Up for sale is my 1995 Honda Del Sol VTECH. It runs well and is used daily by my younger brother for college and work. I've had Del Sols since college and have found them to be very reliable and fun. The top is removable and doesn't leak. The ignition switch was replaced last week since it went bad along with the valve gasket seal. The car also has new calipers and brakes and has tires that will last you another year or two. As you can see in the pictures, someone hit the car on the side (of course they didn't leave a note). The hood and trunk are also slightly faded. You can either ride the car as it is or if you care about looks you can have the dent pulled and have the car painted. The passenger side door handle was also broken from the outside but I have purchased another one to replace it. It will be included if you choose to purchase the car. The radio will also need to be properly bracketed as it is loose right now. SRS light's on. THIS IS A VERY RELIABLE CAR! |

Honda exec says US market near capacity, could hurt subprime buyers
Thu, 21 Aug 2014Is there a point in the US auto industry where companies should start considering the welfare of their customers ahead of selling more cars? American Honda Executive Vice President of Sales John Mendel thinks that level exists, and we may be getting very close to it.
According to Automotive News, Mendel believes that finding more customers in the market could require pursuing subprime buyers and offering longer-term loans. However, he refuses to use those tactics. While selling models this way can improve things briefly, the strategies hurt resale prices and lower vehicle profits over time. The company won't do "stupid things in the short-term that damage the person who bought yesterday," he said to Automotive News. "It's a very, very short-term tactic especially in the subprime area."
American Honda, which combines the Acura and Honda brands, has seen market share decline from 9.7 percent to 9.1 percent through July 2014, according to Automotive News, and Autoblog's By the Numbers stats showed it posted falling sales in five of the seven months with data this year. Though, Mendel claims that was partially because the company focused on retail sales over fleets. The delays of the launches for the Honda Fit and Acura TLX likely didn't help either.

Fitting a case offers only so much protection, but what about an airbag? Honda has explored the concept with the airbag-equipped Case N and even made a video about it. But alas, it isn't real.
For some reason, we really want it to be. Honda has a knack for surprising us with nearly unbelievable inventions designed to improve mankind's quality of life, contraptions like the Walking Assist Device and the UNI-CUB personal mobility devices, so the Case N isn't as far-fetched an idea for the company as you might think.

Scion FR-S pitted against oldtimers RX-8 and S2000
Tue, 07 May 2013There are very few vehicles available today that compare directly with the Scion FR-S and Subaru BRZ twins. A case could be made for the Mazda MX-5 Miata, and possibly even six-cylinder versions of American coupes like the Ford Mustang. Pretty much everything else is either too expensive or is powered by the wrong set of wheels.
The boys from EverydayDriver on YouTube decided the only fair way to judge the inherent qualities of the Toyobaru twins was to pit them against two standard-bearers of years past: The Honda S2000 and Mazda RX-8. Neither of these cars is an exact matchup, with the Honda boasting a convertible top and the RX-8 offering more practicality via a rear seat and two reverse-opening doors for easier access. What they do offer, however, are similar performance stats and proven reputations for excellent handling.
