Built 12/2004,1 owner,no serious accidents/frame damage,clear title,everything working(lights,a/c,radio/CD,sliding doors etc)
THE GOOD:timing belt just done at Honda dealer($1500),new battery,new spark plugs+air filter,tires > 50% left,brakes ok,everything working,1 owner and very well maintained THE BAD:front and rear bumper cover worn/damaged,horizontal crack in front windshield(out of sight/view at very bottom),small dings/scratches,transmission currently working fine but good chance needing to be replaced at some point(a common issue with these cars). This car has been in our possession for 10 years and we bought it new at a Honda dealer..never had issues(other than fender benders)and has been very reliable(our 2nd Odyssey by the way).. I have priced it such that a new owner could invest in a refurbished/used transmission(ca. $ 1000)and also reflected the cosmetic blemishes..this is NOT a like new car but in very good mechanical condition..sold as is and with no warranties(expressed or implied).. NADA value close to $ 9000,most trade around $ 8000..I am taking off $2000 for cosmetic blemishes and possibility of transmission having to be replaced/rebuilt(even though it is currently working fine)..do not bid if you expect to see a like new/refurbished vehicle you might expect to see at a car dealership..I am a private seller.. Honda Accord Hybrid falls well short of 47 mpg, says Consumer Reports [w/video]
Thu, 29 May 2014Do not poke Consumer Reports with the hybrid fuel economy stick. That seems to be the lesson illustrated here yet again. The Honda Accord Hybrid is the latest to arouse the ratings bear, returning "just" 40 combined mpg in CR testing. Even so, that makes it "a class leader for fuel economy among midsized sedans," besting even the Civic Hybrid in CR testing, but that's still a lucky roll of the dice short of its EPA rating of 47 mpg. Remember, it was back in December 2012 that CR knocked the Ford Fusion and C-Max hybrid models for the exact same failing: certified with an EPA-rated 47 mpg but delivering "just" 40 mpg.
Beyond that, while the Accord Hybrid earned a lower overall score than the traditional gasoline Accord because of its ride, handling and refinement issues, it gets unqualified applause from the institute for its "very impressive hybrid system."
It will be interesting to see if CR's findings will negatively impact the model's sales, which to this point have been impressive enough that demand is outstripping supply. Acura NSX bodywork to be sheathed in zirconium e-coat, fewer paint layers
Tue, 05 Aug 2014Automakers make halo cars to drum up excitement and show off what they can do, but there's more to it than that. Advanced platforms allow a company's engineers to experiment with all sorts of technologies. And in the case of the upcoming new Acura NSX, that includes new paint processes.
Speaking with Autoline in this video interview, Honda's North American Senior VP Jon Minto talked about an innovative zirconium e-coat which it's applying to the new NSX. Unlike some experimental paints developed for Formula One, however, this coating is not designed to minimize drag or enhance cooling: it's designed to be more environmentally friendly.
It's one of a few measures which Honda is implementing on the NSX before expanding it to more accessible models, along with another process that uses fewer coats to reduce energy consumption by 40 percent. Watch the interview with Autoline host John McElroy right here.
Ward's reveals annual 10 Best Engines list for 2013
Thu, 13 Dec 2012Ward's Auto has released its annual 10 Best Engines award winners. The 2013 list covers the full width and breadth of the internal combustion spectrum, from a spate of efficient four-cylinders to the most powerful production V8 on the planet. As always, the entries must be available in a production vehicle in the first quarter of 2013 with an MSRP of less than $55,000. The supercharged 3.0-liter V6 from the Audi S5 held on for the fourth consecutive year, and BMW earned two spots on the list with its turbo 2.0-liter four-cylinder and turbo 3.0-liter inline-six.
Ford pulled in two awards for its 2.0-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder and and the supercharged 5.8-liter V8 from the Shelby GT500. Honda matched BMW and Ford with two wins of its own. Wards awarded the 2.4-liter four-cylinder from the Honda Accord Sport as well as the 3.5-liter V6 from the Honda Accord. Chrysler, General Motors and Subaru each garnered a spot on the list as well for the 3.6-liter V6 in the Ram 1500, the turbo 2.0-liter four-cylinder in the Cadillac ATS and the 2.0-liter four-cylinder the Subaru BRZ, respectively.
