It pains me to have to list this, but I am selling my 2001 Honda S2000 Silverstone Metallic roadster. I have owned this car for over five years and it has been a flawless daily driver. It is a real rear wheel drive convertible sports car, so it is not as quiet as a Civic. S2000s are known for making a lot of noises while driving, but honestly this one is pretty quiet, especially since I got the new top. Here's a list of maintenance and mods:
31254 5/27/05 New Battery 37000 10/26/05 New Clutch (previous owner) 101244 6/1/11 Coolant change (Honda type 2) 106544 10/26/11 New Battery 113360 6/1/12 New rear bumper and taillights 118158 10/5/12 Front & Rear Brake Discs (OEM) 126890 7/8/13 New drivers side caliper 127500 8/19/13 All suspension bushings changed to Energy Suspension bushings, replaced end links, all new suspension bolts 128080 9/1/13 Dome light, trunk light, and license plate light replaced with LED bulbs 128080 9/1/13 Air intake replaced with K&N FIPK (also have OEM air box) 128207 9/13/13 Berk High Flow 63mm Cat (also have OEM) 128207 9/13/13 Stainless steel brake lines 128360 9/24/13 New Robbins cloth soft top with upgraded rear glass window + rear defrost 128929 10/9/13 Passenger tie rod end boot Oil has been changed every 5-6000 miles with Mobil 1 10W30 or 0W30 and OEM Honda filter. OEM 16" AP1 aluminum wheels with Dunlop Z1 Star Spec fronts (~9,000 miles 2/3 tread left) and Dunlop ZII rears (3000 miles, 80% tread left). Also 16" painted steel wheels with winter tires (50% tread left). The wheels are in OK shape. They have been daily driven for the past 5 years and 80,000 miles, so they are not perfect but are round and balance perfectly. The engine runs perfectly all the way up to 9,000 rpms. Lifetime average mpg is 25.86. Never tracked. I got this car to have a fun daily driver. It has never left me stranded or broken down. I wouldn't hesitate to drive this across the country. In fact I recently moved from the east coast back to Ohio and the car ran perfectly. I would expect this engine to run to at least 300,000 miles before needing any major work as long as regular maintenance is kept up. Heat is very hot and AC is very cold. No problems starting or running. It just passed Ohio'e E-Check emissions testing with no problem. The paint is in good condition considering this is a 12+ year old car with it's mileage. There are a few chips and light dings as shown and the paint has worn off the door mirrors as shown. My next project is going to be carbon fiber wrapping the door mirrors if this doesn't sell. The previous owner put a lot of scratches on the front lip as well. I was rear ended in 2012 at <5 mph and got a new bumper cover and tail lights. There was no frame or other structural damage. I have bought and sold quite a few cars over the years on eBay. If you have any questions, please ask them before bidding/buying. The vehicle is listed locally as well, so I reserve the right to end the listing at any time. Shipping is the responsibility of the buyer. If you have zero feedback please contact me before bidding. No International sales, no exceptions. All sales are final. I accept cash, wire transfer, and cashier's check. The vehicle will not be released to buyer until after any checks have cleared. My bank tells me this can take up to 14 business days. I will not end the listing before it is scheduled to end unless I have full cleared payment up front. I will not take a deposit or partial payments to hold the vehicle for inspection. Inspections are welcome at potential buyers' expense within 30 minutes of where I live. |

2013 Honda Accord Coupe V6 6MT
Fri, 21 Dec 2012One of the first cars I reviewed for Autoblog was - say it with me now - a 2010 Honda Accord Coupe EX-L V6 w/Navi 6MT, perhaps the rarest of all modern Accord models. I mean, think about it: Of all the different Accord variants on the road, how many are coupes? And how many of those have the larger V6 engine? And how many of those are fully loaded with leather, navigation and all the trimmings? And finally, how many of those have option sheets where the only box that isn't checked is the automatic transmission?
That has to be something like one percent of one percent, right?
So when Honda started rolling its all-new 2013 Accord into the test fleet, I was happy to hear that yet another Coupe EX-L V6 w/Navi 6MT model was available out of the Detroit pool. And while this really isn't the car that serves as the control for judging the entire Accord line, it's still one heck of a sweetheart.
Honda HR-V Prototype looks awfully familiar
Thu, 02 Oct 2014Is there anything quite so exciting as seeing a brand-new vehicle for the very first time? Part of the allure of auto shows is the chance to see new ideas, just before they're fully baked and ready for public consumption. "Prototypes" you might say, of production models that are just around the corner. Or, in the case of the Honda HR-V, already down the block a ways.
Here in Paris, Honda has unveiled its HR-V Prototype, a nearly production-ready version of a "new SUV for Europe." Before we take umbrage with that SUV designation - as far as we can tell the Fit-based crossover isn't much of a mudder - we should address the fact that at this year's New York Auto Show in April, Honda handed over just a few images and specs of the actually production-read HR-V for the US. Presumably this is a "prototype" for Europe, where the NYC car is US-specific, but we're still scratching our heads a bit.
No matter! Here in France, Honda tells us that the utile little hatch will be available powered by both a 1.5-liter gasoline engine (the one American customers will see), and a 1.6-liter diesel unit, both wearing the company's Earth Dreams Technology label and presumably running cleaner and more frugally than ever. In Europe, a standard six-speed manual will come with both mills, while the 1.5-liter will offer the option of a continuously variable transmission.
Watch these guys creatively cover No Diggity in a Honda Civic
Mon, 17 Feb 2014People do some weird things in their cars. Take these two gentlemen and their Honda Civic. Rather than tune in to satellite radio or hook up an iPod, they've opted to create their own music.
YouTube musician Flula (in the passenger seat) and his friend Chester perform a cover of Blackstreet's Number-One Billboard hit, "No Diggity," complete with the requisite auto tuning, all while on the go. Is it weird that we almost prefer this wacky version to the original '90s R&B classic? Take a look - and a listen - by scrolling below, and note that we've included the original song featuring Dr. Dre... you know, for comparative purposes.
