Here is a nice running old Civic Hatchback. It has been sitting for a couple of years as a spare vehicle and driven occasionally. The engine had an upper end (head) job at around 150k, but everything else is original, even the clutch. It starts and runs flawlessly, tires are at 95% and all the same, all electrical systems work, no cooling issues, leaks or smoking, no funny sounds etc. It could use a muffler as there is a rattling sound in the muffler and the tailpipe weld is failing. This will pass California smog, and a cerificate will be issues if it is sold in California, which is good for 90 days. The AC is factory, but is the older R12 type and should be retrofitted to R134. The compressor runs when applying power to the pressure switch, but we can't gurantee what happens if it's charged up. The interior is remarkably clean, with a small fabric tear in the drivers upper side, and some small surface damage to the rear of the headliner. The passenger seat, rear seat, luggage cover, dash and door panels are really clean. There is a small indentation type dent in the left front, but this never reached the hood, headlights or door seam, so it's an easy fix. The paint is shot on all the horizonal surfaces due to the clear coat peeling. There is absolutely no rust on the body at all. There is some surface rust on the steel wheels where the paint has peeled, but it's light surface only. It has an aftermarket Pioneer radio (cassete) which does work in AM, FM and cassete mode. This is a two owner car, with the second owner since the early 90's. Please feel free to ask questions and thanks for looking.

Analysts say Honda's growing woes in Europe not just the economy
Tue, 12 Feb 2013There is no denying that the European auto market is taking its lumps right now - just ask Peugeot - but Honda might be taking this downturn on the chin a little harder than some of the other Japanese automakers doing business on the continent. Automotive News Europe is reporting that things have gotten so bad for Honda that it will be cutting 800 workers from Swindon, England plant that builds the CR-V, Civic and Jazz (a.k.a. Fit). This will be the first time Honda has made such cuts in more than 20 years.
Despite an increase in output last year over 2011 (165,607 units compared to 97,459), the Swindon plant is still running well below its full capacity (250,000/year), and its 66 percent capacity is less than the expected breakeven point of industry analysts (75 to 80 percent). Unlike in the US, however, Honda's new CR-V and Civic aren't selling well, and the similarly sized Nissan Qashqai is outselling the CR-V at a rate of more than five to one. Slow CR-V sales are blamed on a relatively high price and the crossover's conservative styling. On the complete opposite side of the spectrum, the report notes that Nissan continues to experience growth at its UK operations, leading analysts to suggest that Honda can't blame the sour economy for much of its woes.
Honda motorcycles most stolen, just like Honda autos
Tue, 26 Nov 2013It comes as no surprise that Honda's Civic and Accord are the most stolen cars in America, but as it turns out, thieves like the company's motorcycles the most too, according to a study by the National Insurance Crime Bureau (NICB). Out of the 46,061 two-wheelers stolen in 2012, 9,082 of them were Hondas. While that's bad news for Honda motorcycle owners, at least motorcycle theft went down slightly from 2011, which had 46,667 reported thefts. Motorcycle theft recoveries, on the other hand, were just 39 percent.
Yamaha is up next in the theft rankings (7,517), then Suzuki (7,017). The numbers drop a bit for fourth and fifth place, Kawasaki (4,839) and Harley-Davidson (3,755). These five brands are far and away the most stolen motorcycles: sixth place, apparently held by scooter, dirtbike and ATV maker Taotao, dropped to 914 theft reports.
California had the most reported thefts (6,082), followed by Florida (4,110), Texas (3,400), North Carolina (2,574) and Indiana (2,334). By city, New York City had the most reported thefts (903), followed by Las Vegas (757), San Diego (633), Indianapolis (584) and Miami (535.
eBay Find of the Day: 1985 Honda City Turbo II is JDM forbidden fruit you can own
Fri, 14 Feb 2014It's always fun to cruise different global eBay Motors sites and check out the cars that we never got here. Thankfully, America's 25-year import limit on cars means that some of the rarities from the 80s are finally legal on these shores. This 1985 Honda City Turbo II is a great example of a fun, little car that we never got new but can be made legal here now.
The City was basically the Japanese company's '80s equivalent of today's Fit, albeit significantly smaller. The little urban runabout was so popular in its basic form that Honda decided to take things up a notch and turbocharge it. That car sold enough to warrant an even higher performance version called the Turbo II, which added an intercooler and the flared fenders you see here. The latter helped it earn the nickname "bulldog" for its boxy, aggressive appearance.
Honda claimed at the time that its little 1.2-liter, turbocharged four-cylinder produced 109 horsepower and 118 pound-feet of torque with a five-speed manual. In a car that weight just 1,620 pounds, you can imagine it was a very entertaining little package.
