1991 Jeep Cherokee Limited Leather Power Seats, Windows, 4.0 Big Tires Low Miles on 2040-cars

Year:1991 Mileage:136000
Location:

Saint Charles, Illinois, United States

Saint Charles, Illinois, United States

This is a 1991 Jeep Cherokee Limited. It has just about everything in it you could get factory from power leather seats to power door locks. I really only used this as a play truck, running back and forth with it and a small fishing boat, a pair of jet skis or my snowmobiles. This truck always starts and runs great. I never thought twice about jumping in and running 80mph to Wisconsin. All the power accessories work as they should. Power seats, Power locks, Power windows, Power mirrors, Etc.  The rear has a super duty receiver which is wired for both 4 flat and 6 round. The rims are updated to Jeep Wrangler rims. All 8 of the front lights work. It comes with a spare tire (Proper matching rim but 30" tire.) Has original privacy shade for the rear. The issues are; The sills are rusted out on both sides mainly from backing in boats. ( I have new replacements for both sills and a strip of door replacement but never got around to it.) I have cut away the wheel wells trim to allow for 32" wheels without a lift. I do have the four original fender flairs for it. The A/C has been disconnected for about 5 years as I rerouted the air intake for a snorkel. (The rerouting is complete, I just never bought the snorkel) The A/C worked when I started, But it would need 2 metal lines and a charge to make it operational. The muffler rotted away about 4 years ago, since this is a 1991 and does not need emissions testing, I put a short pipe Cherry Bomb exhaust on ( It ends under the passenger rear seat. (No more bubbles when I Back a boat.) The driver side Tail lights need a new wiring pig tail with bulbs. Currently they don't work. The drivers door has a dent in it ( please see images.) And the drivers door vent window is missing the clasp. I only have 1 key for this truck, When I bought it 10 years ago the original owner he could not find the remotes. The security system works very well when set with the key, but it is very sensitive! I had to unhook the horns with in the first 2 week of owning this cause it would go off for no reason. ( from what I under stand that is common and it can be reset by the Dealer, but it never bothered me much (it was usually parked unlocked in my garage.) The Drivers seat has a hole in it so I keep seat cover on the fronts. Over all this has been a GREAT truck and I am a bit sad to let it go. But it spends to much time taking up space in the garage as most of the time we go to Wisconsin lately we end up taking the Range Rover. No Reason to keep it... Please keep in mind that this truck is 23 years old! If you don't know a wrench from a screw driver, this is probably not the truck for you. also, I have not driven this that much in the last year, I am sure there are things I am forgetting to say both good and bad. Also, If you do not have the intent of following through with this purchase please be kind to others and not waste our time!!!

LA-bound 2014 Jeep Wrangler special edition gives us the Willys for $25,795

Mon, 18 Nov 2013

The Jeep Wrangler might be the reigning king of special editions, but with sales records being broken almost all year, this plan is obviously resonating with buyers. Joining new models like the Dragon Edition and Polar Edition, the 2014 Jeep Wrangler is adding a new Willys Wheeler Edition to pay homage to Jeep's military heritage.
Getting ready for its big debut at the LA Auto Show, the 2014 Jeep Wrangler Willys Wheeler Edition is inspired by early Willys CJ (Civilian Jeep) models with exclusive styling and upgraded off-road goodies. Starting with a Wrangler Sport, these upgrades include a Dana 44 rear axle with limited-slip differential and 3.73 gears, along with meaty BF Goodrich KM Mud Terrain tires mounted to the Willys Wheeler's black 17-inch wheels. For more of a classic Jeep look, this model adds a gloss black grille, "Willys" hood stickers and rock rails to protect the side sills. Jeep is also tossing in a D-ring, tow strap and gloves that are all kept in a special carrying bag.
When it goes on sale early next year, the Wrangler Willys Wheeler Edition will start at $25,795 for the two-door model, while the four-door will start at $29,595. There's an official press release posted below, and we'll be sure to have live images of the special-edition Wrangler live from the LA Auto Show floor later this week, so stay close.

2014 Jeep Cherokee configurator up and running

Fri, 09 Aug 2013

Production delays aside, Jeep is steaming towards its September on-sale date for the 2014 Cherokee. The reborn midsizer's configurator has just gone live, meaning you can fiddle with different options, colors and trim levels to your heart's content.
The cheapest model available is the 4X2 Sport, which starts at a reasonable $22,995. On the high end, the Cherokee's builder allowed us to indulge our passion for ludicrously priced vehicles by outfitting the top-end Trailhawk, which already starts at $29,495, with $8,610 in options. The resulting car, which you can see above, would retail for $39,100 after the $995 destination is factored in.
Head on over to Jeep's build-it-yourself website and have a look around.

Fiat-based baby Jeep spotted testing in US and Europe

Thu, 03 Oct 2013

Details remain scarce, but our spy photographers have managed to capture the upcoming Jeep B-segment crossover for the first time, testing in both the Alps and in the US. Shown here as a cobbled-together Fiat 500L mule, the new Jeep model is expected to arrive for the 2015 model year and act as a replacement for the current Compass and Patriot models.
According to our shooter, the new "baby Jeep" will share a platform with the Fiat 500X, and both models will be built on the same assembly line in Turin, Italy. We can't tell much from these images, but the added length apparent on this 500L mule would seem to dispel the recent speculation that the new entry-level Jeep model would be sized closer to the Ford Fiesta - since the 500L is already considerably larger than the Fiesta. Powertrain options will likely mirror other Fiat/Chrysler collaborative vehicles like the Dodge Dart, but this Jeep will also try to live up to its off-road roots with an optional all-wheel-drive system.
