Thank you for looking at my Jeep . This is an absolute collector and a prime example of what a scrambler should be. Aside from the reversible custom fabrication and restoration the Jeeps (bones) are original. All numbers match. All of the restoration (not frame off) was professionally performed with an open checkbook (ouch!) and the entire drive train (motor, trans, transfer case) was rebuilt and new drive lines installed. Bottom line not 1 inch of this jeep has been over looked. If it looked questionable it has been replaced. Every gasket, soft plug, seal and external moving part has been replaced on the engine.. The engine ran perfect prior to rebuild and still does today! the entire braking system has been replaced as well .

The axles were replaced with one piece and the rear (AMC 30 ) has a locking diff. front diff is AMC 20 and the trany is an T-176 Warner 4 speed.

There is a 2.5 in Rancho Lift with Rancho 9000 fully adjustable shocks and dual steering stabilizers. In addition the Pro Comp 33x12.5x15are about 60% good and the matching spare is new. There also a matching custom rear seat not shown in pics. I have whats left of the original hard doors. I had them custom fabed into half doors. Also new for this year is a full 1/2/Cab soft enclosure with 2 piece soft doors.

None of the pics do this jeep justice. Must personally admire, to get full benefit of it's beauty.

This is the second attempt at auction the last high bidder turned out to be a scammer. Also the e bay AUTO CHECK says there is an issue with title. The issue seems to be with the millage although it says it checks out. This Scrambler has been in the family since it was purchased new in 1982 and has never been in a accident and I hold the clear title. All statements in this post are factual.

This Jeep is also listed locally and subject to sale prior to auction ending.
Thanks for shopping and good luck!

Why Mopar won't release a factory lift kit for the new Jeep Cherokee

Thu, 24 Apr 2014

The Jeep Cherokee Dakar concept showed off at the 2014 Easter Jeep Safari made a lot of online friends, even the Cherokee naysayers assenting that there's a monster Jeep underneath the Cherokee's skin if you're willing to go in and get it. But after reading Road & Track's write-up of what went into creating the Dakar, particularly its lift, you'll understand why you'll probably never see the components for it in the Jeep Performance Parts catalog.
The concept's press release mentions a "prototype Jeep Performance Parts lift kit, and additional suspension modifications." The short-story explanation is that the front struts on the standard Cherokee weren't engineered to accept any amount of lift, so the long story begins with the phrase, "an entirely new suspension." Head over to RT to read the details, and don't be afraid to ogle the Cherokee Dakar gallery and another awesome Jeep fancy that won't likely crawl over the hurdles imposed by production reality.

Another crazy custom Jeep Wrangler spotted in Morocco

Sun, 03 Mar 2013

What in the world is the vehicle you see above? Well, um... yeah. We have no idea. According to the video description from YouTube, however, it's a modified Jeep Wrangler, and it comes from the same person who created the equally insane side-by-side merged Wrangler you saw here.
We can clearly make out the Wrangler-shaped passenger compartment up top, but as for the other bits and pieces that make up this rather amazing machine, your guess is as good as ours. At the very least, it seems to us that the car's wheelbase has been given a significant stretch, and the grille may have come from an International LoneStar Harley-Davidson Special Edition semi truck.
What other components are sourced from the massive International hauler? No idea. We suggest you check out the video below and draw your own conclusions. Oh, and if you've got any other ideas, feel free to let us know in the Comments.

2013 AEV Brute Double Cab

Fri, 11 Jan 2013

These are the guys who bring an M777 howitzer to a knife fight. In terms of overall rugged utility, the all-new 2013 Brute Double Cab from American Expedition Vehicles (AEV) is about as overkill as they come, and we can't seem to get enough of the beasts that this company produces. Unlike most aftermarket firms, always striving to lower cost and increase volume (but at the expense of quality), Michigan-based AEV takes pride in its OEM-quality design, engineering, manufacturing and testing. Everything is as good, or better, than the stuff from the factory, and they have been doing it this way for more than 15 years.
Launched at the recent 2012 SEMA show was the 2013 AEV Brute Double Cab. Its debut marked the company's expansion to a four-door Brute on the newer JK platform (drawing inspiration from the Land Rover Defender 130). I recently spent a few hours with the new truck in sunny Southern California, though unfortunately, due to time constraints, I was limited to pavement-only driving impressions.
