2002 Infiniti Qx4 Base Sport Utility 4-door 3.5l on 2040-cars
Orange, California, United States
Well loved companion for 10+ years and now downsizing to a more gas efficient wagon. I bought in 2003 when it only had 15k miles from an Infiniti dealership. QX4 has some dings and scratches but nothing major, no accidents. Very dependable, runs well, and been taking it to same mechanic who specializes in Japanese engines. Car has a great body style and looks younger than it is. Has plenty of power and served me well when I used the 4x4 for surf/ski trips. Things I'll miss about the car when I sell it include the towing package, moon roof, surf rack, chrome wheels, heated leather seats. Engine is a bit loud, suspension could be adjusted, back passenger window glass was replaced and glass is a shade off. Air conditioner works but on/off button needs to be replaced. The driver seat adjustment button/switch needs to be replaced. Have service records and all original owners manual, etc. Will add more photos soon! Feel free to ask for any specific photos. |

Nissan Pathfinder, Infiniti JX in transmission safety probe
Thu, 05 Sep 2013Nissan may be forced to recall 110,000 Pathfinder and Infiniti JX35 crossovers, due to a number of customer complaints. Consumers report suddenly losing power, with repair facilities blaming the issue on faulty transmission cooler line connections. Both the Pathfinder and JX35 use a continuously variable transmission. As of right now, the only vehicles being investigated are from model year 2013.
Nissan has been cooperating with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, according to a report from Reuters, and it has developed a fix for the affected vehicles. It's not clear whether this will develop into a full-blown recall, as there have been no known cases of injuries or crashes. But with a potential 110,000 vehicles prone to sudden power loss, a recall seems to be a likely outcome.
Infiniti Q50 Eau Rouge running prototype driven by Sebastian Vettel
Fri, 04 Apr 2014Infiniti's high-performance Q50 Eau Rouge concept might be one of the biggest teases in the current automotive world. It was first shown at the 2014 Detroit Auto Show as a body without an engine. Then, the sports sedan arrived at the Geneva Motor Show with a modified version of the turbocharged V6 from the GT-R under the hood, tuned to 560 horsepower and 443 pound-feet of torque, and with all-wheel drive. However, it was still just a concept. Finally, the Japanese luxury automaker is showing us what the Eau Rouge can do on the road - briefly.
The company brought reigning Formula One champ Sebastian Vettel along to get behind the wheel, for this all-too-short video from the Millbrook Proving Ground in the UK. There's more good news too. While Infiniti isn't saying that it's definitely going to build the Eau Rouge, it is "pressing ahead with the evaluation." More info about these tests will be released at the 2014 Beijing Auto Show at the end of April. Scroll down to watch Vettel drive the Q50 Eau Rouge and read a little more about it.
Infiniti-Red Bull Racing will seek a fourth title with the RB9 [w/video]
Tue, 05 Feb 2013This is the car and the team that everyone wants to dethrone. The stability of this year's regulations means that the Infiniti Red Bull RB9 is a seriously honed RB8; however, that's a situation probably no other team would complain about seeing that the RB8 recovered from early stumbles and reliability issues last year to carry Sebastian Vettel to a third consecutive driver's title and the team to a third consecutive constructor's trophy.
The most noteworthy revisions to the car are the partial vanity panel that omits the driver cooling slot, the even narrower rear end - a feature of just about every car launched so far - and purple sidepods to showcase new title sponsor Infiniti. Adrian Newey, perhaps the most feared designer on the pit lane, said the nose and front wing could be changed relatively easily throughout the season, but he wanted to make sure to get the middle of the car - everything from the sidepods, back - as good as possible since they're more difficult to re-engineer. His track record leads us to believe he did just that.
Below are two videos, one of the making of the RB9, the other the launch at team headquarters in Milton Keynes.
