I bought this car last month for my wife from a dealer and she found another Jag that she wanted in a different color. So since it has been less than a month that I have own this car I will post the description of the dealer that sold it to me. I hope to get what I paid for it but if not my lost is your gain. I had plan on keeping it and have already started to buy parts for it (ex. driver side mirror)... but I have to many cars and my wife will not let me keep it. I will post plenty of picture's. The next comment are the dealer's description of the car because I have not had it but only a couple of weeks. " HERE IS A RUNNING JAG XJ8 THAT WE DROVE FOR ABOUT 100 MILES. THE ONE THING IS IT STARTS OFF IN 2 GEAR ALL THE TIME AND WE HAD NO PROBLEM DRIVING IT. IT MAY JUST NEED A TPS throttle position sensor, or TRANSMISSION POSITION SENSOR, (COMMON PROBLEM) BUT NOT SURE WE NOT MECHANIC'S.BODY IN GOOD SHAPE WITH YOUR NORMAL SCRATCHES, DINGS, PAINT CHIPS ON BUMPERS, A CREASE IN DRIVER'S FENDER, A FEW MINOR SPOTS WHERE PAINT BUBBLED AND A FEW SMALL RUST SPOTS.NEED TO REPAIR 3 OUTSIDE HANDLES AND 1 ON THE INSIDE.WINDSHIELD HAS A CRACK,NEEDS A DRIVER'S SIDE MIRROR( I have it and it will come with the car),INTERIOR VERY CLEAN AND LEATHER SEATS IN GOOD SHAPE NO TEARS OR HOLES, POWER MOON ROOF WORKS GREAT WITH THE PUSH OF A BUTTON,HAS AIR CONDITIONING, WOOD TRIM AND A AM/FM CASSETTE 6 DISC CD PLAYER.(JUST NEED 6 DISC HOLDER),HEATED SEATS,RUNS GREAT WITH ABS, CHECK ENGINE, TRACTION AND STABILITY LIGHTS ON, and MISSING SMALL FRONT COVER FOR CENTER CONSOL. This Jaguar E-Type is an even longer-legged feline
Tue, 12 Nov 2013Paul Branstad loves the shape and purity of the Series 1 Jaguar E-Type, produced from 1961 to 1968, but appreciates the longer length of the Series 3 V12 model, which affords occupants a more comfortable space in which to enjoy long trips. So when Branstad brought his damaged left-hand-drive 1968 roadster from its home in the US to Classic Motor Cars in the UK for a restoration, he had a special request: restore his car, but make it a bit longer.
"This is something that we have never done before. Our client wanted the interior leg room of a Series 3 V12 E-Type but the aesthetics of a Series 1 car," says Nick Goldthorp, managing director of CMC.
For the restoration, CMC added 4.5 inches of length to the floor pan of Branstad's E-Type to create the extra legroom. Goldthorp relates, "The V12 was actually nine inches longer than a Series 1 but a lot of the additional room was behind the seats as storage and was not required on our project." That's because CMC also built a trailer out of two E-Type rear ends that attaches to a custom-made removable tow hitch.
Jaguar to expand Jaguar XKR-S GT production run?
Wed, 10 Apr 2013According to a report in Autocar, demand for the Jaguar XKR-S GT is such that the English company could nearly double production from 30 to 50 cars. Such inflation can often incense those have already put deposits down, worried that they've both been lied to about the potentially diminished values of their cars, but Jaguar has made the announcement barely a day after the XKR-S GT was revealed and 50 still isn't that many vehicles.
Nothing in the Autocar report indicates the additional examples will not come to America, making the 500-horsepower superfast coupe a treat we can still call all our own. Jaguar didn't add horsepower but instead honed other aspects of the car to produce a GT that can lap the 'Ring nearly as quickly as a Ferrari 458 Italia, and the world should be the beneficiary, the company's brand director saying, "The real beauty of this project has been that it has extended our understanding of the elements involved in making a car go so fast, and that will feed back into all our road car programs." Sounds good to us.
Jaguar Land Rover offers (some) detail about new Ingenium engine
Thu, 10 Jul 2014Jaguar Land Rover officially announced its Ingenium family of engines with the unveiling of the 2.0-liter version in the Jaguar XE concept at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show, but it kept details very thin at the time. All we knew was that the new turbocharged mills could be configured to use gasoline or diesel, and be positioned longitudinally or transversely. Months later, JLR is finally letting some more info slip about its new baby, but there are still some big questions to be answered.
For the Ingenium project, Jaguar Land Rover gave its engineers a clean sheet of paper and told them not to worry about using any previous parts or machinery. In the end, the designers came up with a family of turbocharged, aluminum-block engines based around modular, 500cc cylinders to allow it to grow or shrink as the market demanded. The layout was also made adaptable enough to incorporate hybrid drivetrains, if needed. "Being configurable and flexible are the two key strands of Ingenium's DNA because we have future-proofed our new engines from the outset," said said Ron Lee, the company's director of Powertrain Engineering.
To maximize efficiency, Jaguar promises that all versions of the Ingenium engines come with computer-controlled, variable oil pumps and water pumps to use only as much energy as needed. They also get direct injection, roller bearings for the cams and stop/start. The diesel version alone has 17 percent less internal friction than the mill it replaces, the company claims. JLR is also promising class-leading figures for Ingenium's torque and horsepower too, but it's not giving away those specs just yet.
