1993 Honda Del Sol Si

1993 was the first year Honda Del Sol was sold in the USA. This is the Si model which was top of the line. These cars are getting very rare and collectible. This is the most collectible one of all.

1.6 VTEC motor (sohc) with a Spectre Cold Air Intake
Five Speed Manual Transmission
Cruise Control
Power Windows (including rear window)
Power Mirrors
Adjustable Coilovers
Tilt Wheel
New Windshield Wipers

17" RM (Real Modification) Wheels
205/40 R 17 Tires

The clutch, pressure plate, throwout bearing, and pilot bearing were replaced a month ago. I have the receipts for all of it. Also have the old clutch.

I was told that the timing belt and water pump were changed at 150,000 miles, however I have no proof of that. The motor runs like brand new.

The exhaust has an aftermarket header and muffler on it. It still has the converter though. Sounds great.

It has aftermarket one piece smoked headlights, and aftermarket clear tail lights that were just put in brand new and make the car look amazing.

There is presently no radio but it does have all four speakers.

It has a carbon fiber hood that does have some minor blemishes on it. It has hood pins on the front of the hood to secure it down. I do have the hood lever and cable still on the car.

The latch comes with the car but I do not have it hooked up because I prefer the hood pins for looks and better security. I have two more pins that come with the car.

The car is in white primer right now. I was going to paint Samba Green but I had things come up and don't have the money for it now. It is my car in my name. I am selling the car AS IS to the highest bidder.

This is a really great car, don't miss out!

Honda updates Takata airbag recall status for some models

Fri, 07 Nov 2014

The net enveloping vehicles in the Takata airbag inflator recall just seems to keep widening. Honda is now updating its previous campaign to revise the status for even more models that were ever registered in (or originally sold in) 13 high-humidity US states and territories.
All of these vehicles were included in the company's earlier repairs. However, at the time this fix was titled "a safety improvement campaign." This latest action upgrades that condition to "a formal recall," according to Honda's official statement. The models include: the 2003-2005 Honda Accord, 2001-2005 Civic (pictured above), 2002-2005 CR-V, 2003-2004 Element, 2002-2004 Odyssey, 2003-2005 Pilot, 2006 Ridgeline, 2003-2005 Acura MDX and the 2005 Acura RL. All of these need to have their passenger-side, front airbag inflator replaced, and the recall affects Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Louisiana, Mississippi, South Carolina, Texas, Puerto Rico, the US Virgin Islands, Saipan, Guam and American Samoa.
As with the rest of these affected vehicles, it's possible in a collision for the inflator to rupture spraying metal shrapnel at occupants. There are at least 139 injuries attributed to this problem from a variety of automakers so far. Among this latest population of vehicles, Honda says there have been no confirmed injuries or fatalities related to these exploding inflators.

Consumer Reports explains its disdain for infotainment

Thu, 20 Mar 2014

One of the perks of reviewing all manner of cars and trucks is that we're exposed to all the different infotainment systems. Whether Cadillac's CUE, Chrysler's UConnect, BMW's iDrive or MyFord Touch, we sample each and every infotainment system on the market.
Not surprisingly, some are better than others. It seems consumers have come to a similar consensus, with Consumer Reports claiming that Ford and Lincoln, Cadillac and Honda offer the worst user infotainment experiences. Not surprisingly, you won't find much argument among the Autoblog staff.
Take a look below to see just what it is about the latest batch of infotainment systems that grinds CR's gears. After that, scroll down into Comments and let us know if you agree with the mag's views.

Honda gunning for world's longest Rose Parade float

Thu, 26 Dec 2013

Honda has participated in the annual Rose Parade for the past 53 years and returns this year as the presenting sponsor for the fourth time running. But it's not satisfied merely putting its name on the event; Honda intends to lead from the front with what promises to be the longest float in the parade's long history.
The float, previewed in the rendering above, will measure 274 feet long, as tall as 30 feet high, as wide as 18 feet and weighing a whopping 50 tons with 8,980 flowers covering its surface. The train will be led by a locomotive designed to mimic the Acura NSX, with Asimo at the wheel. The second car in the train showcases a Honda engine, followed by a robotic arm, and, for the first time in the parade's history, a pair of 30-foot LED monitors displaying images of spectators lining the parade route. A caboose inspired by the Honda Jet will pick up the rear.
Oh, and in case you're wondering just who Honda will be knocking off the record books with its 274-foot train of roses, that would be... also Honda. The Japanese company set the record in 2005 with a 207-foot float. Scope out the details in the press release below and click the image above to view in high resolution.
