921 2014 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra pickups are under the microscope due to a rare problem with their instruments, an issue GM calls calls "inconsequential to motor vehicle safety." The Detroit-based automaker believes that the glitch is so minor that it has filed a petition with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration asking the government safety watchdog for permission to pass on recalling the vehicles.
The fault at issue can occasionally cause the instrument cluster to reset when drivers use the steering wheel controls to browse songs from an external media device connected to the truck's USB ports. If a song's title information exceeds 2,000 bytes, according to The Detroit News, then the instrument panel can reset, which in turn causes the gauges, shift position indicator and cruise control telltale to turn off briefly. When rebooting, other instrument panel lights may briefly illuminate without their functions actually being activated. GM claims that if this does happen, the instrument display lights go out for about 1.5 seconds and the bulb check lasts a further five seconds. However, this snafu has no actual affect on the truck's operation. The glitch is present in trucks built between January 29, 2013, and October 28, 2013.
GM sweetens military discount for Buick, Chevy and GMC
Sun, 06 Oct 2013American servicemen and women interested in a new vehicle from Chevrolet, Buick or GMC now have a bit more incentive to head down to their local dealer, as General Motors has announced plans to improve its military discount program.
The new GM Military Discount Program offers eligible consumers a new Chevy, Buick or GMC at invoice pricing, which in some cases can take very large chunks out of a car's retail price. When factored in with other incentives, most of which are available with the Military Discount, the bargains are thick on the ground for members of the US armed forces.
GM's Retail Sales and Marketing Support general manager, Chuck Thomson, said, "GM has long supported the military and military families, and we hope this simplified and enhanced discount will show our appreciation for their service and help make it easier for them to own one of our great new vehicles." The program is open to all active duty and reserve members in the Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force, National Guard and Coast Guard, as well as veterans that have been out of the service for less than a year. Military retirees and their spouses are also eligible for the discount.

As immense fans of the Back to the Future trilogy, we sometimes like to envision an alternate timeline in which General Motors had killed off GMC and kept Pontiac instead. The G8 GXP would still be on the road handily beating German sport sedans costing twice as much, while the lowly G3 would morph into a true subcompact-killer based on what is now the Chevrolet Sonic RS. While we're at it, let's go ahead and imagine the G6 has become the best-selling car in the US and the Torrent crossover is selling 20,000+ units per month. Far-fetched, we know.
The thing is, these fanciful statements would have to be true to make the case against keeping GMC. Pontiac may have offered more excitement than GMC, but money talks, and a full line of trucks, crossovers and SUVs have made a lot more money for GM than the arrowhead brand ever did. How much? As we learned last month, about two-thirds of GM's global profits came from its fullsize trucks, and GMC's trucks typically have thicker margins than their Chevrolet counterparts.
