This is my 1986 Jeep CJ-7 (pre-wrangler) with V8 automatic engine. This jeep is 4-Wheel Drive and is a pleasure to drive. It has recently been painted black, original color was maroon. It comes with tons of extras, I'll do my best to list them, but might forget a few. It comes with a brand new full softop by bestop, full hard doors, full half soft doors and windows, bikini top, full rain cover, step bars, radio with CD player, tube bumpers with trailer hitch, bestop seat covers over original seats. The drivetrain is built around the Jeep AMC V8 motor which is a 304 cubic cm, 5.0L that runs excellent and has dual magnaflow exhaust. It has a Dana spicer 20 transfer case, with the TH400 automatic transmission. The transfer case has a twin stick shift system so you can shift the front and rear axels into high or low seperatly for better control while 4-wheeling. The rear end is a DANA 44, 1986 was the only year the CJ7 came with the upgraded 44. There are 4 new blisten shocks, with new wide wrangler leaf springs for stability installed SOA for lift. There are quick disconnect sway bar ends so you can easily take them out or put them back in for more flex when needed. The jeep is on 35" all terrain tires that ride nice and quiet on the road, but have never gotten me stuck off road either. The jeep does come with a 9000# winch so you can easily pull others out of trouble. I am not in a hurrry to sell this Jeep, so I will only entertain serious offers. It is garage kept, and I have a clean title in hand. Cash only, no trades. Call, text or email if interested. 407 two seven six 6756

China orders Jeep to investigate Wrangler fire risk

Mon, 06 Jan 2014

It's been some time since we've heard anything about fires related to the Jeep Wrangler (foreign or domestic), but it sounds like the go-anywhere SUV could be in hot water once again in China. Bloomberg is reporting that the Chinese government is ordering Jeep to investigate the matter and, in the meantime, also recommending Wrangler owners to not drive their vehicles in "extreme conditions" due to a "relatively high risk" of catching on fire.
There is no indication as to how many vehicles or which model years are affected, but the previous fire problems in both the US and China - which led to investigations but no recalls - were traced back to automatic transmission fluid leaks. The article, however, does not say what the potential problem is this time around as Jeep has not released a comment on the matter. The official notice, in Chinese, can be found here.

NHTSA boss Strickland weighs in on Jeep recall fracas

Sat, 15 Jun 2013

Adding yet another chapter to the ongoing Jeep recall story, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) head David Strickland has gone on record to defend the government's request that Chrysler recall 2.7 million out-of-production Jeep Grand Cherokee and Jeep Liberty vehicles after the agency investigated fiery rear-end collisions that have reportedly killed at least 51 people over the years. In statements made to The Detroit News, Strickland said, "We felt very strongly that the process that we undertook and the findings that we made and ... we made the decision to issue a recall request. We do not take that very lightly." The top US auto safety regulator stopped short of telling owners to park their cars until the automaker takes action. "They can make their own risk assessment and their own choices," he said.
Chrysler does not intend to recall the models, insisting the "vehicles met and exceeded all applicable requirements of the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards, including FMVSS 301, pertaining to fuel-system integrity" when they were manufactured and sold. "The company does not agree with NHTSA's conclusions and does not intend to recall the vehicles cited in the investigation. The subject vehicles are safe and are not defective," Chrysler announced last week in a statement. "We believe NHTSA's initial conclusions are based on an incomplete analysis of the underlying data, and we are committed to continue working with the agency to resolve this disagreement."
Legally, Chrysler has until June 18 to formally respond to NHTSA's request. If the automaker does not take action, NHTSA is expected to issue a formal finding and seek a recall.

Chrysler to accelerate production of 2013 Ram and V6 engines

Fri, 16 Nov 2012

Chrysler is adding a third shift at its Warren Truck plant to meet demand for the new 2013 Ram pickup. And with tight supplies of its Pentastar V6, the company is also boosting output at its Mack Engine plant.
The expansions will add 1,250 jobs and are part of a $238 million investment by Chrysler in the Detroit area. Warren's third shift will begin work sometime in the spring, a Chrysler rep told Automotive News. Mack's increased Pentastar production a could include both 3.6 and 3.2-liter engines.
The company says it also plans to invest $40 million in its Trenton Engine plant to allow for production of a 3.2-liter V6 as well as the Tigershark inline-four for the upcoming Jeep Liberty replacement.
