Up for auction is my GMC Suburban Sierra Classic with the 350 cubic inch fuel injected engine.  It has an automatic overdrive transmission and manual locking front hubs.

It is in very nice, nearly all original condition.  The only thing that isn't original is white paint and lower strip of tan paint that was redone a short time back.  The only portion of tan that was re-painted was from behind the front wheel well back.  It was redone because some of the clear coat was peeling on the white and there were some small rock chips on the lower tan portion.  The re-paint portion is not car show quality, but is decent.

It is a Colorado and Wyoming vehicle that is rust free, with the exception of one small rust bubble under the edge of the passenger side mirror and one on the inside bottom edge of the rear passenger door.  The under carriage has no road salt rust damage.  It has a small ding on the right rear corner of the cab approximately 2 feet above the right rear tail light.  It has a dent in the rear bumper at the driver side center.  Other than that, it is in very nice shape for its age.  The paint on the hood and roof is very nice and shiny and the dash is in very nice condition, so I believe this confirms what I was told from the previous owner, that it was always kept in the garage and very well maintained.

The tires have approximately 60% of the tread left.  They are Goodyear Wranglers.

All of the power train parts are original and are in good working order and have been serviced and well maintained or have been replaced as needed.

It does have a new windshield.

It starts, runs, drives and stops very well.  It has a slight wandering issue in steering if on a very uneven road.  The AC works, but is not ice cold, so probably needs a little Freon.  We don't need AC here in Wyoming.  The rear AC unit fan rattles a little when it is running. The right rear door lock sticks a little, you just have to click the lock button a couple of times.  The left rear seat belt has been replaced at sometime, but with a grey one and it does not roll up right.  It does have an under the dash stereo CD player installed that works great even though the antenna is broken off.  The factory stereo is still in the dash, but is not hooked up.  The front seat cloth upholstery is starting to separate a little at the pleats in the center of bottom cushion.

I have tried to list all of the little flaws.  It is a very nice classic body style older Suburban that runs and drives very nice and is quite dependable.  Again, it is a 4 wheel drive.  I wouldn't hesitate to take a trip in it anywhere. I believe it is a very trust worthy vehicle with a classy looking color and the more unique GMC look.

I do have some contacts for shipping and will assist in anyway I can with them.  If you aren't able to pick up immediately, I can store the truck inside my garage for a little while (with prior arrangements).

I can email more pics if needed.

If you have any question feel free to call Jon at (361) 960-1650 or send an email.

I do reserve the right to end this auction early since I do have the truck for sale locally.

If you have zero Ebay transactions, please contact me before bidding or your bid may be rejected.

Thanks for looking and bid with confidence.

Pickup sales may hit 2M units for first time since 2007

Sat, 21 Sep 2013

Even as fuel prices creep back up, trucks are still a hot item among new-vehicle shoppers. To see how popular pickup trucks still are, you don't have to look any further than how much effort automakers put into the continual one-upmanship of their trucks. Backing this fact up, USA Today is reporting that the segment could top two million sales this year - a total not matched since 2007, though still far from the pre-recession, three-million-unit levels.
Through August, the Ford F-Series continues to be the segment leader with almost 500,000 units sold, but the Chevy Silverado (328,269), Ram 1500 (234,642), GMC Sierra (122,232) and Toyota Tacoma (110,293) are all seeing at least 20-percent sales increases, helping to account for around 1.44 million truck sales so far this year - not including possible outliers like the Suzuki Equator and Chevy Avalanche.
This year alone, General Motors has completely redesigned its fullsize trucks, Ram and Toyota have significantly updated their offerings, the next-gen Ford F-150 will be out next year and Nissan is promising an all-new Titan around the same time with an eventual Cummins diesel under the hood. It would seem, then, that truck sales are poised to continue their upward trend.

2015 GMC Canyon

Wed, 24 Sep 2014

As discussed earlier today, the 2015 Chevrolet Colorado is a new standout in terms of midsize trucks. But the Colorado wasn't the only pickup the General Motors team brought to San Diego for us to sample. Also along for the ride was a pack of GMC Canyons, the slightly more expensive and polished platform-mate to the Chevy.
There's no question that the Canyon and the Colorado are a lot alike under the skin - almost entirely, in fact - so GMC has worked to first create some daylight between the two trucks by way of sheetmetal. This is most obvious from the front view, where the blocky and blingy GMC grille replaces the more subdued tone and shape seen on the Chevy's nose. Projector headlights with LED running lights come as standard, and, again, with the squared-off look that is typical of the brand. 16-inch aluminum wheels come stock on the GMC, too, with the 17-inchers seen on my photo truck offered as standard equipment on the top-trim SLT.
GMC considers the Canyon to be the only premium truck in the segment (which is clearly true), and the team has spent a ton of time and effort to get the interior correct to prove out that point. "Any trim that looks like metal, is metal," I was told at the product briefing, a certain indication that the company is serious about bringing a new class of buyer to a truck segment that it hopes to redefine.

2015 GMC Yukon erupts into flames during Anaheim test drive [w/video]

Mon, 24 Mar 2014

A 2015 GMC Yukon burst into flames while on a test drive in Anaheim, CA on Sunday after smoke filled the cabin. Residents of the neighborhood where the driver abandoned the redesigned Yukon reported hearing a series of small explosions (likely the tires, based on the video), according to a report from KTLA and The Los Angeles Times.
No one was injured in the incident, which The Times reports occurred after a possible oil or fluid leak. As you can see in the image above, the Yukon was engulfed in flames, although the Anaheim Fire Department was able to put out the blaze in about 15 minutes.
"We're very lucky that no one got hurt, and it was in an area that... was safe," Lt. Tim Schmidt of the Anaheim Police Department told KTLA reporters. "If there was any place that was going to be safe, it would be this area. It's very open. It worked out for us."
