If it's further away, you can either fly or drive to the car's location, or you can hire a shipping service to get it delivered to your door. Note: This vehicle was used by our family.  80% of the miles on it involve driving it to the airport on Monday where it sits in a secure lot, then driving it back from the airport on Thursday.  The trailer hitch is on there as occasional we would trailer our lawn mower to a rental house to cut the grass.  It has never been used to tow a boat or a camper. A 16 year old (newly licensed), managed to - yes - believe it or not run into the trailer hitch only.  How you do not see a huge yellow hummer I do not know.  I have a photo of the accident, he was going maybe 5 miles an hour.  I don't know if this will show up on a carfax but I have the time stamped photo on my facebook to match to the accident.  Because of the low height of his car he managed to hit the trailer hitch and avoid any damage to the vehicle.  I mention this as I value my EBAY rating and want to fully disclose anything. The windshield has a bulls eye.  The rock hit the windshield within two months of purchase and has not changed or expanded, we thought if it did, we would repair but it has never changed from the time it occurred. I have this item listed locally as well and reserve the right to cancel this listing if it sells through Craigslist, or the sign posted on the vehicle.

Automakers tussle over owners of 'orphan' makes

Thu, 10 May 2012

When General Motors put down several of its brands in recent years, it also let loose thousands of brand-loyal customers who will eventually need another car.
R.L. Polk Associates estimates there are more than 18 million cars from 16 discontinued makes on the road today. Those "orphan owners" have sales-hungry competitors seeing dollar signs. GM is offering Saturn owners $1,000 cash toward a Chevy Cruze, Cadillac CTS or a GMC Acadia. Ford is giving its Mercury lease customers a chance to get out of their contracts with no early-termination penalty and offering to waive six remaining payments if they drive off in a Ford or Lincoln.
Edmunds.com research shows the efforts are paying off somewhat for GM, with 39 percent of Pontiac owners, 37 percent of Hummer owners and 31 percent of Saturn owners taking delivery of another GM-branded vehicle. But that leaves as much as 69 percent of owners going elsewhere. Ford, Honda and Toyota seem to be attracting many former GM owners.

Architects design home made entirely of Hummers

Tue, 26 Jul 2011

Architects Craig Hodges and HsinMing Fung joined forces in 1984 to create their agency HplusF. Since then, the pair have gone on to apply their stylistic skill to the UCLA library, Hollywood Bowl, Egyptian Theater and a number of other works of architectural art. HplusF also tackles unique installations and showpieces, one of which involves the now-departed Hummer brand.
What could easily be a luxury apartment in the video game Fallout 3 is in fact HplusF's HummerHaus. Eight identical Hummer body shells wrap around a a steel skeleton to form a living space like no other.
Of course, this is merely a concept, but it's a rather interesting one. Could old vehicles be rehabbed into affordable living spaces? Could the Hummer body have a new lease on life after it was cut from the General Motors family?

Horse-drawn Hummer H2 - Click above to view the video after the jump
When the internal combustion engine finally helped the automobile pass the horse-drawn carriage as the chosen method of transportation for a majority of citizens in the United States, that a step in the right direction. Right? Moving forward about a hundred years... when the behemoth Sport Utility Vehicle that never actually seems to venture off the beaten path passed the minivan in the hearts and minds of families across the country as the people-mover of choice, was that a step in the right direction?
If you answered no to either of the above questions, perhaps you'll enjoy the video pasted after the break. Created by artist Jeremy Dean (read about our initial post on the project here), the converted Hummer H2 is called Futurama and is pulled by two white horses named, appropriately enough, Duke and Diesel. Hummers are for horses? See for yourself.
