2005 Gmc 2500hd Ext. Cab Longbox Diesel Slt on 2040-cars

I bought the truck off of the original owner in 2008 with 90,000 miles. He was a carpenter on the northshore and was building a house on the southshore thats how it got 90,000 miles in three years. I used the truck to commute from the southshore into the city. I towed a snowmobile trailer twice a year round trip 500 miles six times. All highway miles. When i purchased the truck i put a new factory rear bumper with new pads on ,it was dented on both ends. I also put a new factory front bumper on i bent the left side and replaced the hood with a factory one it had some rust on the inner lip. The rest of the truck is original paint. It has rust on the left rocker and lower inner left rear door. The truck is straight and clean and runs great. I always changed the oil every 3,000 miles it doesn't leak or use oil. I replaced the front calipers and rotors and pads about 3,500 miles ago. I replaced the batterys with GM ones. Replaced the idler pulleys and belt. I replaced the blower motor with a GM one. Replaced the left and right lower latches with GM ones. The windshield was just replaced. I have the original mirrors that go with the truck. I replaced the power steering hoses with GM ones. The only thing that doesn't work is the drivers side heated seat and a couple of lights in the speedo cluster.

GM recalling 22K Silverado and Sierra trucks for seat issue
Wed, 09 Oct 2013General Motors will recall 21,721 of its new 2014 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra pickups over front seats that could move if the vehicle is hit from behind. Affected vehicles all feature manual adjustments for the two front seats, according to a report from Automotive News.
Of the nearly 22,000 vehicles covered under the action, the overwhelming majority - 18,972 -- were sold in the United States. A further 2,575 were sold in Canada, while 103 were shipped south of the border to Mexico. Finally, another 71 were sold outside North America altogether. As of right now, there are no reports of injuries due to the defect.
Naturally, Chevy and GMC dealers will make the repairs free of charge, although it's not clear as of this writing if GM will be notifying owners or just addressing the issue at the truck's first service.
GM planning to put its fullsize pickups on a big diet, too
Fri, 19 Jul 2013General Motors is just coming off a complete redesign of the Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra for 2014, but in the US fullsize truck market, there is no rest for the weary. According to Reuters, plans are already unfurling for both trucks to drop pounds from their curb weight over the next few years, but this will unlikely be able to keep pace with the 700-pound diet targeted for the next-generation Ford F-150, a truck expected to debut late next year.
The biggest weight reduction for these trucks might not be available until the next full redesign, which will likely happen around 2019, but the article says that smaller updates could shave pounds in the meantime. Two examples given include an "aluminum-intensive" version of the Silverado that could shed 250 pounds and debut around the same time as the lighter-weight, aluminum-bodied 2015 Ford, and there is also talk of reducing weight for driveline components such as axles and driveshafts. These changes are all part of an attempt to meet strict new fuel economy standards coming in 2017, targets which will get even tougher in 2025.
J.D. Power customer survey of dealers counts Cadillac, Buick as big winners
Mon, 14 Apr 2014Cadillac and Buick have taken the trophies in J.D. Power's latest Customer Service Index Study examining satisfaction with dealer service. Surveying more than 90,000 owners and lessees of 2009-2013 model-year cars, the study found that those with pre-paid maintenance packages were ten percent more likely to buy their next car from the same brand.
Dealer satisfaction scores have improved overall, Cadillac nabbed the luxury segment ahead of Audi and Lexus, taking the crown that Lexus held last year. Buick keeps the mass-market dealer satisfaction win in the family, finishing ahead of Volkswagen and last year's winner GMC. The study also found that service department use of tablets increased customer satisfaction, as did "best practices" like "providing helpful advice." Who knew?
