This is a 1996 GMC SONOMA SLE 4X4 EXTENDED CAB. If you are tired of looking at high mileage trucks that are beat to death, this is your truck! This truck was never used for work and it shows! You will be hard pressed to find another with low miles and in this superb condition. The truck runs perfect and everything works including the air conditioning. It has a clean Autocheck report with no accidents or other issues. This is a get in and drive away Sonoma needing no known repairs. It only has 91,240 miles. As you know, this is just broken in with these low miles. I have a friend who has over 325,000 miles on his 1999, and it runs perfect. Driving impression is outstanding....the steering is tight with no wander. The 4x4 works as it should. The transmission shifts perfectly and the motor is quiet and responsive. All power equipment works including the power windows and cruise control. The air conditioning is ice cold. There are literally no rattles or squeaks in the body!! This truck is VERY TIGHT and goes down the road like 2010 model with half the miles!! As you can see the truck is equipped with a fiberglass cap. The cap has been on since the truck was new!! It has protected the bed so that there is no rust in the bed whatsoever. It you have no need for the cap, it has been installed with clamps. THERE ARE NO HOLES DRILLED IN THE TOP RAIL. GM to offer 2 years free maintance on most 2014 models
Thu, 06 Jun 2013A day after Ford announced it was scaling back the complimentary maintenance program for its Lincoln brand, General Motors has gone in the completely opposite direction, offering most of its 2014 lineup with free maintenance. Since 2011, Cadillac models have all come with a four-year/50,000-mile complimentary maintenance program, but Chevrolet, Buick and GMC vehicles will now come standard with free maintenance for two years or 24,000 miles for the 2014 model year.
The program will give vehicle owners and lessees free oil changes, tire rotations and 27-point inspections following the recommended maintenance schedule laid out in each vehicle's owner's manual. We contacted GM to see which vehicles were eligible for the program, and a spokesperson got back to us with the following comment:
"All 2014 models are eligible, it's just that the included services vary by model, e.g., Spark EV would not need oil changes, Corvettes don't recommend tire rotations."
2015 GMC Sierra Elevation Edition goes dark, looks good
Fri, 19 Sep 2014Forget about the so-called sporty Chevrolet Silverado Rally Edition. If you want a General Motors pickup with some added style, this one looks like a more cohesive, well-done package to our eyes (though it's also not "sporty," despite GM using that term over and over again). It's called the GMC Sierra Elevation Edition, and it hits dealerships later this year.
For its more stylish truck, GMC has fitted the 2015 Sierra Double Cab with a body-colored grille surround, door handles, mirror caps, side moldings and bumpers. The truck also rides on black 20-inch aluminum wheels.
The Elevation Edition, which GMC contends qualifies as a sport truck, comes standard with the Sierra's 285-horsepower, 4.3-liter V6, though buyers can opt for the more powerful 5.3-liter V8 with 355 hp. Other standard goodies include OnStar with 4G LTE connectivity and Bluetooth, all housed in the 4.2-inch Intellilink color display.
GM phasing out light-duty 1500-series vans
Mon, 16 Jun 2014In the market for a fullsize van but don't need a heavy-duty model? You're in the minority, and you're also out of luck. That's because there are barely any more fullsize vans on the market with gross vehicle weight rating of less than 8,500 pounds, the threshold that separates light- and heavy-duty vans.
According to PickupTrucks.com, neither the Ford E-Series, Ram ProMaster, nor Mercedes-Benz Sprinter are available in light-duty versions. Few of the Ford Transit configurations are, either, and now General Motors is discontinuing production of the 1500-series Chevy Express and GMC Savana.
Apparently light-duty versions accounted for just 23 percent of Express sales and only 7 percent of Savanas. Add to that the fact that these 1500 versions were the only ones using the old generation of engines and suspension, and that the Wentzville plant near St. Louis, Missouri, is trying to make room for the next Chevy Colorado and GMC Canyon pickups, and the fate of the light-duty GM van was sealed.
