2013 Hyundai Genesis Coupe 3.8l R-spec 6-speed Manual 1800 Miles! on 2040-cars

US $24,999.00
Year:2013 Mileage:1786
Location:

This is my personal 2013 Hyundai Genesis Coupe that I bought NEW (still is!) last fall.  We had such a miserable winter here in Cedar Rapids, Iowa that this car was not driven this past winter so it has less than 1800 miles on it - BUT, I am still driving it now that the weather is better so the mileage will climb some.  This is the 348 horse power 3.8L R-Spec V6 (Hot Rod!) model with 6 speed manual transmission driving the rear wheels.  There is NOT ONE SINGLE SCRATCH, MARK, OR DING on this car - it is beautiful.  The color is black pearl with a red and graphite (almost black) combination fabric and leather interior.  The wheels are also in PERFECT condition.  I think the wheels are some of the prettiest factory wheels that I have ever seen.  (I am a certified car nut having owned 102 cars to date!). The only mod to the car was that I had a custom exhaust system built to give the car a little better exhaust note.  The installer used the factory exhaust tips to keep the look stock.  The exhaust is not loud - just about perfect music to my ears.  Speaking of music, the Genesis has a Sirius/XM radio, single CD player, and auxiliary USB and 3.5mm input jacks.  I use a 16Gb mini flash drive to hold 1550 songs for my music desires.  I did re-badge the entire car with Genesis emblems removing any Hyundai emblems.  Most people don't have a clue as to what a Genesis is since it doesn't say Hyundai on the car anywhere.  I do have my initials on the rear side windows - they will come right off.  NADA has this car priced at $26,725 and Kelley Blue Book says $27,218.  I am asking $24,999 which is $1700 to $2200 UNDER book!  I am selling because I'm OLD and my knee is not working well enough to handle a clutch anymore - BUMMER!  The car really looks better than the photos as it is really hard to shoot good photos of black cars.  This auction can close at anytime as I also have the car listed for sale locally.  The only forms of payment that I will accept are PayPal, CASH, or bank-to-bank wire transfer.  Cashier's checks and money orders are too easily conterfeited these days.  A PayPal deposit of $500 is required within 7 days of the auction closing.  You can call me to discuss the car at 319-393-3318.  I'm usually at home as I goof off all day long 7 days a week!  If you need a ride from the Cedar Rapids airport, I can pick you up.

Hyundai details its five Super Bowl ads, Santa Fe is MVP [w/video]

Thu, 24 Jan 2013

If the Super Bowl were Las Vegas, Hyundai would be considered one of its whales. The South Korean automaker will be advertising for the sixth straight year during The Big Game, and this time it's rolling up with five spots, four of them new. The new 2013 Santa Fe gets the star treatment, featuring in three of the spots, but the theme throughout is using "a Hyundai vehicle as the ultimate sidekick and partner-in-fun."
The four brand new commercials are:
Epic PlayDate - the headliner, uses the Santa Fe for "an unforgettable and epic play date" and features a brand new song from "a legendary alternative rock band."

Hyundai recalling 186k Elantras due to possible headliner detachment

Wed, 10 Apr 2013

Following at least one reported incident of a man who claimed his ear was sliced in half following the deployment of his side airbag, Hyundai has announced a recall for certain model year 2011 through 2013 Elantras; specifically those manufactured from November 12, 2010 through March 5, 2013. In these Elantra models, a support bracket that is attached to the car's headliner may become dislodged when the side curtain airbag deploys. If that should happen, occupants may be in danger of a laceration injury by way of the flying bracket.
Hyundai will notify owners of affected vehicles, while dealers will service the dangerous bracket by applying adhesive strips. (Feel free to insert your own duct tape joke here.) The service will be performed free of charge, starting in May of this year. Follow on to read the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration notice, below.

Hyundai and Rhys Millen reunite, will return to Pikes Peak with new RWD racer, Genesis Coupe

Tue, 15 Jan 2013

Last September, Hyundai confirmed that it was exiting all of its motorsports programs in North America. That left Rhys Millen Racing without a title sponsor for its Formula Drift and Global RallyCross Championship series challengers. It also looked to have meant the end of a partnership that last year resulted in a record-setting run at Pikes Peak when Rhys Millen established the new benchmark for a run up the Colorado mountain in a production-based race car.
Hyundai clarified that September report by saying it was "reconsidering our continued involvement in Pikes Peak International Hill Climb, having achieved the world record in a Hyundai Genesis Coupe this year." The return is official, with Hyundai saying it is going back to the peak with Millen and two cars, one of them a "purpose-built unlimited class rear-drive," the other being the Hyundai Genesis Coupe-based racer that set last year's record in the time attack two-wheel-drive class.
Hyundai wants to show off the strength of its engineering, so the unlimited car will have something like 900 horsepower and 800 pound-feet of torque while using the production block, cylinder heads, bearings and accessories of its Lambda V6 engine. You can read more about the effort in the press release below, and click the image above for an enlarged view of what's coming.
