Selling my 2002 GMC Sierra 2500 HD 4X4 Crew Cab pickup truck. Approximate Mileage: 102,000 miles

Exterior

Various light scratches around the truck.  Overall the truck maintains its shine except the top portion of the fender flares.  There are some areas on the roof that the clear coat is coming off.  BFG All Terrain tires in OK shape but will need to be replaced soon.  For a more aggressive look I do have a set of BFG Mud Terrain's with 70% of tread intact with American Racing rims that will be sold with the truck.  See photos.

Interior

Great condition.  Only significant issue is the driver side arm rest is worn from use and the painted steering wheel has some ring chips. No tears or holes.  Carpet and other interior pieces in great condition.

Mechanical

Truck runs great.  Occasionally you will need to turn the key twice to start it....this appears to be a tuning issue with the "SuperChip" 93 Octane performance setting versus the 87 Octane setting. All regular maintenance has been done.  The truck runs SuperChipped to account for larger tires and to improve fuel economy (approx. 11 to 12 MPG) and the original truck settings are stored on the computer if Buyer wishes to restore to factory settings the "SuperChip" is included in truck sale.

Extras & Additional Truck Features

  • (4) BFG Mud Terrain LT 315/75R16 with American Racing rims
  • SuperChip computer with Stored factory settings
  • 6" Lift
  • Custom Grill
  • Side Steps
  • Dual Exhaust

GM recalling 118K Colorado, Canyon pickups over missing hood latches

Thu, 20 Dec 2012

General Motors has announced a recall of 118,800 Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon pickup trucks due to the possibility of secondary hood latches not being installed at the time of manufacture. The affected vehicles are from the 2010, 2011 and 2012 model years, all of which were built between November 9, 2009 and August 28, 2012.
According to the official National Highway Traffic Safety Administration report, these trucks fail to "comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 113, 'Hood Latch System.' The hood may be missing the secondary hood latch." In other words, owners of these trucks could find their vehicles' hoods opening unexpectedly while driving.
The official recall campaign is expected to begin on January 17, 2013. Dealers will inspect the affected pickups and if a secondary hood latch is not present, one will be installed free of charge. Scroll down to read the official NHTSA report.

GM trademarks 'GearOn,' possibly for pickups

Fri, 13 Jun 2014

On May 27, a week before General Motors applied for a trademark for the word "Zora," GM filed a trademark application at the US Patent and Trademark Office for "GearOn," characterized as a "truck bed cargo system comprised of tiered storage cross rails, utility rack stanchions, cargo dividers and cargo tie down rings."
We have no idea what it will be or if we'll see it used on anything, but GM Authority reckons it could be GM's name for a pickup truck feature to rival the BoxLink system Ford introduced on the 2015 F-150. BoxLink has been described as having "dozens of configurations of stowable cargo ramps and lockable die-cast aluminum tie-down cleats," giving owners the ability to arrange the bed in they way they need and load unwieldy items like motorcycles without needing extra equipment.
Getting purely speculative, a month ago GM pickup truck engineers said there would be more and more regular updates for the Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra starting next year. Beyond the suspected capability and fuel economy changes GearOn could be one of the "neat things coming in a whole host of areas."

GM recalling over 243,000 crossovers over possible seat belt defect

2010 Buick Enclave - Click above for high-res image gallery
The summer of 2010's recall hit parade continues unabated today, with General Motors having just announced that it is asking 243,403 owners of its 2009-2010 Lambda crossovers to bring their three-row haulers in for inspection. The culprit? Second-row seat belts in select Buick Enclave, Chevrolet Traverse, GMC Acadia, and Saturn Outlook CUVs have "failed to perform properly in a crash."
According to GM, a second-row seat-side trim piece is to blame, as it can impede the upward rotation of the buckle after the seat is folded flat. As a result, if the buckle makes contact with the seat frame, cosmetic damage can occur, potentially requiring additional force to operate the buckle properly. So far, no great shakes, but in the process of applying that additional force, the occupant may push the buckle cover down to the strap, potentially revealing and depressing the red release button. As a result of this, the belt may not latch, or in certain cases, it may actually appear to be latched when, in fact, it isn't.
