FOLLOWING SERVICE HAS JUST BEEN DONE: (Over $1000 in service)

**New Timing Belt, Water Pump, Acc. Belts (Genuine Honda)
**New Tires
**New Front Brakes
**Changed Oil & Filter

All power options work. The A/C works - the compressor pulley rattles when not in use but is quiet when turned on.

The interior is good but could stand some cleaning. Radio is original AM/FM/Cassette.

Overall this is a very dependable Civic with low miles. It is not pretty, nothing a paint job wouldn't fix, but is an excellent driver.

I just drove to NC and back and got 36 MPG!!

**Feedback is low because I am using my stepfather's account to list this. My account is 'plumeasy' if you want to check my feedback - it is 2090 and I have been on Ebay since 1991.**

**I had an independent auto business for 25 years before my health went bad several years ago. I specialized in Hondas, Miatas, Mitsubishi/Dodge Ram 50 trucks, also Honda Motorcycles & Lawn mowers. Since I do not receive any disability, occasionally I find cars that I can check out and sell to people who need a good car. I am very upfront about any known problems and even though my health now prevents me doing much work on cars, I do know a lot about the ones I dealt in before and I have a good mechanic who I trust.

THERE IS NO WARRANTY WITH THIS VEHICLE - IT IS SOLD AS-IS, WHERE IS. I WILL NOT SHIP, BUT WILL GLADLY ASSIST YOUR SHIPPER. SHIPPING IS THE RESPONSIBILTY OF THE PURCHASER.

IF YOUR FEEDBACK RATING IS 5 OR LESS, OR IF YOU JUST JOINED EBAY IN THE LAST FEW WEEKS - YOU MUST EMAIL ME WITH VERIFIABLE CONTACT INFORMATION OR YOUR BID WILL BE CANCELLED.

I WILL NOT END THE AUCTION EARLY UNLESS THE 'BUY IT NOW' or IT IS SOLD LOCALLY.

Ever wonder how to really pronounce Japanese automaker names?

Thu, 25 Sep 2014

People tend to get very set in their ways when it comes to the pronunciation of words. Just look at the endless debates over whether or not to say the final 'e' in Porsche (which you should in terms of correct German enunciation). Or the argument about whether to follow the British convention and give the 'u' in Jaguar a special delivery or to say the 'ua' diphthong as more of a 'w' sound, as usually happens in the US.
This short video doesn't answer either of those automotive questions, but it does allow a native Japanese speaker to demonstrate the accepted pronunciations for several, major automakers from the country. One benefit is that it clears up the occasional debate over whether Nissan should be said with a long or short 'i' sound. Also, listen closely to how the female host says Mazda as Matsuda, the way it's actually said in the language. Even if this doesn't change the way you enunciate these brands, at least now you know the accurate way in Japanese.

eBay Find of the Day: 1985 Honda City Turbo II is JDM forbidden fruit you can own

Fri, 14 Feb 2014

It's always fun to cruise different global eBay Motors sites and check out the cars that we never got here. Thankfully, America's 25-year import limit on cars means that some of the rarities from the 80s are finally legal on these shores. This 1985 Honda City Turbo II is a great example of a fun, little car that we never got new but can be made legal here now.
The City was basically the Japanese company's '80s equivalent of today's Fit, albeit significantly smaller. The little urban runabout was so popular in its basic form that Honda decided to take things up a notch and turbocharge it. That car sold enough to warrant an even higher performance version called the Turbo II, which added an intercooler and the flared fenders you see here. The latter helped it earn the nickname "bulldog" for its boxy, aggressive appearance.
Honda claimed at the time that its little 1.2-liter, turbocharged four-cylinder produced 109 horsepower and 118 pound-feet of torque with a five-speed manual. In a car that weight just 1,620 pounds, you can imagine it was a very entertaining little package.

McLaren pondering Honda-powered 911 killer?

Tue, 21 May 2013

As one of the premier sports cars in the world, the Porsche 911 is always driving around with a target on its rear-engined backside. If a new report is to be believed, the latest automaker with plans to build a 911-fighting sports coupe could be McLaren. Motor Trend is reporting that the recent news that Honda and McLaren are teaming up to build Formula One racecars could bear road-going fruit as well.
According to the article, the unnamed entry-level McLaren coupe may be powered by a Honda-sourced engine, but a detuned version of the 3.8-liter V8 from the MP4-12C is said to be more likely. All in, though, there is no solid information on the car just yet. As a reminder, M/T points out that the last time McLaren partnered up with a mainstream automaker, the world was introduced to the Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren.
