THE XK 150 JAGUAR:  The Jaguar XK 150, successor to the XK 120 and XK 140, and predecessor to the E-Type Jaguar Series participated in club racing and the twelve hour and twenty-four hours of Reims and Le Mans.  The XKs did not have the competitive success of the specialty Jaguar C-types or D-types.  The XK 150 was an evolution into a more comfortable Gran Turismo type car with all wheel disc brakes, wire wheels, and a plush interior, while maintaining the strong performance of the dual overhead cam six cylinder Jaguar engine.  The XK type is recognized as a beautiful and timeless example of a Grand Touring automobile.  As stated by AUTOCAR in a 1965 review of the XK 150: "Many believe that in years to come, the Jaguar XK 150 will become a connoiseur's car, sought after and treasured."

JAGUAR XK 150 S831033:  From my research and a review of prior owner's documents, this car was built in late August or early September, 1958 and first sold and registered in 1959.  This car has a 3.4 engine with manual four-speed transmission and is an all-matching numbers car.  It was originally a California car and was stored from 1979 until October, 1997.  The car had 82,020 miles when purchased by the prior owner in 1989 and was restored in 2005.  I purchased the car in 2010 and the odometer currently shows 82,920, which is believed to be the actual mileage.  It is a beautiful and well maintained example in Carmen Red exterior with Biscuit leather interior.  The paint was recently wet-sanded and shot with multiple coats of clear.  A specialist classic Jaguar mechanic has just finished going through the car, rebuilt all disc brakes, and carbureators, replaced the starting carbureator system as original and performed miscellaneous work as needed.  All systems are in good working order other than the gas guage and horn which are not operable.  The body is rust free and appears to be accident free.  All chrome is show quality and the knock-offs and spoke wheels are in excellent condition..  The car starts immediately and the engine sound with stainless dual exhausts turns heads.

This XK 150 is a beautiful example and, with minor effort, can be elevated to prime show-car quality.  It presently is an extremely nice driver.  I am selling the car due to a move to New York City.  I have priced the car to offer interested buyers an opportunity to acquire a truly classic car in excellent shape at a reasonable price.  Interested parties should feel free to email me with any questions or call me at (832) 588-6982.  I will coordinate any professional inspections for interested purchasers.  Buyer is responsible for shipping.  I will assist with transportation and coordinate with shipping agents for foreign buyers.  A $2,000 non-refundable deposit is required within three days with final payment due ten days following the end of the auction.  Seller reserves the right to terminaate the auction in an event of a prior local sale.

Jaguar names its 3 Series-fighter XE, packs it with Ingenium engines

Tue, 04 Mar 2014

Jaguar is committed to emerging from the fringes of the luxury car market and into the mainstream. Just take a look at where it was a couple of decades ago and where it is now: In the 1980s, it had essentially two product lines, the XJ sedan and XJ-S coupe/convertible), and now it's got the XK coupe and convertible, the XJ sedan, the XF sedan and wagon and the F-Type coupe and roadster. But it's not about to stop there.
Coventry knows that if it's going to take on the German and Japanese heavyweights, it's going to need a compact sports sedan, and it's not about to repeat the mistake that was the X-Type. To that end, it's long been rumored to be developing a rival to the likes of the BMW 3 Series and Mercedes-Benz C-Class - it just hasn't given us much to go on. But that changes right here and now.
At the Geneva Motor Show, Jaguar has confirmed the imminent arrival of its new sports sedan, and along with the teaser image above, has given us some juicy details. For one, it'll be called the XE - fitting nicely alongside its big brothers the XF and XJ in Jaguar's growing sedan lineup. For another, it'll hit markets overseas in 2015 and arrive here in the United States in 2016.

This classic Jaguar XJ has a 720-hp ungentlemanly secret

Tue, 19 Nov 2013

Forget Tawny Kitaen. If you want to make a Jaguar XJ rock, just do what this guy did: stuff a heavily modified and turbocharged General Motors V8 under the hood, and take it to the track.
The video calls this Series 1 XJ a sleeper, but with its open exhaust and obvious turbo whistle, the once-gentlemanly sedan is anything but. The owner says that the engine is GM LQ9 V8 that has been stroked to 402 cubic inches putting out around 720 horsepower with 12 pounds of boost (in standard form, this 6.0-liter V8 was used in the second-gen Cadillac Escalade). Check out the video below to see what that kind of power does for this classic Jaguar in the eighth-mile.

Jaguar launches new classic racing series

Fri, 14 Nov 2014

One-make racing series have become all the rage for customers who want to actually race their exotic sports cars (or competition-spec versions of them, anyway). Ferrari, Maserati, Lamborghini and Aston Martin all offer such programs, and Porsche supports several. Now Jaguar is getting in on the action as well, but instead of turning one of its production models - we're looking at you, F-Type - into a spec racer, it's launching an historic racing series instead.
The 2015 Jaguar Heritage Challenge will be open to cars made by the Leaping Cat marque before 1966, including the C-Type, D-Type, E-Type and Mk I and MkII sedans. The series, which builds on the success of the previous Jaguar E-Type Challenge, will be administered by the Historic Sports Car Club (HSCC) based at Silverstone and will include four races in the UK and one in Europe, with the exact schedule still to be determined.
The program was announced at the launch of the Jaguar Heritage Driving Experience, where Jaguar Land Rover Special Operations director John Edwards was also named chairman of the Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust, replacing former Jaguar managing director Mike O'Driscoll who chaired the organization for the past five years.
