2001 Jeep Cherokee Factory RHD, 4x4 Four Door. Power Window, Power Locks. 189,700 miles. Re-built transmission at 177,650 miles. I have owned this Jeep since approx. 135k miles. I am the second owner. Well maintained since I have owned it and many new parts put in. When first purchased in March of 2011- Tie rods, track bar, upper and lower ball joints, right window regulator, turn signal flasher, front axle u-joints, transmission mount, rear hatch latch. 2012- Valve cover set, oil seal, shocks, e-brake cables, harmonic balancer.
2013- Transmission rebuilt at 177,650. Idler pulley. 2014- Alternator, repaired wiring in right front door that controlled all of the power windows. Front Right axle u-joint, Right and Left front wheel bearings, new drilled and slotted rotors, new calipers, and new pads. The tires have good tread of them. I also have a second set of rims. I had summer and winter tires the extra rims made it easy to switch out. There is some rust on the bottom of the doors and rocker panels but no rust through that I can see. I took it to a guy and had them sand it and put rhino liner on those parts to try to slow down the rust but that is coming off so it needs to be done again. There is some rust through on the left rear wheel well. The rest of the wheel wells are just some rust but no rust through that I can see. The passenger side door (left) armrest that goes up around the window controls is cracked. The bezel that goes around the shifter is broken. It was that way when I bought it and I have taken it apart a couple of times and re-glued it. The light works and you can see what gear your in, it just sits a little crocked. You might be able to order a new one through Jeep. To my knowledge everything else works. I always replaced things as they were needed so it should be good to go. It has an after market radio so you have a CD player. I also have a set of boards that if you take all of the passenger seats out completely, the boards go in to make the entire inside a flat surface for delivering mail. Europe gets Jeep Wrangler Polar limited edition
Wed, 04 Sep 2013Jeep will be bringing an all-new, limited-edition model to the European market called the Wrangler Polar. Based on the Wrangler Sahara and set to make its debut at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show, the Wrangler Polar sports new Hyrdro Blue paint, gloss black 18-inch wheels, a body-color hardtop, and the regular mix of Mopar styling accessories. Billet Silver Metallic and Bright White are available for those that don't dig the glossy blue, while a two-door variant will be available in addition to the four-door pictured above.
The Polar's interior features similar tweaks; Pearl White contrast stitching can be found on both the seats and steering wheel, while ceramic White bezels and other accents give a nice contrasting look to the cabin.
Underhood sits an engine that should make American Wrangler enthusiasts weep - a 2.8-liter, four-cylinder turbodiesel. With 200 horsepower and 339 pound-feet of torque channeled through a five-speed automatic transmission, the Wrangler Polar should handle itself just fine on normal roads. British buyers will also be able to select the 3.6-liter Pentastar V6. For rougher stuff, Dana axles can be found front and rear (Dana 30 up front and Dana 44 in back), while the Command-Trac four-wheel-drive system and its two-speed transfer case should be enough for when the roads disappear.
Millionth Jeep Wrangler JK to roll off line this morning
Fri, 17 May 2013According to a report on the Chrysler Communications Facebook page and one fairly grainy image of the production line, at around 11:00AM Eastern this morning, the one-millionth Jeep Wrangler JK will roll out of the company's Toledo assembly plant.
The third-generation or "JK" Jeep Wrangler has been around since the 2007 model year, and has obviously been more popular than ever. With a greater than ever number of trim levels, two-door and four-door Unlimited models and hardy off-roading Rubicon packages, the JK offers more to choose from than ever for those looking for something in a traditional Jeep. In fact, with the modern 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 powering it, the 2012 model year saw more than 140k Wrangers sold here in the US; the best-ever figure for the model.
With a model refresh due out for the Wrangler in 2015 (along with the likely addition of a diesel engine option), we expect that sales will continue to roll right along, too.
2014 Easter Jeep Safari kicks off with six concepts
Thu, 10 Apr 2014The 2014 Easter Jeep Safari is set to begin this weekend in Moab, Utah, and while it's sure to be a blast for Jeep enthusiasts from all corners of the world, we're looking forward to the wild, off-road ready concepts that Jeep will be bringing to the red rocks. As you can see in our handy headline, there are six such vehicles in total, each of which sports a variety of tweaks and custom bits.
Unlike in years past, where Jeep graced us with some outrageous concepts like the Mighty FC or J-12, this year's vehicles are a bit more restrained and a bit more buildable by enthusiasts. That's not by accident, officials tell us. They wanted to put this year's focus on attainable vehicles and accessories from Mopar and Jeep Performance Parts that existing owners can use to augment their own vehicles. So let's get to it.
We'll start with the Wranglers first. There are three concepts of the jeepiest of Jeep coming to Moab - the Level Red, Maximum Performance and Mojo. The Level Red and the Mojo (seen above) are similar from a suspension and engine standpoint. Both boast a two-inch Jeep Performance Parts lift kit, which officials tell us is coming to market in the next few months. There are a pair of Dana 44 crate axles on both the front and rear, while a Jeep Performance Parts Rock-Trac transfer case has been fitted. The 3.6-liter V6 engines on both Jeeps can breathe a bit easier thanks to a new cold-air intake and exhaust system.
