The jeep starts, drives and handles like it should.  All power options work as well.  And with a full service just done, it's got a lot of life left.

There are a few negatives, and I am honest about them, I don't want you to be upset when you didn't know about them so here they are.
  • The hood has NO clear coat yet, it doesn't look awful but it doesn't shine
  • The last owner hit someone doing <15 miles an hour, but it was reported and left its mark, it's slight but the front bumper was pushed in, and then there was a fix of someone trying to push it out from the back.  It isn't really huge but it's there and could be fixed for under 100 bucks with new bumper.
  • There are scuffs on both front wheel guards
  • There are a few dings and dents on it, all small but it is 14 years old.
  • the rear hatch pistons are on there way out, very cheap fix, I just didn't notice to order the part.

It is mechanically awesome, so once you buy this you wont have a reason to buy something else for years to come (a negative for some)

Here are a LOT of pictures!

Now the fun stuff.  If you'd like to see it prior to bidding please call me to set it up. there is no water or flood damage ( yes it is from NJ but we aren't all near the coast)

At the close of the auction, there will be a deposit via paypal for $250.  If you are close and we are going to close this out within a day or two, don't worry about that but call me (917-579-3896) prior.

Full payment must be made within one week of auction ending.  And vehicle must be picked up.

I CAN DELIVER the vehicle for $1.25 a mile ( figured one way distance from zip code 10307)  if that's what you'd like we can work that out as well.

I can also pick you up at Newark Airport and bring you to the vehicle,  ( I can't do LGA or JFK sorry)

The only accepted payment is a cashiers check or the preferred Cash.

Jeep Wrangler diesel likely after 2015 model refresh

Thu, 28 Feb 2013

We automotive journalists aren't always the right people to ask about whether a US-spec vehicle should or should not be offered with a diesel powertrain (hint: the answer is usually "YES"). But when it comes to the iconic, off-road-ready Jeep Wrangler, we aren't the only ones who have been clamoring for an oil-burning engine behind that famous seven-slat grille. To that end, it appears there's good news on the horizon, as Jeep CEO Mike Manley recently told Ward's Auto that the "Wrangler is on the radar to get (a) diesel."
"I'm confident that the Grand Cherokee will show just how large a demand there is for diesel, and I think what that will do is reinforce the need for us to target Wrangler as a vehicle that can take a diesel," Manley told Ward's. The most rugged of Jeeps is scheduled to get an overhaul around 2015-16, and the diesel powertrain will likely be introduced around that time.
This year alone, Chrysler will be adding a diesel engine to the Grand Cherokee SUV, as well as the Ram 1500 pickup and Promaster utility van.

Jeep Liberty under investigation for door fires

Tue, 29 Oct 2013

The Jeep Liberty has already had plenty of attention for possible fires thanks to the first-gen model's fuel tank, but now the midsize Jeep is under the microscope of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration for another fire-related concern. NHTSA has opened an investigation for the 2012 Liberty after receiving two reports of electrical fires in the driver's door.
According to the investigation summary, around 80,000 vehicles could potentially be affected by this problem. In both reported fires, the drivers noticed smoke and then flames from the master power window switch, and they had to pull to a stop and exit through the passenger side of the SUV. According to Autoguide, there was one injury to a motorist who suffered burned fingers while trying to open the driver's door.
Interestingly, the Dodge Nitro is not yet involved in this investigation, even though it was still around for the 2012 model year; the Nitro ended production in 2011 about a year before the final Liberty rolled off the line for the 2013 model year. Chrysler reports $166M net income for Q1, down $307M vs. 2012

Mon, 29 Apr 2013

Preliminary first-quarter results from 2013 have been announced by Chrysler, and the company is reporting a net income of $166 million on revenue of $15.4 billion. Compared to this period last year, net income is down $307 million and revenue has dropped $1 billion.
Chrysler says that its quarter was negatively affected by the costs associated with launching its 2013 Ram Heavy Duty, 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee and preparation for the return of the all-new 2014 Jeep Cherokee pictured above. The launches should provide a strong second half of 2013, says the automaker. "We remain on track to achieve our business targets, even as the first-quarter results were affected by an aggressive product launch schedule," said Chrysler Group LLC Chairman and CEO Sergio Marchionne.
On a positive note, the automaker says worldwide vehicle sales are up 8 percent from one year ago, a number pushed by a 12 percent bump in U.S. retail sales. In addition, domestic market share has risen slightly, up to 11.4 percent from 11.2 percent last year. Read more in the official statement below.
