my reserve is at $4150 for those of you who might ask. thats well below what this jeeps worth and what others of this year and overall condition go for on ebay (between 6000 and 7500).
Im selling my 2001 Cherokee due to I got a four door camry to drive to work and dont really need as many vehicles as I have. Ive owned since feb 2011 (117700 miles) and I installed the lift and wheels and tires on it in january 2012 (127000 miles).
It has a 3 inch rough country lift with lower control arms and nitro shocks
31x10.50 kelly safari tsr tires (id say 85-90 percent remain)
craiger soft 8 wheels (i have chrome centers for them if you want them)
cobra cb
4ft firestick antenna
kenwood cd player
polk audio 3 way speakers all around
its been very dependable for me. ive driven it round trip 50 miles a day to and from work from the day i bought it up until last month when i got this camry.
there are only 2 things that need be noted on this jeep.
1. the track bar lower bushing is wearing out. it has the factory track bar still for maximum clearance. you can replace that bushing or buy a new adjustable track bar. it can be driven still but under certain rocking motion *ie coming up a curb to a driveway* the play in the bushing is noticeable
2. the air conditioner has a LEAK. and im sure its a leak. it was working great until last september when it gradually got warmer and then the compressor just doesnt have enough juice in it to run anymore. it didnt just stop working, this was a gradual thing. im not a person to use much a/c during the fall winter months so i never bothered with it yet. im sure its a easy fix, heck maybe some stop leak additive (which i wont do myself) might fix the problem.
thats it. other than that its ready to hop in and play or drive across country.
the body is perfect, no damage anywhere. straight as an arrow
the paint on this is in good condition, no fading or large chips. It could use a good buffing as there are limb scuff marks on the sides from the trails i frequent. *Land Between The Lakes at Turkey Bay in Western KY* http://www.lbl.org/OHV.html
and for those who ask, I DONT GO MUDDING IN THIS JEEP. thats not what i built it for. its the daily driver weekend trail warrior. the only mud it sees is on the trails, i dont go find a mudhole or pit and i avoid all i can anyways. its just to hard on any vehicle to see mud.
text messaging works best for me as i work a rotating 12 hr shift so one day i might be on days or nights.....ill always reply, just give me time

China orders Jeep to investigate Wrangler fire risk
Mon, 06 Jan 2014It's been some time since we've heard anything about fires related to the Jeep Wrangler (foreign or domestic), but it sounds like the go-anywhere SUV could be in hot water once again in China. Bloomberg is reporting that the Chinese government is ordering Jeep to investigate the matter and, in the meantime, also recommending Wrangler owners to not drive their vehicles in "extreme conditions" due to a "relatively high risk" of catching on fire.
There is no indication as to how many vehicles or which model years are affected, but the previous fire problems in both the US and China - which led to investigations but no recalls - were traced back to automatic transmission fluid leaks. The article, however, does not say what the potential problem is this time around as Jeep has not released a comment on the matter. The official notice, in Chinese, can be found here.
Finding surfing spots in the UK is tough work, even in a Jeep
Sun, 06 Jul 2014You truly have to love surfing to practice the sport in the United Kingdom. The area isn't exactly teeming with warm beaches full of sunbathers, and absolutely no easy spots to find big waves. To be a UK surfer, you need to be a fearless adventurer, not to mention quite lucky. And driving a Jeep might help, too.
Surfers Oli Adams and Micah Lester are traveling around the British Isles in a Jeep Wrangler Overland trying to find the best surf spots out there. These guys don't fit the laid-back surfer stereotype, but that's because finding waves in the UK is hard work. They say that the waves at some of these spots only exist for about three hours every year when the current and winds are just right.
To find these surf spots, the Jeep's offroad capabilities are paramount. In some areas, as you'll see in the video, there isn't even a beach, just jagged rocks. It would be like the movie Endless Summer, that is, if it could start snowing at any moment. These guys are clearly dedicated to their sport.
2015 Jeep Cherokee finds a bit more fuel mileage thanks to stop/start and aero tweaks
Mon, 06 Oct 2014Just a year after it burst onto the scene, Jeep has already made a pretty substantial addition to its V6-powered Cherokee, which has proven to be an extremely popular seller so far for the brand, adding a new stop-start system for the midsize, off-road-ready CUV.
The addition of stop-start included a few aerodynamic tweaks to the Cherokee's polarizing body, resulting in a wallet-pleasing increase in fuel economy. According to the EPA, the front-drive, V6-powered Jeep will now return 21 miles per gallon in the city and 29 mpg on the highway, up from 19 city and 28 highway. Four-wheel-drive, V6-powered Cherokees, meanwhile, will now return 20 mpg in the city and 28 mpg on the highway, up from 19 mpg in the city and 27 mpg.
With 271 horsepower, 239 pound-feet of torque and these newly enhanced figures, it's refreshing to see a larger, naturally aspirated engine that is still able to take the fight to today's crop of small-displacement, turbocharged four-cylinders.
