I have never seen an FJ Cherokee with so many options. What a nice vehicle. Has a valid State Inspection sticker. For those of you not familiar, Maryland does a one time inspection that checks everything from fluid leaks, brakes, and seat belts to alignment, tire tread, suspension parts and exhaust. The inspection is backed up by the state police (not jokesters) to discourage, and pretty much eliminate fraud. Although vehicle is being sold as-is with no warranty.

The mileage is mostly highway and the motor was rebuilt professionally (we have serviced this vehicle for many moons). The transmission was rebuilt less than 24,000 miles ago and the motor was taken out and rebuilt 68,000 miles ago. Differential services have been performed every 24,000 miles and the oil has been changed with Mobil clean 5w30 with a Lucas heavy duty stabilizer additive every 1 months (3,000 miles). Transmission is flushed every 18,000 miles, with OEM Approved Amalie Synthetic Transmission Fluid. Power steering, coolant, and brake fluid are replaced/flushed every start of summer and end of fall with the corresponding Lucas additive product (brake fluid is Dot 4). Throttle body and 3 Stage Fuel Air Induction Service is performed twice a year on this vehicle as well, as they are known for residue in all areas of the fuel rail/intake and throttle body areas eventually causing blockages. Every time a brake job has been one to this vehicle the calipers have recieved new hardware and slides. Has very nice quality Michelin tires with great tread. The color is that very striking lush forest green pearl. Interior has dark walnut burl look trim with very nice tan leather seating. Everything works. No oil leaks, no brake pulsations, no rough idle, this vehicle you can tell has been taken care of. Some may think that this maintenance schedule is unnecessary but, some may also not be able to drive vehicles with high mileage.

The cons - All cosmetic and can be seen in photos; scrapes on driver side, paint is faded on top and hood/cowl area, front of driver front seat has wear.

Runs and drives great, these vehicles were built to last. There is a cult following with these vehicles and I understand it; they go anywhere you want them to, they are built to last and it has every comfort known to the luxury car owner. If you are looking at this vehicle then you know what these trucks are really worth and how RARE it is to have these options and this awesome color combo. Again the vehicle has passed, really passed (not a purchased faked sticker) we had to replace a washer fluid line because it was leaking, Maryland State Inspection and is ready to drive away.

Jurassic Park made a big impact on these Jeep drivers

Thu, 12 Jun 2014

For a certain cohort of young folks, Jurassic Park is a touchstone film from their childhood. Not only did it play into practically every little boy's love of dinosaurs, the movie included some great action scenes and special effects that still hold up today. In its latest video, The Aficionauto takes a look the Jurassic Park Motor Pool, a California car club with over 40 fans who created replica vehicles from the iconic film.
The club is made up of an interesting cross-section of people. Many of them were Jeep Wrangler fans that already loved off-roading and Jurassic Park, and liked the idea of bringing them together. Like any close-knit club, it ends up being about community and people coming together to share their interests. It's quite a heartwarming video. Also, be sure to stay until the end because The Aficionauto teases a future Jurassic Park-themed vehicle. Scroll down to check out the motor pool.

AEV Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon

Fri, 28 Feb 2014

After their rented 2007 Hummer H3 failed them during the brutal Rallye Aicha des Gazelles in Morocco, Amy Lerner and her sister Tricia Reina were on a quest to find the most capable production off-roader for their next competition - they chose a 2012 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon. Their next mission was to find a company with the competence to configure it to win. After poring over Internet forums and perusing countless magazines for an outfitter who could meet their demanding requirements, they sent their bright orange JK ("Crush" is the official color) to American Expedition Vehicles (AEV) for some modifications.
The Michigan-based team at AEV kept the Jeep's 3.6-liter V6 and automatic transmission stock, but replaced the hood with a tall AEV Heat Reduction Hood and added an AEV Snorkel Kit for water crossings (it serves double-duty as its raised height helps to keep the air intake out of the kicked-up dust on the trail). Front and rear off-road bumpers were bolted in place, and AEV skid plates were added to provide additional undercarriage protection. A pair of IPF-900 off-road lights improve visibility, while a 10.2-gallon AEV Fuel Caddy (located behind the exterior spare) added some range. The suspension was upgraded with a 3.5-inch lift kit with Bilstein remote reservoir shocks, and 35-inch Falken Wildpeak A/T tires (LT285/70R17) were mounted at all four corners on AEV's beadlock wheels.

Chrysler's Woodward Dream Cruise festivities include Ram concept truck debut

Tue, 13 Aug 2013

The streets will be crowded next weekend along Woodward Avenue in Royal Oak, Michigan for the 19th Annual Woodward Dream Cruise. As part of the run-up to the festivities, Chrysler has announced that all of its brands - Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge, Ram, Fiat, SRT and Mopar - will bring along their latest vehicles. Also included will be a collection of classic American cars and various activities for attendees at the official Chrysler location on the corner of Woodward and 13 Mile Road.
Special to this year, Ram brand director Bob Hegbloom and head of design John Dehner will unveil a Ram concept truck on Saturday. Chrysler will also bring Ryan Friedlinghaus of West Coast Customs fame along to show off a few custom Chrysler-made vehicles of his own. Fans of the brand on Facebook will get the chance to virtually customize a vehicle from the automaker's portfolio, with the winner getting their dream car built for them by Chrysler. Pretty cool stuff, no?
As in past years, Ford and General Motors will have an official presence at the event as well, and you can expect to see plenty of cars of all makes and models from all parts of the globe. The madness starts this Friday, August 16, from 4:30 PM to 10 PM, with the main event taking place on Saturday, from 9 AM to 9 PM. For more details on the show, including events and their times, check out the press release below.
