For sale is a 1977 Jeep CJ5 with a strong running 304 V8 engine. The engine is original but has had recent work done such as a new distributer, plugs, wires, and a new battery. It had a partial restoration back in 2011. The car starts up, runs, and shifts great. It handles comfortably at highway speeds with a good clutch. There seems to be a squeaky belt in the fan but that's an easy fix. All of the lights and gauges work.
The body is in good condition and looks great. The paint is not perfect, it has some cracks and chips, but still looks great. The body doesn't have much rust and is pretty clean underneath. The interior is in solid condition, the seats have some wear but are still nice and have "besttop" waterproof seat covers. The car comes with two vinyl doors in average condition (refer to pictures), a "besttop" bikini top in good condition, a windjammer which is new, and a Jeep car cover. The spare tire holder was just added and has a great look. This CJ5 has a ton of potential and would make a great driver right now. Mechanically the car is good, it can be driven and is road ready. It looks great, and gets lots of looks while driving. It would be a great summer car and helpful 4x4. Make me an offer. -Jim |

2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee gets surprisingly comprehensive update, new diesel power
Mon, 14 Jan 2013Traditionally, automotive journalists can be heard muttering something to the effect of "Geeze, it's about time!" whenever a vehicle's midcycle refresh is revealed. As we routinely see and drive new models many months before the public even claps eyes on them in showrooms - and then go on to tweeze apart their minutia in our daily writings - perhaps some impatience is to be expected. With so much exposure to a given vehicle, it's fair to say we tire of most cars and trucks far more quickly than the average consumer.
The alterations are handsome, if not subtle touches from the "If It Ain't Broke" school of design.
Which is why we're pleased to say "Oh, is it time for that already?" when it comes to the 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The current WK2 Grand Cherokee hit the market in 2011 and climbed its way into our hearts with its rugged good looks, go-anywhere capability and surprising refinement. We're not yet tired of its appearance or performance, but even so, we're very glad to see Chrysler giving its flagship Jeep some attention, including a much-anticipated diesel powertrain option and some other economy-minded measures.
Freak accident during Jeep demonstration turns fatal
Mon, 20 May 2013A 20-year-old woman was killed in Edmonton, Canada on Satuday, reports CTV News, in a freak accident resulting from a rollover during a Jeep demonstration. As part of a fundraising enthusiast event called "Jeeps Go Topless," the driver of one Jeep Wrangler drove up and onto the top of the tire of another.
CTV reports that the owner of the topmost Jeep then switched the vehicle off, posed for pictures and then dismounted from his vehicle. His movement off of the Jeep apparently caused it to tip over, crushing a woman who was on top of an adjacent vehicle. Edmonton police are currently investigating more fully what caused the parking lot accident to occur. Scroll below to watch the CTV News video report about this tragic incident.
Ward's releases 10 Best Interiors list for 2014
Thu, 10 Apr 2014While we're still a ways off from the automotive awards season proper, where things like North American Car and Truck of the Year, Motor Trend's Car of the Year and Car and Driver's Ten Best are named, that doesn't mean there aren't trophies being handed out to deserving automakers. Ward's 10 Best Interiors being one of them.
As the name might imply, the magazine focuses on the very best interior treatments in the US market. Whereas some awards purposely exclude extreme, high-dollar offerings, Ward's considers them - the only requirement is that a vehicle has a "new or significantly redesigned interior."
