2011 Hyundai Elantra Touring Se Wagon 4-door 2.0l on 2040-cars
Covington, Louisiana, United States
I bought this car in June 2013 with 27,000 miles on it from a qualified Hyundai dealership in Texas. Drove it for 2 months then moved to Nome Alaska and it has been sitting at my mother's house unused for the duration. It is a GREAT car and the gas mileage is unprecedented. I bought the loaded SE wagon model with the intention of doing a lot of driving and carrying supplies.
It has low miles, and has been kept up really well. The Blue Book for this car in this condition is $14,224 and I've listed it reasonably because I'm going back to Alaska at the end of the month. HYUNDAI WARRANTY: Basic: 5yr/60,000 miles Drivetrain: 5yr/1000,000 miles Roadside: 5yr/ unlimited miles Rust: 7yr/ unlimited miles It drives so well and is just like BRAND NEW gets about 30 mpg on hwy, love the radio steering controls, bluetooth phone setup and the heated seats. It is fully loaded with leather, roof rack and alloy tires. Great condition inside and out! No accidents and super well maintained. |

IED Torino students dream up the PassoCorto for Hyundai
Wed, 05 Mar 2014Every year the students at the Istituto Europeo di Design (IED) in Turin work up something new to unveil at the Geneva Motor Show. It's usually a concept for an Italian automaker (like the Alfa Romeo Gloria, the Cisitalia 202 E or the Abarth ScorpION) or at least something European (like the concepts they worked up with McLaren or the ones they did for Aston Martin). But this time they've wandered a little farther from home in designing a sports car for Hyundai.
It's called the PassoCorto - Italian for "short wheelbase" - and it was designed in collaboration between the grad students in the Master in Transportation Design program (under the supervision of Pininfarina design Luca Borgogno) and the Hyundai's European design center.
The design (theoretically) calls for a 1.6-liter twin-turbo four, mounted amidships and driving 266 horsepower to the rear wheels. It looks pretty promising, and if Hyundai were ever keen on taking on the likes of the Alfa Romeo 4C and Porsche Cayman, this strikes us as a damn good place to start.
Hyundai releases series of KDM Genesis videos
Thu, 12 Dec 2013We had plenty of nice things to say about the sleek, new Hyundai Genesis Sedan when we drove the Korean domestic market version late last month. And while we're still waiting to find out just when the new rear-driver will arrive in the US market, Hyundai's home-market operations have released a series of videos on the new sedan.
Now, unfortunately, all the videos are in Korean. While we haven't the foggiest idea of what they're actually saying, the eight videos in the series give a great look at the new Genesis Sedan in motion, as well as showing off some of the development process behind the newest member of the Hyundai family.
We've embedded all eight videos below for your viewing pleasure. Have a look below.
Hyundai app lets you build your own zombie apocalypse car
Sun, 04 Aug 2013Walking Dead fans, rejoice! Thanks to Hyundai, you can build your very own virtual zombie survival machine. We've all seen the light-green Hyundai Tucson transporting the likes of Rick Grimes and his motley crew of survivors in AMC's hit series, and now you can get in on the action with Hyundai's Walking Dead Chop Shop.
Available both as a mobile app and desktop version, this quirky configurator presents you with a choice of three Hyundai vehicles: the Veloster Turbo, Santa Fe and Elantra. Each one has its strengths, though we particularly like the Santa Fe's utility. After all, according to Hyundai, "There's room for seven survivors inside" and you won't have to worry about "getting zombie all over your seats. They're easy to wipe clean." But for those who prefer not to invite zombies along for the journey, the speedy Veloster Turbo and its 201-horsepower engine may be the way to go.
Once you select your post-apocalyptic ride, you have a choice of colors (including Apocalypse Black, of course), decals ("Alive Inside" is a useful one) and nearly 300 other zombie-fighting features. We're partial to the automatic shotguns on the hood, although the flamethrower is also quite tempting. You can even add titanium or aluminum armor and a dizzying array of other defensive and offensive weapons: spinning saw blades on the wheels, a horde plow on the front bumper and barbed wire on the side windows, just to name a few.
