The 1966 Jaguar S Type is one of the most beautiful cars every built. The lines, the leather, the grill, the wood and that amazing dual overhead cam straight six all come together to say Jaguar. This car is not perfect (reflected in the price) but requires nothing and can be driven anywhere the minute you pick her up. I purchased the car from an individual locally here in St. Louis who regularly used her for long excursions with friends around the area. Many of his trips were hours away and she never let him down. The engine runs strong, the brakes are good, and the transmission shifts effortlessly. The paint is about a 15 footer (looks very good from 15 feet). I've considered painting the car but it's just too nice to repaint and one of the features of the car that I really like is that I don't have to worry about it (it's an amazing driver!!!!). The interior is original and remains Jaguar impressive after all these years. The tires are in excellent condition. Again, she needs nothing for you to enjoy the minute you pick her up. If you want a fun car to take to party, to cruse to the car show, to take friend to dinner, or for that next excursion, this car is an excellent choice. Ian Callum, Brian Johnson and Lord March pick 10 top Jaguars
Thu, 11 Sep 2014An automaker with as rich a heritage as Jaguar is bound to create a few experts along the way... and some divergent opinions, too. So on the eve of the debut of the new XE, Jaguar brought together three experts to whittle down the long list of classic Leaping Cats to just ten.
For this gargantuan task, it brought in Ian Callum (who, as the company's chief designer, knows a thing or two about Jaguars), Lord Charles Henry Gordon-Lennox (the Earl of March and founder of the Goodwood Revival) and Brian Johnson - who may be better known as the frontman of AC/DC, but also a classic car enthusiast, collector and racer in his own right.
So what did the designer, the nobleman and the celebrity choose? The SS100, XK120 (namely number NUB 120), the C-Type that competed at the 1953 Mille Miglia, the D-Type that won at Reims, the Mk II sedan, the E-Type that served as the Geneva show car, the one and only XJ13, company founder Sir William Lyons' personal XJ6 S1, the TWR XJS touring car and the 1988 Le Mans-winning XJR-9.
2014 Jaguar XFR-S Sportbrake is one hot hauler

Actually, in all honesty, it really is awesome. Meet the Jaguar XFR-S Sportbrake, a red-hot (or blue-hot?) version of the rakish XF wagon that originally bowed at the Geneva Motor Show back in 2012. The formula here is pretty much plug-and-play: take the 5.0-liter supercharged V8 from the XFR-S and shove it in the wagon body, and add all of the necessary visual flair fitting of a properly powerful Jag. The end result is an estate that packs 542 horsepower, 502 pound-feet of torque, and the ability to sprint to 60 miles per hour in a scant 4.6 seconds. Meow.
This Jaguar joins a growing segment of ultra-hot wagons in Europe, rounded out by offerings like the Audi RS6 Avant and the Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG longroof - the latter of which you can actually buy in North America. Sounds like the sort of comparison test we'd love to facilitate. Guess we'll have to leave that to our friends at Autocar, though.
2014 Jaguar XFR-S is the power and the fury
Thu, 29 Nov 2012If there's something wrong about a sedan with a 550-horsepower supercharged V8, we don't want to hear about it. Instead, we want to marvel at the car in person, which is fortuitous because Jaguar has officially unveiled the 2014 XFR-S at the 2012 LA Auto Show. That blown 5.0-liter V8 dishes up a full 502 pound-feet of torque, which is good enough to shuttle the four-door to 60 mph in a scant 4.4 seconds. And, thanks to a start stop system and a few other fuel-saving tricks, the 2014 XFR-S gets away without being hit by the gas guzzler tax.
That's all good news, but we're just as excited about the fact that engineers managed to crank up the vehicle's chassis stiffness by a ludicrous 30 percent. Stiffer dampers and springs also give the car a little more poise, and a wide-open exhaust lets the whole world know you're kicking down their door.
