Up for sale is my 1989 Jeep Cherokee Limited 4x4 with the 4.0 Straight Six Engine. I bought it because I had one just like this when I was in High School and lasted forever. The body and interior are in excellent condition for it's age.

The paint is all original without any peeling at all, only a couple of very minor scratches here and there. The front end has no road rash or stone chips. I took the pictures today and the truck has not been washed and the marks in the front are just bugs. The truck still have the "Jeep" Fog Lamps Covers which are almost impossible to find. There's a dent in the rear bumper as shown in the pictures.

There's zero rust in the body, wheel wells, door seams etc.

The leather seats are in incredible condition !! They don't even show normal wear. The original jack, handle and lug wrench and the original full size spare tire with the honeycomb wheel has never been out of the truck. The truck also has the original cargo cover and spare tire cover as well. The headliner was redone before I purchased it and is perfect without any sagging. I have a brand new LeBra front cover and that will be included. Carpet could use a good shampoo to remove some stains.

The truck has power windows, locks, seats, mirrors, antenna and they all work. The radio is the original Jeep Radio and does not work, but the antenna goes up and down when you turn the radio on/off. Lights, Fog Lamps, Horn, Wipers, Turn Signals, Dome Lights they all work.

All four tires are brand new and in the correct size and were just installed and balanced at Discount Tire at a cost of $407.00 just before my purchase  (I have the receipts) and looks really nice. Tires have less than 2000 miles on them. Truck does not vibrate or pulls to the sides even at 75mph.

There's some thing that needs attention and since I'm not a mechanic it's been hard for me to find somebody to help me, besides I work a lot and I just don't have time to fix these issues, although by checking in the Jeep Cherokee Forums looks like easy to fix. The thing that needs to be fixed are:

1-The gas gauge works but reads backwards.

2-The cruise control and the A/C does not works and the air only comes out the dash vents. I was told that there's a vacuum leak somewhere, but haven't been able to find it. The air compressor turns on, but still no cold air.

3-The brake light and antilock lights are on. The Jeep had a lot work done at the Jeep dealership in GA (I have all receipts) and there's a bad sensor that was ordered but is in backorder, so I'm waiting for it.

The Jeep does not leak oil or coolant, does not overheat. It does leak a drop of oil from the transfer case every 3 or 4 days.

I tried to describe the Jeep the best I could, but if you have any other questions, please ask, I'll respond honestly and as quickly as possible.

The price is negotiable (my loss is your gain), feel free to email me with any offer but please, don't try to lowball me. Also you are more than welcome to come and see it.

I have a clean Georgia title. The truck is under the previous owner's name that can be reached if necessary, but I have the title and all documents.

For all Jeep fans, you will not find another Limited model with a body as straight and original as this one. Paint looks like new, all the trim is original and present, the weather stripping is soft and supple and the original tinted glass is beautiful. You can tell that has been garaged it's entire life. It does needs some TLC but for me, the fact that the exterior / interior are in great shape is a plus.

Thanks for looking !!

Watch this R/C Jeep Wrangler plow snow

Mon, 06 Jan 2014

There's no denying the fact that the Jeep Wrangler is one tough and rugged vehicle, and there is apparently little lost when the SUV is shrunk down for a 1:10th scale radio-controlled version. Proving that the Axial SCX10 Jeep Wrangler is not your run-of-the-mill R/C car, YouTube user Andrew Dykiel posted a pair of videos showing it clear about an inch of snow from his sidewalk and driveway during a snow storm last month.
Starting at $379.99, the Axial SCX10 costs more than most budget snowblowers, but other than paying a neighbor kid to shovel your snow, this might be the best way for a car guy to clear snow without the need for hot chocolate and ibuprofen. Better yet, it's electric, so it's zero-emission answer to snow removal! Scroll down to see how this R/C Jeep can help "shovel" snow from the warmth of your sofa. We've also thrown in a bonus video showing the mini Jeep negotiating the Rubicon Trail.

These cars are headed to the Great Crusher In The Sky

Fri, 24 Aug 2012

It happens every year. We bid adieu to some cars and trucks that will be missed, and say good riddance to others wondering how they stayed around so long. Whether they're being killed off for slow sales or due to a new product coming along to replace them, the list of vehicles being discontinued after 2012 is surprisingly long and diverse.
CNN Money has compiled a list of departing vehicles, to which we've added a few more of our own. In the slow sales column, cars like the Lexus HS 250h, Mercedes-Benz R-Class and the full Maybach lineup appear, while the Ford Escape Hybrid, Mazda CX-7 and Hyundai Veracruz are all having their gaps filled with more modern and more fuel-efficient alternatives. Obvious exceptions to the rule include models that still sell in decent numbers like the Jeep Liberty and the Chrysler Town & Country (which will eventually be replaced by a crossover-like vehicle).
Check out our gallery of discontinued cars above, then scroll down for more information.

This American Life spends a week selling Jeeps in Long Island

Thu, 19 Dec 2013

So you think you know car dealers? Well, maybe you do, but This American Life spent a month at Town and Country Jeep Chrysler Doge Ram in Long Island to give us a behind-the-scenes look (or listen, since it's a radio program) at what it's like to be a car dealer.
Yes, there's a lot of swearing in thick New York accents, frustration, confusion, and generally it's a madhouse at the dealership. But that's understandable when the sales staff has to sell 129 vehicles in October in order to get an $85,000 manufacturer bonus - with several other Jeep dealerships within a 10-mile radius.
The episode, 129 Cars, is worth a listen, but make sure you have 71 minutes to spare if you want to get through it in one sitting. Head here for the unedited version or here for the bleeped version (which is 58 minutes long).
