Up for sale is a 2004 Honda Insight with only 45,300 miles!  Yes that is correct!  Runs great.  I purchased this vehicle for my daughter thinking that it would be ideal for her.  My bad decision is your gain.  As it turns out, she doesn't appreciate its compact style.  I own another fuel efficient vehicle and really have no need for this vehicle.  I am sad to let it go, but sometimes circumstances prevail.

Overall, the car is in good condition.  The following is a list of cosmetic issues with the auto:  On the corner of the driver's side door, there is an area of surface scratches, but they look like they may be able to be rubbed out, however I am by no means an auto body expert.  The driver side carpet is worn through due to being driven without a floor mat.  Strange I know.  I have since put brand new floor mats inside the vehicle.  The rear bumper has chip marks across the top.  One of the wheel skirts is a bit off line and I did not investigate it any further to see whether it is simply the clips.  The wheel skirt remains in place while driving and doesn't effect the vehicle performance.  I replaced the 12v battery and at the time of listing have yet to pull the radio to get the serial number to get the activation code.  I hope to have competed this task before the end of the auction, but offer on guarantees.  Regardless, it is not a big deal.  Lastly, the tires will need replacement shortly.  Please refer to the photographs of each issue I presented.

Aside from some minor cosmetic issues, this vehicle runs great and with the low mileage, you will not be disappointed.  The Insight is being sold as is with no implied warranties.  Please ask questions.  I am up front regarding the car and hope to get it to a home where someone will appreciate it and save a ton of gas money.  Thanks for looking and make a great day for yourself.

I apologize, however one of the photographs depicts a crack in the rear bumper and I forgot to add it in the description. It is strictly cosmetic. Thanks.

Honda reports $1.9 billion profit in first quarter despite sales lag at home

Wed, 31 Jul 2013

Ford, General Motors and Chrysler have been living in a world of sunshine and buttercups after their April-through-June financials hit the newswire, and Toyota is doing pretty good as well. Honda? Not so much.
While Japan's third-largest manufacturer saw $1.9 billion in profits, the 5.1-percent jump was lower than expected thanks to a drop in its home-market sales. US sales also took a sting, as Honda hasn't been able to match the SUV and truck demand that are currently permeating the American market, despite an uptick in Accord sales.
Honda's initial forecasts targeted a take of 209.3 billion yen ($2.1 billion at today's rates), and while a $200 million shortfall is nothing to sniff at, we'd hardly take this as Honda being in trouble. And even with the dip, Honda hasn't adjusted its forecast for the fiscal year, which remains at 780 billion yen ($7.9 billion).

Honda China struggling with high-end Accord because Chinese covet German cars, too

Sun, 06 Jul 2014

It's not particularly unusual to see cheap cars in China, or those with designs stolen from foreign competitors, but increasingly the best-selling vehicles there would be very recognizable to just about any auto enthusiast. There appears to be one fact of life whether looking at car buyers in Sacramento, Stuttgart or Shanghai: People who can afford to buy premium cars often look first at the Germans.
Honda recently thought that it could challenge this perceived wisdom by including a premium Accord in the ninth-generation sedan's Chinese launch last year. The market-exclusive version was priced against the Audi A4. The venture failed, miserably.
According to Automotive News China, sales for the new Accord in China are down 37 percent through May of this year. Honda's overall sales are actually up by about 11 percent there on the strength of smaller, less profitable models. However, the company is still off its forecast 19-percent rise.

Consumer Reports explains its disdain for infotainment

Thu, 20 Mar 2014

One of the perks of reviewing all manner of cars and trucks is that we're exposed to all the different infotainment systems. Whether Cadillac's CUE, Chrysler's UConnect, BMW's iDrive or MyFord Touch, we sample each and every infotainment system on the market.
Not surprisingly, some are better than others. It seems consumers have come to a similar consensus, with Consumer Reports claiming that Ford and Lincoln, Cadillac and Honda offer the worst user infotainment experiences. Not surprisingly, you won't find much argument among the Autoblog staff.
Take a look below to see just what it is about the latest batch of infotainment systems that grinds CR's gears. After that, scroll down into Comments and let us know if you agree with the mag's views.
