You are looking at my 1980 cj-7. It still has 95% of its original factory paint. Original decals, carpet, seats and top. This jeep only has 77,826 miles on it. The body has normal rust spots but still very solid. The rear frame rails have been boxed with 1/8 inch steel. They had some rust as is typical for cj jeeps. The interior is very nice with only the passenger seat bottom showing wear. Both front seats have adjusting backs. Carpet and dash pad are nice. The soft top is showing its age with a few holes and 2 bad zippers (1 on rear window & 1 on door window). This jeep was originally a 6cyl automatic. Trans was bad when I purchased it. I replaced the engine / trans / transfer case with 1986 Chevrolet suburban items. Engine is a 350 with 4 barrel, trans is 700r4 (with overdrive) and transfer is 208 (I think). Engine and trans have around 20,000 miles on rebuild. I bought a rusted out suburban just for these items. Engine does not burn any oil. Engine has a new starter, and fuel pump. I purchased the conversion engine mounts, aluminum radiator, and headers for the swap. It has plenty of get up and go and sounds awesome with the duel exhaust. All of the gauges, dash lights, and heater controls work properly. It has a new fuel tank and sending unit. All new heavy duty shackles with grease fittings. All 4 Rancho shocks are new. Very good 31-10.50-15 tires with vintage gold wheels. Spare does not hold air. Brand new 12,000 winch that needs to be wired ( I have the wiring). Stainless mirrors, hood hinges, latches, vent, etc. This jeep drives and stops as it should. I have owned and driven this jeep since December of 2012 with no problems. I have recently purchased a truck and do not have room for both of them. I have the clear title in my hand. Buyer required to pay a deposit of $200 by Pay-Pal within 24 hours of auction end. Remainder due in CASH no checks accepted. Buyer responsible for all shipping. I will help a transport load. Thank you.

Chrysler 3.0L EcoDiesel V6: Autoblog Technology of the Year finalist

Wed, 19 Nov 2014

Offering a diesel engine in an American pickup is anything but new - Ford, General Motors and Chrysler all offer excellent and almost impossibly powerful oil-burning engines in their various fullsize trucks. What is new and novel about the 3.0L EcoDiesel, though, is its size, and the variety of vehicles that use it. It's the smallest engine, as far as displacement is concerned, currently offered in a large truck in the US, and, for 2014 and 2015, it is available in the Ram 1500 and the Jeep Grand Cherokee.
Though it may be small, it's got muscle. While 240 horsepower isn't particularly impressive these days, the engine's 420 pound-feet of torque more than makes up for that. The torque rating is even greater force than even the big 5.7-liter Hemi can muster. Chrysler's well-regarded eight-speed automatic transmission makes the most of all that bull-headed pulling power in both the Ram and Grand Cherokee. Chrysler claims the Ram EcoDiesel 1500 can tow as much as 9,200 pounds when properly equipped, which makes it "90-percent of the Hemi with a night and day difference in fuel economy."
Make no mistake; it's that promise of a sizable fuel economy improvement that many long-haul truckers will be most interested in. In the Ram 1500 that we tested for our Tech of the Year competition, the diesel engine costs $2,850 more than the gas-fed V8, and Ram estimates that EcoDiesel buyers will pay off their investment when compared to the Hemi engine in less than three years, which is considerably less time than the 4.5 or so years the average buyer will keep his or her fullsize pickup. The more you drive, the more you'll save, and the math proves equally as effective in the Jeep Grand Cherokee.

Jeep lays out 5-year plan, including rebirth of Grand Wagoneer and new C-segment offering

Tue, 06 May 2014

Fiat Chrysler CEO Sergio Machionne presented a five-year plan for the company brands this morning, with Jeep first up on a long day of presentation. Jeep's head honcho Michael Manley wasted no time in laying out what the foreseeable future will look like for what he calls the "lead global brand" of the company.
Big goals for the next half-decade will include expanding the lineup from five nameplates built in one country, to six nameplates build in six countries. That expansion of models will include both a three-row competitor, and, of course, a small vehicle to slot below Cherokee. The company is also seeking to add a whopping 1,300 dealers over the next few years, to sell all this new metal, and has an aggressive goal of doubling Jeep sales by the time 2018 rolls around.
As expected, that first salvo from the off-road brand will be the debut of the much ballyhooed Renegade small crossover in the third quarter of this year. Jeep has already designated that Renegade will get refreshed for the 2017 model year, as well.

Chrysler recalling hundreds of thousands of Jeep Grand Cherokee and Commander SUVs

Wed, 23 Jul 2014

The public might associated ignition switch recalls with General Motors - and with good cause - but that's not the only automaker calling its vehicles back in to fix that sort of issue.
Last month we reported that the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration was investigating an array of Chrysler Group vehicles for electrical-related safety issues. The administration and Chrysler subsequently issued a recall for 700,000 Dodge Journey crossovers, Dodge Grand Caravan minivans and Chrysler Town & Country minivans. But while the Jeeps that were also under investigation were not covered in that recall, they are being addressed in a separate one now.
Although Chrysler reports that it is only aware of a single accident stemming from this issue, it is "committing now to conduct a recall out of an abundance of caution." The recall affects the 2006-2007 Jeep Commander and 2005-2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee, of which it reports there are 792,300 on the road: 649,900 in the United States, 28,800 in Canada, 12,800 in Mexico and a further 100,800 outside of North America.
