2003 Yukon XL 4WD. WE BOUGHT THIS YUKON NEW AND STORED INDOORS IN CALIFORNIA. REPLACED THE ENGINE. PLEASE COMPARE TO OTHERS. IT IS WELL CARED FOR AND LOOKS EXCELLENT.

This listing is long. You can read all the details but let me get your attention right away.

We bought this Yukon new. It is our 1 owner car with many options including 4WD. See the window sticker we still have, $48,102 selling price. There was a 100,000 warrantee included. We have all records of repairs, tires, oil changes. It has 235,000 miles and we just replaced the engine. This Yukon presents itself like a car with about 60,000 miles. It is by far the cleanest and perfect running 2003 Yukon XL you will ever see. It has about every option including 4WD, very little wear and almost perfect leather, and a $2000 Rosen DVD system. We drove it from Southern california to Oregon every month. The carpets, interior, and exterior validate the very low wear on the SUV. LOOK AT THE PICTURES FIRST AND THEN READ ABOUT THE YUKON.

Equipment off the window sticker:

Autotrac 4WD, self-leveling rear shocks, 16" polished cast alumium wheels, Tow/haul mode, anti-lock brakes, battery rundown protection, child security doors, remote keyless entry, Tri-zone A/C and heat, Power heated mirrors, Programable auto door lock system, Alarm system, Roof luggage rack, 31 gallon fuel tank, SLT with neutral tan leather, Side running boards, Bose 9 speaker audio with 6 CD changer in dash, Carpet mats, Rear sun shade, Power adjustable pedals, XM satellite radio, ONSTAR, Steering wheel controls, Universal garage door opener, Front and side airbags, Power sunroof, Heated front seats, Trailering package, 3:73 rear stabilitrack locking diff. $7,602 worth of options!!

Here is the long history. We bought it new in 2003. We have family property in Oregon and drove the 2000 mile trip every month for years. Sometimes twice per month. This put many miles on the Yukon, but very little wear due to the long freeway trips. Family miles. Some simple, usual,  items were replaced along the way under warrantee, fuel pump, trans work, etc, (its all in the stack of papers) but the Yukon was driven by a Naval Officer for 10 years and stored indoors.

It looks almost new still. It ran perfect even at 230,000 miles. Wanting to ensure nothing unexpected would happen, we spent $2500 to replace the engine 5K ago. The work was done by a GM Goodwrench mechanic and an engine was used from a dismantled GM with 90K on it. The engine compartment was detailed and all new parts and gaskets used, like hoses, water pump, etc. The engine had a 6 month warrantee and it runs perfect. We did this with every intention of keeping it forever. But we just decided to downsize to a small SUV like a CRV or Highlander. The Yukon now has 235K on it.

I am very very picky and honest. There are a few dings and rock chips but you can see how very clean and presentable it is. Always stored indoors. Solid California SUV and not a spec of rust. Nothing like anything else being sold. Look at every area when comparing Yukons and you will conclude this is the best and the one you want. I have a 100% feedback for a reason. Selling fair and being upfront always works best. We want you to enjoy the Yukon and feel it was fair buy. If in Southern California you may want to see the car. We placed a reserve but it is not even as high as those worn out Yukons being sold. You will NOT be disappointed with this Yukon.

2015 Chevy Silverado, GMC Sierra can tow up to 12,000 pounds

Thu, 19 Jun 2014

Think back to the launch of the 2014 Chevrolet Silverado. At the time, General Motors happily trumpeted that its fullsize pickup could tow up to 11,500 pounds when properly equipped - impressive stuff, no doubt. But now, revised tow rating practices have been put into place, called SAE J2807. And with these new methods of testing, GM can now officially rate both the Silverado and its GMC Sierra twin as being able to tow up to 12,000 pounds.
Of course, not all Silverado and Sierra models are capable of this feat. In fact, because of SAE J2807, most of the truck models have actually had decreases in tow ratings from the 2014 to 2015 model year. For example, a 2014 Silverado Crew Cab with the 5.3-liter V8, 5.7-foot box and 3.73 rear axle was rated at 11,200 pounds in 2014, but has since been reduced to 10,800 in 2015. Same goes for the Sierra.
But for 2015, both the Silverado and Sierra can be had with a more powerful 6.2-liter V8, as well as a Max Trailering Package that includes a 9.76-inch rear axle, heavy-duty rear springs, revised shock tuning, improved cooling and a new trailer brake controller. There are also four- and seven-pin, bumper-mounted connectors, a trailer hitch (duh), and a G80 locking rear differential. This configuration, with either model, is the only way you can actually tow 12,000 pounds.

GM SUV window switch recall urges owners to park vehicles outside

Thu, 07 Aug 2014

It's not unusual for there to be a lag between an automaker announcing a recall and the official documentation showing up on the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration website. So it's no surprise that a recent GM campaign took about a month to appear in its official capacity. However, there appears to be some big differences between the two reports with potential safety implications.
In late June, GM announced that it needed to recall 181,984 examples of the Chevrolet Trailblazer, Buick Rainier, GMC Envoy, Isuzu Ascender and Saab 9-7x from the 2005-2007 model years, plus the 2006 Chevy Trailblazer EXT and 2006 GMC Envoy XL. The new documents paint a slightly different picture with 184,611 needing repaired and different model years listed.
The reason for the fix is still the same, though. It's possible for fluid to contact the master power window switch module in the driver's door, which can corrode the part. Eventually this could cause a short circuit, leaving the buttons inoperable and potentially leading to a fire. But the new NHTSA documents add an important note: "A fire could occur even while the vehicle is not in use. As a precaution, owners are advised to park outside until the remedy has been made."

GM tells NHTSA pickup truck electronic glitch is 'inconsequential'

Wed, 26 Feb 2014

General Motors has been enduring some serious problems with recalls recently, and it is hoping to avoid launching another major safety campaign. 200,921 2014 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra pickups are under the microscope due to a rare problem with their instruments, an issue GM calls calls "inconsequential to motor vehicle safety." The Detroit-based automaker believes that the glitch is so minor that it has filed a petition with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration asking the government safety watchdog for permission to pass on recalling the vehicles.
The fault at issue can occasionally cause the instrument cluster to reset when drivers use the steering wheel controls to browse songs from an external media device connected to the truck's USB ports. If a song's title information exceeds 2,000 bytes, according to The Detroit News, then the instrument panel can reset, which in turn causes the gauges, shift position indicator and cruise control telltale to turn off briefly. When rebooting, other instrument panel lights may briefly illuminate without their functions actually being activated. GM claims that if this does happen, the instrument display lights go out for about 1.5 seconds and the bulb check lasts a further five seconds. However, this snafu has no actual affect on the truck's operation. The glitch is present in trucks built between January 29, 2013, and October 28, 2013.
