1989 Jeep Cherokee Laredo Sport Utility 4-door 4.0l on 2040-cars

Year:1989 Mileage:219160
Location:

Stoneboro, Pennsylvania, United States

Stoneboro, Pennsylvania, United States

For sale, 1989 Jeep Cherokee Laredo. 219,000 miles. Will need work for PA inspection. Rockers rusted out, has exhaust leak. This has been my daily driver for the last 5 yrs. Stopped driving it yesterday because I got a new pickup. It has the inline 6cyl motor, automatic. I was able to register it in ohio, so the last time it was PA inspected was 2012 I believe.

The good-
Runs and drives
heater works
4wd works
decent tires
new starter
new gas tank
new spark plugs
new intake gasket
newer radiator, water pump, thermostat, front coil springs, rear shocks (all done about 2 yrs ago)

The bad-
Has the Jeep wobble if you go above 50 mph (goes away when you get down to 35 mph, then you can continue on your way).

Leaks a little oil at the valve cover
Rusty rocker panels
Loud exhaust
1 crack running across windshield (towards the bottom)
Turn signals have to be manually turned on and off with the lever
interior is dirty
A/C doesn't work
U-joints have started to click when you turn while in 4wd
The plastic coolant reservoir sprung a leak, and was patched. Not leaking since I did it, but I only drive 9 miles a day to work.

**** This is everything I can think of that is wrong with it. Its not a gem by any means, but has never left me stranded. Would make a good mud vehicle or ohio car

Jeep Cherokee sales rival Wrangler after two months

Sun, 29 Dec 2013

In our First Drive article on the 2014 Jeep Cherokee we said, "our informal and thoroughly unscientific opinion is they're going to sell tons of them. Why? Because it is very good." So far, it appears the public concurs. Of course, it's very early - the new compact utility has logged just one month of confirmed sales, but Larry Vellequette at Automotive News says dealers have told him that the second month of sales will be even better, a message that mirrors what we've heard from company execs.
In its first, severely truncated month on sale, the Cherokee sold 579 units. With all of November to play with, though, dealers moved 10,169 of them - compared to 11,753 Wranglers and 14,798 Grand Cherokees. That helped propel Jeep to a 30-percent year-on-year improvement for the month, Chrysler Group to a 16-percent improvement and the group's 44th consecutive month of sales growth, exceeding analyst expectations in posting its best November numbers since 2007.
If it can just keep replicating the its first month of sales, the finalist in North American Truck of the Year voting will smoke the trade done by the outgoing Liberty, which didn't break 7,900 units in a month in the last four years of its life (and normally didn't get close to even that). In March this year, Chrysler said it wants to build 250,000 Cherokees in its Toledo assembly plant for global sales. It's early yet, but with second-month sales quoted as being as "strong as death," the bookies might be resetting the odds.

Jeep Wrangler Willys Wheeler wants mountains, not a stage

Wed, 20 Nov 2013

We've said it before and we'll say it again - while we usually grow tired of the endless barrage of special edition vehicles, that isn't the case with the Jeep Wrangler. Every unique model we encounter seems cooler than the one before it, and this Willys Wheeler Edition is no exception.
The Willys Wheeler package is sort of a throwback to early Jeep CJ models, and wears "Willys" stickers on the hood. There's also a gloss black grille, rock rails to protect the side sills, and unique 17-inch black wheels wrapped in meaty BF Goodrich KM Mud Terrain tires. For proper off-road prowess, this special edition uses a Dana 44 rear axle with a limited-slip differential and a 3.73 final drive ratio.
Look for the Willys edition to hit dealerships early next year, starting at $25,795 for the two-door version and $29,595 for the four-door. Feel free to read all about it in the press release below.

Jeep Wrangler Copper Crawler is our idea of a restrained Mopar shopping spree

Thu, 07 Nov 2013

According to a recent report, the Jeep Wrangler is the most popular SUV for customization, and this is backed up by the fact that the iconic off-roader was just named the Hottest 4x4-SUV at SEMA for the fourth year in a row. Looking for ways to keep its customers in-house rather than going aftermarket, Jeep and Mopar are always teaming to offer exciting new parts and pieces for the JK Wrangler.
Compared to most other Wranglers on display at SEMA - as well as other Chrysler Mopar SEMA concepts - the Jeep Wrangler Copper Crawler is surprisingly reserved, but should be no less exciting for owners to give their Wrangler a distinctive look. Starting off with an eye-catching copper paint scheme, the Jeep then goes on a Mopar catalog shopping spree with its matte black grille, black beadlock wheels, two-inch lift, Rubicon bumper (with a winch and aero end caps up front) and rocker panel and taillight guards.
Jeep also upgraded the Wrangler's transfer case for low-speed rock crawling (hence the vehicle's name) and cold-air intake for extra measure.
