this jeep has lots of lovin left, we purchased this vehicle to trick it out with the big tires  and all, but with my husband being disabled and I no longer a spring chickling, we just cant continue. we had waited so long to get the 2 door jeep for our project car,, but I guess it took too long and although our minds say go the body and the pocket book say no.. there are new parts we started to put into the vehicle, like tires, shocks, battery and more. .  the truck is an automatic and  it runs and the 4 wheel drive works. we started the restoration by removing the interior seats, headliner, rug.. I have shampooed them all and all the stuff is there but, you will have to put back in.   we started to do repair on some of the rust on the floorboards.  it was in the garage for some time but we needed to use our garage, and has been sittng out side and not used, for the last year. . this is NOT a new vehicle and will not run or look like a new vehicle.  This is a 21 year old vehicle and does have rust,  and may need something mechanical from sitting, in short the vehicle runs but may need some maintenance ,,,also we noticed a leak in the front windshield that we put some sealer in, but that may need some more pookie on it, its located by  top of the rear view mirror. I did have this vehicle on the road but let the inspection and registration laps to start the restoration.  so we haven't ran it on the road for the last year or so..  I don't know what else to say but it needs your lovin.  its a good base truck to get started..all  you jeepers will see through the roughness.. I also will be selling seperatly, some of the  body parts that I was going to replace for the restoration, email me with any questions as I offer no returns no refunds, no warranty.. vehicle is sold as is, in very used condition..  winning bidder to make a $100.00 non refundable deposit into pay pal upon auction end, and the balance due in CASH, upon pickup.. Pickup is expected with in 7 days of auction end, unless you make other arrangements with me.  if not picked up as agreed , your deposit will be forfeited and jeep will be relisted. this jeep is for sale locally, I will end auction early only if there is no bidders.  Please understand I have to pay all fees associated with the winning bid, so please don't think you can renegociate  a lower  sale price when you come to pick up the vehicle..your balance due will be your winning bid minus your deposit.. thanks for understanding..

Marchionne uses racial epithet to describe what must power future Alfa Romeo models

Wed, 16 Jan 2013

Sergio Marchionne and his Fiat empire have a lot riding on the US return of the Alfa Romeo brand. The endeavor has been in progress for what feels like a lifetime - certainly for as long as Fiat has had the Chrysler brand under its Italian wing.
It's not surprising that Fiat CEO Marchionne needs a perfect first Alfa to mark a return to America. And here's where things get dicey. Nobody would argue with Marchionne's insistence that Alfa Romeo's be powered by Italian engines - as Marchionne himself is quoted to have said at the 2013 Detroit Auto Show, "There are some things that are well done in Italy."
If not what he said, then, it's how he said it that has eyebrows raised. "I cannot come up with a schlock product, I just won't. I won't put an American engine into that car. With all due respect to my American friends, it needs to be a wop engine." Wait, what's that?

Key-swapping thieves steal Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT from FL dealer

Sat, 09 Nov 2013

Just a few weeks back, we reported on the theft of an Audi RS5 by a pair of creative thieves who managed to swipe the car's keys when the salesperson stepped away from their desk. Now, a Florida dealership is missing a Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8 after some crooks switched the Jeep's keys with an identical, non-functioning set.
According to the report from local NBC affiliate WPTV, the men went in and spoke to a dealer about the Jeep. They walked outside, took a look at it, started it up and in the process managed to switch out the fobs. After doing their time with the salesperson, the thieves walked back out to the car, got in and drove away.
"I mean obviously, the way it was done, I think that they were professionals and they knew what they were doing," said Arrigo Jeep General Manager Joe Tufo. "The fact that they did it in broad daylight and switched the key fob and it was like it was nothing. That's what makes it unique," he added.

2016 Jeep Wrangler to ditch solid axles to save weight?

Tue, 29 Oct 2013

Hey, Jeep fans. If you think the idea of a funky-looking, car-based Cherokee revival is offensive, have a listen to what might be in store for the next-gen Jeep Wrangler. Automotive News is reporting that as Jeep develops the 2016 Wrangler, weight reduction is a crucial target, and the Wrangler's rugged solid axles could be sacrificed in the name of better fuel economy.
We've already heard the next Wrangler will go on a serious diet using aluminum body panels and an air suspension system, so the idea of a four-wheel independent suspension setup for this OG SUV isn't all that surprising. Besides, it's not like an independent suspension would limit the Wrangler's off-road abilities - just check out the Hummer H1. In fact, it might be the aftermarket parts companies - not Wrangler enthusiasts - who would be most disappointed by such a drastic suspension change, as the article states that the Wrangler's solid axles and coil-link suspension make it the most popular SUV for customization.
There are probably still a couple years before we'll start hearing any concrete details about the 2016 Wrangler, at which time it will be interesting to see how stricter fuel economy and crash safety regulations have been balanced with traditional Wrangler cues like its removable doors and roof and folding windshield. Let us know in the comments below if a Wrangler sans solid axles is any less of a Wrangler.
