You are bidding on a 1990 Jaguar Vanden Plas XJ 4 door sedan. There is a reserve price. Local pick up preferred and I will ship to the United States only. You must make the arrangements. The winning bidder has 48 hrs to make a $200 deposit into my PayPal acct. and up to 7 days to complete the transaction. (Balance paid in full and title transferred. Possibility of transferring the classic plate to the buyer for a standard fee.) Here's a brief history about the car: My wife and I purchased the car 2 years ago with the intention of fixing it up as a "touring" vehicle for car shows, etc. So for the last 2 years it was mostly stored in our garage while I worked on it in my spare time. We did road test it a few times but only put about 30 miles on it. It has 166K miles on it but as you can see from the pics it still looks great! The major "P.I.T.A." job that I did was to replace the headliner! It turned out nice and matches the original. The rest of the interior is in fine condition showing normal wear. I purchased door weather seals but did not change them. I went over the entire car and found no serious wear or problems with the engine, transmission, brakes, exhaust, suspension and steering components except for the steering pump. The pump does not work after I dis-assembled it to replace the seal and gaskets. What I believe happened is I probably installed the pump impeller backwards, because the P/S worked prior to my work. I also replaced most of the power steering hoses, A/C hoses, A/C receiver/dryer, battery and serviced the transmission. That being said, this Jaguar needs someone to take over where I left off. It does run great, has lots of power and I have driven it recently the way it is, but it steers VERY hard. I suppose you could drive it home at your own risk but I would recommend towing it or moving it by trailer. The PA state inspection sticker is not current. It does have a "PA Classic Plate" which can be transferred to a PA buyer if needed. This car is being sold "AS IS, WHERE IS" and I will not warranty or guarantee anything except that you can start it up and drive it. Please refer to the condition description for additional info. Jaguar 3 Series-fighter to spawn coupe, wagon
Wed, 25 Sep 2013With its sights set on the BMW 3 Series, Jaguar could be planning a full range of models for its upcoming entry-level car - possibly called the XS. We've already seen spy shots of the four-door version of this all-aluminum baby Jag, but according to Auto Express, the automaker will also offer the car in coupe and wagon variants.
The XS sedan should hit the market in 2015, and the coupe and wagon models are expected soon after that. Speaking with Jag's global brand director Adrian Hallmark, AE says that the XS will be focused on styling with a design similar to the recently introduced C-X17 crossover concept. Hallmark also said that the addition of the XS lineup could help Jaguar double its sales, which were at 357,773 global units in 2012. Ferrari exec to lead Jaguar North America
Tue, 06 Aug 2013Jaguar has announced that Jeff Curry will be serving as the brand's new North American vice president, effective August 13. The move is a coup for Jag, which lured Curry away from his previous posting as VP of marketing for Ferrari North America, and is further evidence of just how strong Jaguar's comeback has gotten.
Curry has spent over 20 years in the auto industry, and has worked with Audi, SiriusXM and Land Rover, where he made his start in the industry. His primary responsibilities with Jaguar will cover marketing communications, customer relationship management, and product planning.
Jaguar Land Rover's North American president, Andy Goss, heaped praise on the brand's newest addition saying, "Jeff brings with him extensive automotive and luxury marketing experience, critical expertise in leading-edge technologies and a personal passion for automobiles."

Fri, 08 Aug 2014There's nothing that real, dyed-in-the-wool car geeks love so much as to say "Old Car X is actually a lot better than New Car Y." For reasons that defy both logic and science, we all (your author included) are able to, almost simultaneously, bitch about needed advancements in current vehicles and then bemoan character lost in the next crop.
Mitsubishi Evo models have been supremely prone to this bifurcation of opinion in recent years (ask an Evo IX fanboy about the Evo X sometime... ), and performance cars wearing WRX, Mustang, and M3 badges have been deeply subject to it, as well.
The Jaguar XK and F-Type are not exactly in the same one-model, generational-changeover form as those mentioned above, but that doesn't mean that there aren't defenders of both the old dog and the new joint. Autocar seeks the truth of the matter in this new video, and we're just happy to come along for the ride. May the best sib win.
