My Father bought this Jeep used, it was about 10 years old and had roughly 110,000 miles on it. It has always run good and been very dependable. As far as I know it has never been wrecked. I will attempt to describe the good the bad and the ugly as honestly as I can.
THE BODY: The paint looks ok for its age. Plenty of minor scratches and blemishes. As far as I know the car has never been repainted. No serious rust. Minor surface rust along the bottom of the drivers side front door. Small dent at the bottom of the drivers side front door as well. Fist sized dent on the roof above the passenger side front door, (a storm dropped a tree limb on the car). There is a small hole drilled in the roof for a "CB" antenna. It has been sealed with silicone. It was there when we bought the car. The passenger side rear tail-light lens is cracked and broken, (the clear lens over the back-up light ). It has never been a problem as far as state inspection goes. Water leaks into the interior around the windshield and front doors. It is annoying during heavy rain. Silicone was applied around the windshield, it was a sloppy job and it did not stop the leaks. The front doors would not close tight enough to turn off the interior light, so we removed the bulb from the dome light. Years ago, the driver's side front door fell off, hinges and all. We had a body shop align it and weld it back on. In 2012 the driver's front door refused to open. We spent $190.00 having the door latch hardware replaced. All doors and the tailgate open and close as they should. There is no broken or cracked glass, all the windows roll up and down as they should.
MECHANICAL and ELECTRIAL: Six cylinder, 4.0L,(242CI) engine runs strong. It uses about a quart of oil between regular oil changes. The automatic transmission shifts as it should and does not leak. A used transfer case was installed in 2009 by a professional mechanic. Four wheel drive works as it should. The speedometer and odometer have not been accurate since the used transfer case was installed, they read too low. Headlights, tail-lights, turn signals work as they should. The oil pressure sender has failed at least twice and caused the oil pressure gage to be inaccurate and it weeps small amounts of oil. We had the AC system recharged in 2012, then the AC/Heater fan quit working. The neutral safety switch on the transmission is failing. This switch tells the car that it is in park or neutral and allows it to start. A professional mechanic adjusted the switch so you can push forward on the gear shift lever in order to start the car. In 2011 a new battery was installed. Also we replaced the spark plugs, distributer cap, ignition wires, rotor button, air filter, and installed a remanufactured starter. The plastic tanks of the radiator are getting old and brittle. The upper inlet where the hose attaches broke off and there was nothing for the hose to clamp onto. I built it up with epoxy and then epoxied a piece of copper water pipe on top of that to give the hose something to clamp on to. This patch might last for the life of the car or it might fail next week. A new upper radiator hose and clamps were installed. New front brake pads were installed in 2010. One tire is good, three tires are just ok. Good spare tire. The check engine and low washer fluid "idiot lights" stay on most of the time, as far as I can tell they mean nothing. This car has had less than 2,500 miles put on it since my father died in 2010.
Interior: The front driver's seat has a small rip in the vinyl. The carpets and head liner are ok. For the most part the interior looks like what you would expect on a 19 year old car. The review mirror came unglued from the windshield, it is not broken it just needs to be glued back on. The car smells musty inside like old wet carpet. It is noticeable but not bad. Solid air fresheners from the dollar store help.
No warranty is expressed or implied, this car is sold as is where is. You are welcome to come look at the car and take it for a test drive, in fact I urge you to do so. E-mail questions through EBAY, or call 82 eight- 50 eight- 04 three 6. There is no buy it now price. I reserve the right to end this sale at any time for any reason. Thanks for looking and happy bidding

WWII Jeep 'found in crate' set to cross Greenwich auction block
Thu, 30 May 2013Fans of old military vehicles might want to pay extra close attention to the Greenwich Concours d'Elegance coming up this weekend. Crossing the Bonhams auction block on Sunday are a pair of seemingly flawless World War II Jeeps, which are both expected to fetch serious dollars.
Lot Number 305 at the auction is a 1945 Ford GPW Jeep that has been fully restored, which is expected to command between $35,000 and $45,000. Shortly after the Ford GPW, a potentially more interesting 1944 Willys MB (shown above) will be auctioned off, but Hemmings raises some red flags about this Jeep. First, it is claiming to have been "discovered in its original crate about 30 years ago," but there is no proof or documentation of any sort. Also, it is claiming to be all original, but it was given a paint job "shortly after it was discovered." Even with these questionable descriptions, this Willys could reach between $20,000 and $30,000. Head over to Bonhams' site and Hemmings for more information on both WW2-era Jeeps.

2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee Diesel and SRT climb onto stage
Mon, 14 Jan 2013This is indeed a case of not knowing how much we wanted something until it arrived. We've been big fans of the Jeep Grand Cherokee ever since the new model arrived a couple of years ago, and while the update you see here might seem just a slight refresh, it's actually much more than that.
For starters, the 2014 Grand Cherokee marks the return of a diesel model here in the States, with Chrysler's new 3.0-liter EcoDiesel V6 under the hood, churning out 240 horsepower and 420 pound-feet of torque, mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission. Of course, all of the Grand Cherokee's usual off-road goodies are on hand, with moderate tweaks to make it an even more capable vehicle when the going gets rough. Both the gasoline-fed 3.6-liter V6 and 5.7-liter V8 get the new eight-speed auto, as well.
The high-performance Grand Cherokee SRT also trudges on into the new model year, with very subtle tweaks found underneath the aggressive, slightly redesigned sheetmetal. The 6.4-liter Hemi V8 also gets eight-speed gearing, which Chrysler says will improve not only 0-60 times, but mid-range performance as well. Bring it on, we say.
